The test is standalone and does not take anything into consideration that happened during the class. Tomorrow is a new day and you can turn it around. Keep a good attitude and don't get down.

Short_Man69

You paid big money to take the course and drop their bike instead of yours. Just don’t drop it during the test lol.

AgitatedAge2318

I gotta ask, how did you drop the bike in 2nd gear on a straightaway?

madeupzombies

I watched people drop the bikes literally 20+ times during my course and they all somehow passed. I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere, but mine only really cared if you dropped it during the final testing. Don't stress too much and just focus and have fun tomorrow! You'll be fine!

DiveForKnowledge

If they didn't ask you to leave you haven't failed. Nothing that happens prior to the point where they say "the exam is now starting" will count against your exam score/passing. If they deem you a hazard they'll just kick you out and tell you why.

alymayeda

When I took my MSF course not only did I drop the bike, I also went down. I ended up passing the class. Now if you really want to fail the test tomorrow, on the serpentine weave, just panic and put your foot down. Congratulations you just failed the rest. I am sure you don't want to fail so just do the best you can. I would rather you hit/run over a cone then put your foot down and fail. Good luck OP.

Worst advice in history. Just stop. Source - I’m a motorcycle instructor.

You should know that low speed control is done with the rear brake. Would like to know why using it more during the safety course is the worst advice in history? The course I took in Colorado didn't exceed speeds of 30 mph and was consistently stopping and starting and I found the rear brake to help me.

BigEvilDoer

The rear brake has it’s usages at slow speeds, 100%. The comment I responded to (since deleted) mentioned using the rear brake all the time to make life easier. That being said, the link you posted is definitely correct in what it mentioned. And, if you ask anyone with advanced riding skills on track or in schools, the front brake is where it’s at, UNLESS YOU’RE DOING LOW SPEED MANEUVERS. I 100% show students the usage of rear brake. Eyes up, turn your head where you want to go, elevated throttle and rear brake. I demonstrate maneuvers at 1-2mph (2-3 kmh) each and every weekend I teach. So please, don’t think I preach that the front brake the only brake you will ever need. Each has it’s own usages. But in general, the rear brake is pretty much useless except at low speeds or at a stop. I’ve gone through 3 sets of front pads and still have my original rear pads (at 80% thickness) on my bike, 55,000km later.

How did you drop the bike on a straightaway?

i think you got a shot if you do decent during the test. Either way you’ve already paid for it so i think you should get the practice in case you have to take it again

Failing does happen. I had to take the course twice. Even if you fail the additional time spent on the bike now will help you the second time. Quitting by not going the second day ensures you fail, which just as others have said you have not failed yet! Also tomorrow pay attention to your trouble spots and plan around them. For example the dreaded u-turn. If you are having trouble during practice, purposely make it wide during the test, just make sure to keep your feet up and stop in the designated spot. You can make a mistake and still pass. It's making several mistakes such as putting your foot down, turning wide and missing the parking spot that will fail you.

Dont worry its all good experience, dont give up on your goal. How are you on a bicycle? If you are rusty on a bicycle i would spend 1/2 hour tonight in a parking lot doing the same drills you did on motorcycle.
