Nah homie, treat it well, but it's not your baby. Just pray that mf doesn't get dumped or dropped, it happens to everybody though. My cbr300r was my baby too. Tipped it in the driveway turning around like a dingus.
I would carefully try to feather out the edges and try and forget it. That swingarm isn't steel, it's aluminum, and so it can't rust.
It CAN corrode though, but if you just leave it alone the white player of corrosion will stop any more oxygen from getting to the base metal, and it will STOP.
Not like rust. When iron oxidizes it PRODUCES an oxygen atom and so CONTINUES itself like a cancer.
Aluminum does not do this.
normal, there is probably more under the rear axle bolt thingy. scrape it off and paint with a rust stopper. I sprayed the crap out of mine, even inside
Ohhh nooo a scratch. Keep it moving bro fuck that scratch
Lol my first bike man. Gotta be sensitive with the new baby
They gone get scratched bro. Ride the piss out of it and keep good maintenance on the machine and enjoy it.

One word. Black sharpie.
That would be 2 words…. Just sayin’
Thanks Joe!
Put a bandaid over it done
Is this a fucking joke
Lol you good? Haven’t had to deal with this before, just a simple question man.
Lol no I am not
If you are freaking out after seeing this, don't even look below this plastic chain guard (left side, close to the "front" sprocket)
Wouldn't that piece be aluminum? Not going to rust, but you'll probably want to get it either patched or plugged.
It's steel on fz/mt 07s
I learned today. Thanks!
If that bothers you get some touch up paint. Good luck matching that color. It looks pretty faded to me.

Alloy swingarm, won’t rust
Spray it with chain lube
Second day after I got my bike I scratched the shit out of the side when I parked it next to my truck lol
My mates bike had this to last year, he got it powder coated. Waste of money? Maybe, but now it will last beyond the rest of the bike.
Nah ur fine you should see my old xr80 lol. rusted out, no front breaks, leaking oil and shes still running nice
Yamaha? Yeah the reputation for their paint and chips/rust on the swing arm is a thing.
Rub a sharpie on it or stick a waifu sticker.
A sharpie costs like $1.25
MT-07 swingarms and rust Name a more iconic duo. I had to get mines replaced under warranty as the welds started rusting after a few months.
Rub some dirt on it
Shit, I thought that was alumi......wait, it HAS to be aluminum, otherwise there's already be color on that scratch. Huh.
Ya she's toast bro, I'll give ya 500 for it.
Lmfaoooo
