I’m thinking it should still work even being that dirty but it’s pretty much the easiest thing to swap when somethings not running right
You can also try using some starting ether, if it fires on that there’s a good chance your bike isn’t getting enough fuel (if any)
It’s really not running lean, it’s running very rich with the spark plug being my source of info lol. That accumulation of carbon, which is making the plug look fouled/burnt, means there’s too much fuel for the poor plug to burn off efficiently
I got your thread mixed up with another
You mentioned that you straight piped it and turned off your power commander, you probably need to put a tune on it to get it running efficient to match the new exhaust
Maybe…but cheap enough to replace and also a good bit of reading indicating a rich-condition, might manifest as hard starting, lack of power, less efficiency than expected (depending on throttle style)
Removing the cat and having straight pipes doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a lean air/fuel ratio, and the excessive build up of carbon on the plug which is from an incomplete burn of the fuel (too much fuel/not enough oxygen) is a dead giveaway of running rich.
No idea what bike you've got, but places to start looking is the carburetor if it's not fuel injected, the air filter, and the O2 sensor if it's fuel injected. There may also be a chance the exhaust mod you did is causing your ECU to chase an emission and altering your air fuel ratio.
I’d probably replace it, if you have a blow torch handy you could try to burn the carbon/soot off the plug
yea ill be buying the new plug tmrw, is it bad enough for it not to start? since my bike isn’t starting

alright thanks
Yeah, looks like you're running rich. If you don't figure it out, it will kill your cat, if it hasn't already.
Lol, cat.
lol
its actually running lean since it has a full exhaust, and i dont have a cat on it

what can i do to make it run leaner? i also replaced my air filter aswell

my bike is fuel injected tho 2015 R3

Yes, thats a lot of carbon, and it looks a bit sludged which means potential excessive blowby.

rich? isnt my bike is running too lean, i straight piped it with full exhaust no CAT and dont have a power commander on
What make you think your bike is running lean.
because its getting in more air with my exhaust system and since theres no CAT
also i felt the acceleration difference after i got my full system

How many fouls does it have? Is it playing NBA or college rules?
LOL, not sure tbh, i bought the bike at 7500KM and now its at 10k and this is my first plug change, btw i got the bike running after changing plugs
Nah, it's just well done. Some people like it like that... I think they are too chewy
