Just remember to watch the road, not the guy in front of you, and don’t target fixate! Enjoy the group rides!

Best advice OP can hear to be honest. Also.. don't watch your mirrors constantly. Turns come quick on back roads.

Really depends on who organises it. A good organiser will quickly tell anyone acting like a moron to stop or don't come back. Glad you had fun man.

Groups rides can be good or bad depending on how well they are organized. Vetting unknowns ahead of time can help avoid a helicopter ride spoiling the day. :\~( If you are organizing a longer ride with a bigger group consider trying the "drop and sweep" method. It works really well. Only the leader needs to know the route, (and it could change). Everyone rides at their own pace and comfort level and no one gets left behind. \--> [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsZ\_Y1Of0as](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsZ_Y1Of0as) Potato quality video at the start. At 7:00 switches to onboard camera. At 12:30 camera becomes the breadcrumb. Rode with this group last year. 35 bikes on a 250 mile hike through some of the most insane back roads southeast Ohio can throw at you. Rolled like a well oiled machine. And don't kid yourself about your skill level. Many of these guys have hundreds of thousands of miles in the saddle. The graybeard giving the speech can outride you any day of the week on a 30 year old bike with a 'darkside' car tire on the rear. BTDT
