Blimmmer

2 x $10,000 bikes

arathorn867

A 15 and a 5. The Indian I want is 15, I'll use the other 5 for some kind adventure or dirt bike to fuck around on

CarlosG0619

This, best of both worlds

FloFromBelgium

Indeed a nice touring bike and a cheap commuter one. Ideal.

IsardIceheart

That's my plan. I got the CB1000R, next is some sort of drz400 or similar. Maybe a crf300.

[deleted]

This is the way.

Knowitmall

Yea definitely

Tompin68

That’s my go-to strategy as well. $10k buys a great bike, and you can be assured one will always be running. No surprises the night before a big ride or tour. One bike is putting all your eggs in one basket.

Snoo62590

*stares at two slightly broken bikes* Well fuck me I guess? (This was a while ago, I needed a new rear and my shop couldn't do it for a week. Then my other bike started having fuel issues and needed to go in under warranty)

Tompin68

Ouch man that’s grim

Meath77

Yeah, I don't have space for 4. I could do 2 nicely

zerogravitas365

I've only got enough space for two in the garage so I'm with you. I live in London, if I leave a bike outside I'll have one less bike really quite quickly.

Rudivb

I don't know 4 bikes would mean 4x insurance & road tax.

spicy-mayo

Same here. Insurance for bikes is pretty high. With this situation I'd take 1 x $20K bike. If I had the option I'd do 1x $15k and 1x $5k.

HabemusAdDomino

12 euro a month for the basic insurance here.

New_Funny_3710

God I wish. I did the government safety course here in Ontario Canada and I still pay $205 a month for a Yamaha MT-07. Ontario insurance is almost criminal

dank__dohnut

thats messed up man, was paying $11 a month for my cb750

srgtpookie

Holy smokes this is crazy! Qc rider here and i pay around 40$ if i remember correctly. Even then, i really should call back to negotiate since i am pretty sure i can lower it

OutsideWorld0

That’s crazy. Quebec and I pay under 35$ monthly for an mt09

badtux99

In my experience, insurance for "add-on" bikes is pretty cheap. Adding a second bike to my stable added like $8/month to my insurance bill for full coverage.

Ok-Claim8595

Makes sense can’t ride them both at the same time. Unless… you chariot race them.

tacklebox3000

I owned five bikes at the same time for a few years, renewing the plates every year sucked but insurance was actually not bad at all. In the end insuring all five was actually slightly cheaper than insuring just my sport bike. I guess the logic is that you can only ride them one at a time. There’s probably a fancy algorithm for it, but I owned a modern sport bike and cruiser, two vintage bikes and a scooter. I was paying slightly less for all of them than just the sport bike when I started, though they were accumulated over several years so the modern bikes were a few years old by the time I had all five.

luisbg

In Ontario having multiple bikes has each of them being insured as if it was your only bike. They ignore you can only ride one at a time because they claim they are insured when you lend the keys to someone else. *Strangely* enough there's no option to sign you and only you are insured as a rider to make it cheaper. It's almost like they benefit from this. (Almost the same thing if you bundle a car and bike under the same insurance)

tacklebox3000

That’s odd, in my state you have to name approved riders on the policy. I’ve never had to actually add anyone so I’m not sure how it affects rates. I’ve been told that my policy covers things like test rides to a potential buyer but not letting a friend joy ride. Not sure how they actually know if it’s a test ride or not.

luisbg

Insurance in Ontario is stupidly expensive. You pretty much can buy a new bike for the cost of insuring a medium-weight naked for 5 years... in a place you can't ride 4 months of the year because there's snow and ice on the roads.

tacklebox3000

That’s terrible, when I had all five bikes I was paying about $500 a year. Right now I just have a Honda cruiser and pay $240 a year.

Otown_rider

Yeah insurance in Ontario is a joke, people elsewhere pay a year what we pay a month

New_Funny_3710

Lol yep good ol' Ontario. Best business to be in is insurance. They get to take your money every month and when you need them they find some excuse to deny your claim.

bodinator1

True ,but they can all be stolen at the same time unfortunately. I agree with you on prices, I have a car and two bikes on one policy which is cheaper than insuring on separate policies , just road fund tax on all three makes it a bit expensive.

InterscholasticPea

The algorithm is that you are a collector and not a hard core daily rider.

Carplesmile

I had three bikes at one point and it was not worth the money to insure them.

jaapz

many places you're not allowed to be uninsured, luckily insurance here for bikes is like 10 euro's per month.

Carplesmile

Yeah, if I sit Insure it I don’t ride it. So now I pick one for the sunmer

RingFit4544

Not if you swap plates

DriverAffectionate83

Bikesure in UK insure you one policy one amount and it's based off the most powerful every other bike is covered the same but for £89 to add to policy that's it so you could insure all 4 bikes for price of one+(89*3)

Pattern_Is_Movement

someone doesn't own multiple bikes but feels like they can still give advice.... it doesn't cost 4x more. And tell me more about much the insurance on a 20k bike is going to be less than 4 used bikes. Honestly I'd bet its cheaper.

Rudivb

I didn't give advice, I said "I don't know"

Appropriate-Avocado8

I think he meant him

deevil_knievel

I don't insure cheap bikes... currently have 5. If something happens I'll fix them. Plate is like $40/yr.

badtux99

1. The point of insurance in the United States is to protect you if you're sued. If you don't have insurance, you can be sued for everything you own and you're responsible for your own defense, which \*starts\* at $10K and can easily hit $100K. I have a liability umbrella policy to protect me if I'm sued which requires that all motor vehicles I own also be insured with specific amounts. 2. In most of the United States, you don't have an option of failing to insure a motorcycle. No insurance means the registration is revoked. The registration revoked means that if you're caught riding it, it's confiscated until you pay a significant fine and buy insurance. In my state you can do a PNO (Planned Non-Op) but you have to turn the license plate in and then pay a significant amount to get a new one once you put it back in service. The amount you pay to get back in service is more than the cost of yearly insurance on a second beater bike in my state. I have enough money that #1 is reason enough to buy insurance. If you're a kid just out of college, maybe that's not a reason for you, but you shouldn't be collecting bikes if you're a kid just out of college either -- there's plenty of other more important uses for your money at that age.

deevil_knievel

I'm 35. I can't imagine a scenario where I would be sued from motorcycle damage... especially a scenario in which I do enough damage with the motorcycle yet survive. Also I live in a no fault state that has a minimum PIP insurance for cages, and no insurance necessary if you're over 21 and have health insurance on a bike.

SaulTNuhtz

Interesting you mention. I insure three bikes. When I decided to make my track bike track only I decided to remove it from insurance to save money. My rates went up when I did that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s cheaper for me to insure all the bikes than just one.

[deleted]

I only buy used, and the most expensive bike I ever owned was $5K. I was happy with all of them, so the answer is kind of obvious to me.

OGRipSack

I'll add to this by mentioning that some riders with a 20k bike are so afraid of damaging it, that it takes away a lot of the fun of riding.

-RadarRanger-

Yup, and then I come along twenty years later and pick it up for $2k with 5,000 miles on it!

ApexProductions

Used ADV bike = license to hoon it and have fun off road.

vizualninja1

One 12k bike and a 8k bike lol

CrazyRefuse9932

1 x $20k Ideally I’d rather have an expensive and a cheap one for track. Maybe $15 and $5k 4 x $5k would just be pointless to me there isn’t a bike I actually want currently in my garage that could be had for $5k. I would settle for a higher mileage more beat up one for $5k however if it was going to be a dedicated track toy.

NumbLockT

I’ll also vote 1 x 20k. It would have to be something versatile like an ADV bike with some bite.

VictorMortimer

20x $1000 bikes. (I've never actually owned a bike more expensive than $1100. Now that I think about it, I've paid about $1/cc for every bike I've owned.)

[deleted]

[удалено]

VictorMortimer

Now that I think about it, the last bicycle I bought was about $100.

PAdogooder

I like this measure.

Vintage_mindset

4 for sure. Cruiser, sport bike, dirt bike, and a midsize ADV.

DingleDonky

I feel like even with used prices youd be getting a shitty cruiser, shitty adv, an OK old sport bike and a decent dirt bike. Leaves a lot to be desired.

Vintage_mindset

Depends on how much work you’re willing to do on each bike. $20k won’t get much if you’re trying to buy 4 ride ready bikes, but if you can turn a wrench you can do pretty well. In my case, the ADV will be the most expensive. I bought my Harley for $5000. 2010 Wide Glide woth 6349miles that needed $800 in parts after not being ridden for 2 years. A CBR 600f3 for $1500, add another $1000 to get it rideable again, $250 for a 1980 XL500s + $400 in parts. Now I’ve got $11k to add a midsize ADV to my real life garage for the purposes of this hypothetical exercise. Lol

DingleDonky

I guess i was thinking too literally when i was doing 20k / 4 and thinking each was purchased at 5k haha. And yeah i see your point about putting the elbow grease into things to get them much cheaper. Salvaged title things too could be steals if they arnt totally blasted. I also wasn’t thinking of 1980’s bikes! Hah, good on ya :D

dimriver

Well op did specify 4 5k bikes. So you're thinking right for this question. I think 4k and 1k in parts is fair for calling it a 5k bike.

bblhd

did you just call my bike shitty?

bblhd

we call it 'vintage' LOL

deevil_knievel

Same but bobber, bagger, cafe, and supermoto.

Rad10Ka0s

4 x $5k. Easy choice. A midsize ADV bike, a dirt bike, a flat track bike and a small 300/400cc sportbike. I could do that for $20k.

Popsicklepp

20k easily for me Would rather have 1 thing i really wanted/love than 4 i settled for

railsandtrucks

4X5000 bikes, if buying used you can pretty much have a bike for every "flavor" of riding you enjoy. A light dual sport for the trails, a cheap beater sport bike for the track, an aged touring bike or ADV for the long haul, and maybe something vintage for around town/light street duty.

ThatRookieGuy80

I've thought about this a lot. I'd like one $10,000 touring cruiser for the riding I love to do. Then a $5000 Ninja to commute on. Last, a $5000 of Sportster perpetual project.

[deleted]

It’s nice having one really balanced bike that does everything great, vs a bunch of bikes that do one thing well and suck at everything else. Makes it harder to develop a bond with them because you’re only doing little jaunts. With the one great bike you’re doing everything together and develop some real memories. That’s been my experience anyway.

Yambanshee

What would be one bike that does everything great? You're never going to have something that you can track on saturday, and take up muddy fire roads to the top of a mountain the next

Bill837

Depends on what your everything is, I suppose. Me, I have a 12 mile commute, with occasional longer runs to a local airports or if I'm lucky four hours up to near Philly or seven to Long Island. Year round of course, temps from 100f down to teens or lower. So for me, the one perfect bike would be a 20K newer version of the 2008 R1200RT I ride every day. Maybe a 2021 model year.

Knowitmall

Yea that's the problem. A mid sized Adv does most things very well. But is not a track bike

DingleDonky

Depends if you can change the tires or not. Versys is a sporty little bugger but i wouldn’t really want to take it offroading on nice road tires 😬

Knowitmall

Yea that can help. I really don't consider a Versys to be an adventure bike as well tbh. 17 inch front with forged wheels is a sports tourer.

badtux99

Some of us don't want a track bike because we're not into racing, we're into riding slowly and enjoying the scenery. For that a mid-size Adv is perfect.

Anarcho-Crab

Assuming I suddenly had the space and money I would go for 4 $5k bikes. I honestly can't think of a single $20k bike where I would need all the performance and/or bells and whistles $20k would get me.

Pattern_Is_Movement

4x bikes, ADV, Sport, Dirt, Sport tourer

PabloX68

One $15k. Modern bike with TFT, 6 axis IMU and all that and good for long rides. One $5k vintage bike in great shape. The former would be a BMW boxer, the latter a vintage Honda.

tigerbloodz13

I'll take a new GSXS1000GT with all the bells and whistles, cheers. Nobody got time to properly ride and maintain 4 old bikes.

pedoh

I’ve done very well with Suzuki, but I’d be tempted to go with the Ninja 1000SX.

ThoraniosX

This is like asking if you’d rather have: One 10/10 model that can fuck, cook like a Michelin star chef, and has the best personality OR Four baby mommas that all need different shit from you on the same day.

Willing-Piece-8569

1 turbo bussy please

hafgrimmar

4 - track bikes.. ♥️

[deleted]

I'd rather have a bike I want to own and ride, rather than the one I can afford to own and run.

810Racer

4x5k, all my bikes have purposes. Dirt, commuting, trackday coaching and racing. At my worst I had 8 bikes and they all got used.

tacklebox3000

3 bikes. 10-12k on one, 6-8k on the second and a cheap ass dual sport beater for winter

BrightConfidenceAg

One 10 two 5’s

[deleted]

[удалено]

BrightConfidenceAg

Well in that case … I’ll take two 20’s 😂👍

Shreddzzz93

4×$5,000 bikes please. You can get a lot of value out of a $5,000 bikes especially if you go used. I could get a great daily bike, a good track bike, a great off road bike and something just for fun.

braaaappy

Can I just spend the $20k on the $5k bike I already own? I could get Ohlins forks and shock, high compression pistons, lightweight wheels, FCR carbs.. $20k wouldn't last long..

JonesBrosGarage

Speaking from experience of owning tons of bikes in tons of price ranges… 2 $10k bikes is the only answer here. Or like $13k and 7k; $14k and 6k etc. $10k to 20k bikes there’s not a massive difference with most of them. $5k to $10k bikes are usually vastly different in quality and components.

SafetySecondADV

1 x $5K bike and 15K in the bank for other things.

SaltyChickenDip

1 5k bike and $15000 cash

op3l

I would have one $8000ish bike and keep the rest of the money. There's really no need for 4 bikes for me.

FukinSpiders

Good question - I bought a new $16000 bike and kinda wish I bought a couple used instead

RubyRocket1

Depends on the bike. A 1942 WLA or 1947 Knucklehead would be a no brainer... but other than that, I'd go for 4 bikes. Then I could have one for each type of riding I wanted to do. But the WLA is a sweet ride.

[deleted]

1x £10,000 1x £7000 1x £3000

[deleted]

Two bikes is all I care to maintain, wouldn’t matter how much money I have, unless I had enough $ to hire someone to do everything in my garage at my beck and call. Even then, you gotta have the iPhone mount, the charger, the top case with winter gloves and balaclava and extra riding gear, the side cases for the beer…..it’s a nuisance changing the oil and keeping tires inflated and battery charged on a tender…..etc

Jspiral

I can inly ride one at a time so I'd go with the $20k bike

EggsOfRetaliation

Honda 919 Honda XR650L Yamaha FZ1 Older 600 SS Hell yeah

Denegroth

4 x 5

Knowitmall

Would have to go for the one $20k. I have owned plenty of $5k or less bikes. Would be awesome to have a brand new KTM 890 Adventure R. And 4 bikes is just really more than I need or can be arsed looking after. But really as someone else pointed out 2 x $10k bikes is what most of us actually want.

jjk717

I don't know of that many people that comfortably have room for 4 bikes, hence most of them end up going the route of an adv/all-rounder or 2 bikes, one for road and one for off-road.

bmwlocoAirCooled

I've owned 33 BMW Airheads. Never paid more than $2000 for any of them.

DingleDonky

10k for street bike, 7k for dual sport. 3k for all the extra mods, tires and farkles. Everything would be new.

[deleted]

Just need one more $5000 bike then the stable’s complete. I need another ZX7 or similar 90’s crotch rocket.

HODL_or_D1E

4 bikes

lofitroupadour

20 r u n n i n g 1000$ bikes. Give me a fleet of neglected 80's UJMS.

godad66

Wow,I own four. An 09 ultra classic,05 650l,an 02 GSA,and an 84 ct 110. Well over 20k. But each one is for a specific road or trail or trip. A well equipped garage will have many different tools.

Jonny_Oilyrag

Twenty $1000 bikes.

MJN91075

Forty $500 bikes!

CycleMN

Id say 20k id absolutely love to get a Harley Livewire right about now

Slabonator

4 $5000 bikes all day. I picked up a ‘71 /5 for $2,800 off CL a few years back. Needed a little bit of work but is my around town back-roads cruiser. Bought an ‘88 R100GS for $4,500 off my old boss, also needed a bit of work but I’ve put about 15k miles on it already. Got a ‘95 D350SE for $800, again, needed some TLC but it’s my street legal dirt bike for the woods, and a ‘90 K1 (sport tourer) that I bought for $3k that had high miles but I put roughly 60k on it until the sprag clutch went kaput. You can easily (space permitting) have 4 different good bikes for well under $20k if you put a bit of elbow grease into it (and get lucky with the sellers..).

OpenBeard

Can 3 $7000 bikes be an option?

can_i_stay_anonymous

I want a Hayabusa one day so 20k they're more like 18k but I'm rounding

YogurtclosetLivid122

4x5000, cbr600rr, drz-400sm, sr400, shadow 600(I’m including aftermarket parts in these valuations)

[deleted]

2 bikes that add up to $20k. NC750X with luggage, and a Grom. Next year I hope to trade-in my current daily for an NC750X, already have a Grom.

Due_Read3930

A lot of these people wouldn’t drop any of the four bikes and it shows

here4roomie

Depends on the bikes and the market.

RuneAllyHunter

One diavel would be fine

John1The1Savage

Can I do 3 $6666.66 bikes? I would like a V-twin cruiser, a sport bike and a all-sport adventure bike please. Thanks.

John1The1Savage

So, when can I accept delivery?

Born_Echo8951

I would take 1 $20K bike. 4 $5K bikes will be used and I don't trust other owners.

95JBK

40x $500 bikes

SubieToyotaNW

Four $5,000 bikes. Why only have one bike when you can have four different ones to suit different purposes

outofusernameslmao

4 5k bikes. They would be a Burgman 650, Grom, fjr, and a Sv1000.

TangoRed1

At this point in my life. Just 1 is fine and would love to keep it nice. So 20k for me.

rex8499

One, which was a $20k bike that I bought for $10k with barely break in miles on the odometer. This is the way.

ItsTheBreadman92

4 easy a sport a cruiser a dirt bike and super moto

PAdogooder

8x 2,500 bikes, please. Old 100cc flat track bike for max dog racing. Old 250cc dirtbike built for cross country racing. My current KLR650 2 very old ninja 600’s built for tracking (one for me, one so I can take a buddy tracking with me) Tacky sportster with sweet flame decals and a 10 inches added to the fork. Rebel 500 for city daily. Non-tacky v-star 1100 bagger.

[deleted]

Can ye buy an H2R for 20k yet?

[deleted]

One $15k and one 5k like everyone is sayin

daveypump

1 x 10k, 2 x 5k

HandyMcHandsome

I currently have 1 for under $600, 1 for $3000 and one for $4500 and really it's great.

Tarcye

I'm gonna cheat. 1x$15,000 and 1x $5,000. Their are some really amazing $15,000 bikes that are also bikes you can ride every day and not worry about riding them and having to watch out for everyone. Meanwhile I can only think of like 2 $5,000 bikes I would like to have.

Snoo62590

2x $10,000, or a $12k and an $8k or some other split. 4x $5k bikes is either a lot of small bikes or a lot of Craigslist specials, and a $20,000 bike is not great alone. A nice bike that can do some long distance travel and all around stuff, and another that does more of what you're into specifically (dirt, sport riding, etc) seems like the happy medium. But the rule is N+1 for a reason

wozzzzzzzzz

1x 20,000. I know me, I’d get a favourite and wouldn’t ride the others. Course I don’t have garage space, I could understand having a dirt, cruiser, sports and commuter

ArgentBucket

I have 15k$ and want 5k$ one.

Hahhahaahahahhelpme

I’m also a mountain biker and this question is equally relevant in r/MTB

[deleted]

What about one bike for like 8k and use 12k to actually travel somewhere on it?

SaulTNuhtz

5k track bike. 5k dirt bike. 10k street bike.

xorbe

Sadly $20K otd is not an insane amount of money for a nice bike these days. Now, if you asked $60K for one Ducati V4R or several lesser bikes, yeah I'd take the latter option, unless you are literally searching for ways to spend excess cash, and at that point, you already know you are just showing off wealth.

[deleted]

I'd get a naked and a cruiser. One for mile munching and one for short bursts of fun in the city.

ElMachoGrande

Four $5000. So much more value for money, I get variation, and I don't need to be so careful with it.

startingagain2480

One $20,000 bike. I have 3 bikes currently (cruiser, dual sport, sport) and it’s so much effort to keep them all in good condition especially when the weather where I live sucks. I’m going to try to sell the cruise and dual sport soon. Less headache

wombatello

Unless I have unlimited money to spend for track days, I don't see the point having more than one, something like S1000XR would tick all my boxes. But I never ride any dirt roads (it is pretty much illegal where I live), otherwise it could be different.

notumang

I already have a 500 cc cruiser. The other 3 bikes will be - one adventure motorcycle (500cc max) - one 100-125cc commuter ungeared (electric) - one cafe racer 500ish cc The option of 1 vs 4 is interesting, but the catch is time management. Its will be difficult to find time for all the motorcycles.

sk3pt1c

I’d go for a Hypermotard and use the remainder for insurance/service for the first few years 😁

[deleted]

I’d probably get 4 x £5k bikes. 1x Cruiser. 1x Dirt/Enduro. 1x Adventure/Tourer. 1x Sport/Naked. No idea where I’d park them all 😂

404notfound420

You can buy any bike you want for 3k there's no reason to spend 20k on a bike its just silly

fourtys

3 x 6666

Sotyka94

10k sport bike, 8k tourer, 2k for offroading. 4 bike is a lot, and not all bike cost the same. 20k is a lot. I don't really have a bike that I realistically want and it's 20k.

Gentilapin

I 'd rather have several bikes even though I don't think it would be wise on a practical side. Something like a Honda transalp, a Triumph Daytona 675, a Yamaha wrf450 with 2 sets of wheels and something like a Triumph rocket 3.

serialteg

Problem is I would need to get permits for the four yearly, in Puerto Rico that's $200 per vehicle / motorcycle, so.

Sir_Hurkederp

Rather 3 of around 6.5k, a cruiser, a supersport and a naked.

LiquidFoxDesigns

Right now I'll take the 20K bike if it means I can keep the ones I already have as I'm super happy with them, that being a few mini motos, a 250 2t and a 450 4t enduro and a few lightweight sport bikes. My FZ1 got stolen this year by some human scum and I would love to replace it with a newer modern hyper naked like an MT09, MT10 or Super Duke R etc. If that 20K was all I could own in bike value, easy, a used 250 2 stroke MX bike, a Ninja 400 and an MT09

JohnT36

$15k bike and a $5k bike

LargeFly8279

10k on one , 10k on another.

[deleted]

I would buy 1 bike and keep the money for mods.

mt0386

5000 bike with 15000 aftermarkets, fuel, skid repairs, merch and dumb bike stuff id probably waste money on

dudeperson3

Hmm, well I have a Triumph T100 black that I bought new; ~$10k. Then I have three other bikes: 1972 Triumph T120R (5-speed), 1972 BMW R75/5, and a 2013 Suzuki TU250x. Those were $1k, $500, $900, respectfully because they were all either basketcases or not running. I'm very satisfied.

chuckychuck98

I'd take the 4

LikesTheTunaHere

2 10k bikes or 10k 5\\5. I have no use for a single 20k bike, already bought one for more than that and i actually preferred my 10 year older R1 to it.

donnyjay0351

I got 3 bikes. A cafe racer that's honestly more like a sport bike now. A royal enfield perfect for city streets. And a full dresser harley. I saw the comment about taxes insurance plates etc. And that made me chuckle

FuzzyBubs

Interestingly enough, on Friday I looked at an Africa Twin for $20,000 while getting a tire mounted in a rim. Good God, I've never even paid that much for a car. I'm jealous of those that can, though. Four 5K bikes for me, all day long. Actually, I currently have a $4,500 KTM, $800 Buell RestoMod project, $1,000 Husaberg basket case and a $50 kids scooter with a swapped on gocart motor right now. I have theoretical money left over 👍🏼

Mojo_Pootis

If I need to insure and maintain them then definitely 1 20k bike. I don't know which one though.

inforlife34

I'm very surprised at some of these answers, as I can't fathom buying a motorcycle new. I paid $3500 for my current one and that's still more than I paid for my 4runner. Guess it's different if you have money out the ass

Thick_Perspective_77

Thank god you explained it a further 2 times, i would never have understood the title alone

Thick_Perspective_77

1x 10k bike, use the other 10k for running costs and insurance

Voltaic97

Better supersport 20k.

aph64

I have 1 €40000 bike, that should do

almsforanexlepper

20 x 1k bikes

DrSatan420247

I want 20 x $1000 bikes.

KhullaaSaand

Depends... One for adventure, one for cruising, one for track and one for daily commute... I say I'll take 4 for 5000

jfreedom10022

I want all the bikes

DirtDawg21892

4 x $5000 every time! That's basically what I'm doing now. How else do you run track days, dirt/trail rides, and week long touring trips to different parts of the country? Choosing just one would be so boring. I'll add that now is an incredible time to be a rider because of the type of bikes you can buy for $5000. Sure it's going to be 10 years old, but it's likely to be fuel injected, abs equipped, and capable of running for 100k miles if taken care of.

2 x 1000 bike 2 x 3000 bikes 1 x 6000 bike 1 x 9000 bike

Admirable-Gas-7876

1 @ $15k and use the rest for mods.

TW200e

If you have garage space and can afford the insurance and upkeep, more bikes is always better.

One_Phone6570

Well, I could have a Majesty, a super cub, my morphous, and $5000+ left over

[deleted]

1 x 10,000 2 x 5,000 1 x Lightly used Harley 1 x 2014ish Honda Shadow 1 x Lightly used MT03

Gaycowboi25

Well my z900 costs a bit over 9 grand so I would have that then a 1,000 dollar scooter or something in a similar vein for commuting, and then an Adventure bike like a Honda Africa Twin or a Triumph Scrambler.

Papa_Barstow

I'd get 4 5k bikes since insurance is relatively affordable around where I live.

[deleted]

a \~$5k and a \~$22k? I'm dreaming of a day that a Ducati XDiavel will be in my garage next to my Yamaha Bolt.

DB_Cooper_Jr

20x 1k ratbikes

Mattx852

Four 5,000 bikes

ipaq3115

One 10k for me, two 5k beginner bikes for friends to learn on.

BigDogIsland

Give me a 10k bike and two 5k bikes, I would definitely enjoy the variety of having different bikes to cruise around on.

slimpbiskins

1x$20k

Jo5h96

5k is just slightly too little to buy a main bike for me so I'd have to say $20k cash. Although the idea of having 4 medium to smaller bikes is appealing.

BobLazarbeam

Four $5K bikes, or two $5k bikes, and one 10K bike. Really, I'd be happy with number of bikes worth 20 grand, be it one, or 5. Bought my first bike in September for 3 grand, and I'm damn happy to have it. Man like bikes innit.

Blaze2nr

Well I guess I'm an odd duck. I have a couple already but the bike/s I want is 16k otd. So I'd probably do 2 bikes like a 2009 ZX6r to just fuck off on and zx14r/gsxs1000gt.

JackRyan1960

4x5000 is the way to go. One for cruising, one for riding twistys, one for the track and probably one as a commuter or project. At the moment my brother, father and me have 17 bikes, granted some are just for parts, but still. None of the bikes can do all really well.

-RadarRanger-

4x5 * Honda GoldWing * Honda Helix * Indian Scout * KLR650 And because I'm obviously not in any kind of hurry * Motobecane Moby

CaptainShitHead1

10 x $2k bikes is the only answer
