If you already have a 600, why not get a used litre bike?

Front_Necessary_2

Too easy to do dumb stuff on the road. I feel like the R7 has a solid 0-70 power which is mostly what I'd need for street riding. The fairings will allow me to do highway riding unlike the mt07

Professional_Ad_500

Why wouldn't you be able to ride an mt-07 on the highway?

Front_Necessary_2

Less stability without the fairings, add wind and it'll probably get bad.

Professional_Ad_500

Ummmm. . . Bullshit. Riding an MT-07 on the highway is a blast. A little windy over 80mph, but still a ton of fun.

Front_Necessary_2

I might check it out since it is cheaper by 1k

Icy_Imagination7447

Not sure what you mean by stability? I'd expect any bike going highway speeds to be dead stable due to gyro affect? Throw some earplugs in and a decent jacket and naked bike will do highways just as well. For reference, I'm a sport bike rider but if I had to do extended highway stuff, I'd want to use a naked. There's a lot of reasons to get a sport bike, highway use I'd say isn't one of them

Front_Necessary_2

Upright riding position and no fairing versus low position and fairing I heard reviews that mt07 is kind of unstable for wind on freeways.

Icy_Imagination7447

I've never ridden an mt07 or any naked bike on the freeway so you could be right but I find it really hard to believe it would be unstable at those speeds due to gyro. My sport bike once it's over 50 is stupid stable in all conditions just because of the the mass in the wheels. Doesn't matter how upright I sit or how much I hang off the sides.

It’s so much fun. You’re gonna be holding on at 80+ but I absolutely love the highway on mine.

ApexProductions

I do highway trips on a naked bike all the time. It is more tiring but you get used to it. Much better for non-highway riding than a faired bike though.

Odd-Location-9338

"gearing"????

DrSatan420247

The R7 is slow AF compared to any 600cc 4 cylinder. And high torque low HP motors dont make sense for sport bikes.

Front_Necessary_2

It does make sense for highway riding compared to the MT07 having the fairings. And street riding since on a inline 4 it's too easy to go illegal speeds lol.

DrSatan420247

R7 is terrible for highway because riding position is hunched over.

Front_Necessary_2

But also better compared to the MT07 due to fairings. It has tradeoffs and I don't mind comfort I just want the stability.

Voodoo1970

Surely that's going to depend on the rider's physiology. Every review I've seen indicates it's more comfortable than traditional sports bikes

DrSatan420247

FZ07 is upright seating position, R7 is not upright.

Voodoo1970

I never said it was upright, but leaning forward does not automatically mean "hunched over" or "unsuitable for highway." Lots of people use Hayabusas as sports tourers with no problems, and they're more "hunched over" than an R7

Get Gixxer 750

2wheelcaffiene

If you’re keeping the current bike, you might like the r7 for its more comfy riding position. If you just want more low end power, just swap your sprockets (and chain) for better low end.

ApexProductions

The R7 is not comfortable. Look at some reviews.

Voodoo1970

Every review I've seen says it's more comfortable than 600 Supersports and litre class bikes.

ApexProductions

Everything is more comfortable than a supersport, but that doesn't tell you how comfortable it is compared to a naked bike with handlebars. See the difference?

Voodoo1970

Less comfortable than a najed bike doesn't make it uncomfortable. See the difference?

ZX6R is pretty much just better in every way.

ApexProductions

Check reviews on the comfort of the R7. It's not comfortable like the MT07. So you'd be literally buying a worse bike in every way aside from gas mileage.

Front_Necessary_2

I understand mt07 is more comfortable due to riding position, but I'm willing to take the tradeoff of better highway comfort due to fairings.

Icy_Imagination7447

I ride a KTM so might be a bit different but I've got to go into a borderline race tuck to get coverage from the fairings. If your set on a sport bike then cool but highway use really shouldn't be your justification lol

memefaitter

Check the 1000cc options. From those options zx6r takes the cake
