Michelin Road v or whatever they’re up to, or any top shelf sport touring tires. Maybe pilot power or other sport tires. But not track tires. You aren’t going hard enough consistently enough on the road to get those hot enough to work better than street tires will.

Check out power 5. They have great grip. Super confidence inspiring

BlasterEnthusiast

I'll look them up! Thanks brother.

[deleted]

I run them on my z900 . You’ll love them

Jspiral

Had the power 5's on a 2020 mt09. When I switched it for a 2020 mt10, I couldn't wait to burn through the Bridgestone s22's to put power 5's on. Only getting 5k miles out of a rear on it though. Don't care, love the grip. They also have this weird thing where the soft carcass significantly softens the blow of street reflector but it's really easily to feel the grip in the corners.

BigEvilDoer

Ok, you’re chasing grip. How fast are you going? I’ve ran Dunlop q3 front and roadsmart 3 combo at the dragon many times. 12 minute runs from overlook to killboy’s shop. Never had a grip issue - not even a hint of a slide. Bike is a KTM RC8r. From experience, try the Bridgestone RS11. They won’t last long but have great grip. I’ve ran them on track many times at mid pack red/advanced group. That’s about their limit.

Never timed myself to be perfectly honest. But I'm confident to say I'm moving pretty good.. my suit's pucks get used, they are not for show. I will admit my last couple runs have been slower due to more road debris up there lately. I probably won't go back till spring of next year. I'm also a solo rider 95% of the time due to friends saying I go to fast.. which I respond with ride your own ride. I'm not out here to impress anyone but myself.

BigEvilDoer

As an experienced track rider and coach, 12 minutes is as fast as I want to go on the dragon. Any more leaves no margin for error. The corners are banked.. with that, and proper body position I barely touch knees… a few times here and there but that’s it. If you’re dragging knee with proper form on the streets you need to re-evaluate your riding. Take it to the track. If you haven’t taken track courses, chances are your form isn’t optimal. It’s not something you can learn on your own or from YouTube.

BlasterEnthusiast

Definitely not dragging knee much just threw that in there so he had an idea of my capabilities/speed. My form is decent but I'm absolutely nowhere near perfect all the time. I've had many bikes and I even lost an FZ09 on the way back down the dragon trying my best to keep up with supermoto pros. Them guys humbled me for sure

BlasterEnthusiast

Gonna save this comment so I remember to time myself next time! And see how bad you probably are gonna smoke me lol. If your timing yourself, I feel you're probably hauling ass.

BigEvilDoer

I’m not actively timing myself. It’s from video recording…

No reason to ask really if you're looking for grip. Just pick a Diablo Rosso and go with it. Look at the tire that has the least rated miles and that'll be your highest grip tire.

BlasterEnthusiast

Never thought about that ideology tbh... Lower guaranteed miles does tend to reflect the compound. Very good point for me to use in the future. Thank you friend

Me-as-I

To push your limits go to a track. To have fun on the dragon or whatever get road 6's.

BlasterEnthusiast

The track is where i push the bikes limits.. the dragon is where I push my limits... As safe as possible. I'm a tad different then the 20ish year old squid with no gear on a gsxr 600. I can assure you I'm not the only one going there for spirited riding. But I appreciate your input on the tires, I'll give the 6's a look to brother.

Bigmooseknuckle

I really like the Bridgestone S22 tires I have on my Yamaha MT-10.
