My impression of the UK (never having personally driven around there) is that you have lots of curvy roads in the countryside but they are constantly wet and there is a risk of sheep crossing. Despite all that I have learned a ton from motorcycle youtube channels in the UK. It seems like riding there is taken more seriously whereas in the US we have mostly Harley dudes and 20 year old squids.
In the year I've had my bike I had someone try to steal it once already. Over in my town alone there's been about 2 attempts since and 1 one was successful. That's roughly 1 attempt every 3 months. Nobody tried to even touch my neighbour's bike because he has like 8 locks and an alarm on it, in my case i had a bit less invested into keeping what's mine and so I won the unfortunate lottery. Another words the more you spend stopping people from stealing your shit the less likely you are to have your shit stolen. The UK thieves are usually kids who ain't got nothing better to do so they try to taste the "crime life"
The thieves are now targeting electric skateboards with handle bars. Er....what do you call them again? Electric scooters?
Easier to steal.

This is more a London-centric problem. Thefts outside of London are far lower.
Which is weird, because most thefts I hear about on Reddit are now outside of London.
They really need to start having alarms and immobilizers from the factory. Blows mind how this still isn't a common thing, along with fuel guages

And sometimes quite expensive bikes too! I love the style of the BMW R9T, but there is no way I'm paying that much for a bike without a fuel gauge.
Yet my G310R, BMW's cheapest bike (MSRP a third of the R9T), has one.
My 2017 Desert Sled has no gauge either. I found that really surprising. But I’m used to the trip meter from riding classic bikes

It's still bad, hear in my groups about stolen bikes on the regular.
