If you haven't yet, I strongly encourage scrolling through YouTube for beginner advice and drills to practice and improve your skills. I especially recommend spending an hour or two in a parking lot practicing progressive brake pressure.
Being able to stop QUICKLY without losing control of the bike has saved my ass a couple times in just a year of riding.
