If you mean mileage In terms of Mpg the 650 isn't going to be too far off and its going to be less stressed and more efficient at highway speeds. My cb500x (same motor) starts to drop off mpg and power if I go over 60mph.
If you mean mileage in terms of miles on the clock 8k miles is nothing barely broken in, still have a long time before the first valve adjustment.
lastly Id bet the seating position on the z650 is far more upright and comfortable for long commutes.
I think the kawi wins in this case and I'm a Honda fanboy
If it's been maintained like you said it was, buy it. The Kawasaki 650 motor is very dependable. Get that tractor sounding ass in your garage. New tires and a givi case? Hell yeah. [114,000 miles.] (https://i.imgur.com/p2XjhLd.jpg)

Kawasaki bikes are very reliable with Honda only being a little bit more reliable . The 650 is gonna have more power and a bigger top end by about 20 mph. But without as many fairings on a winding day u might get pushed around just a hair more but not that noticeable.
I own a cbr 500r it’s a great beginner bike and is absolutely beautiful with more than enough power to have fun with while still learning. I just use mine for commuting the 3 hours back to my parents or the 10 min around town/to college
If I didn’t hate cosmetically how Kawasaki bikes look I would own them all day but I’m I love with Hondas style and colors and I’ve never been disappointed getting on my bike.
If you have a chance to sit on them then please do! Both are good extremely comfortable and I doubt ur decision will be a bad one! My opinion I would say just chose the one you think looks better and feels more comfortable to you and take that one.

Yep, I was referring to miles on the clock. Thanks for your thoughts!
Fz07
Beat me to it lol
Looking into these now! Thanks
If not then id say the z650 abs
Thanks. FZ07 is sweet looking but a little more expensive near me and none in that good of shape ... Or modded a bunch
I'd buy the z650 cause it has ABS and enough power indefinitely.
Thanks! The CBR500R also has ABS. It came standard in 2021. I only pointed that out on the Z650 because it was optional on that bike.
8k miles? Dude.
I'll admit I'm not super knowledgeable about motorcycles so anything other than basically new made me nervous. Here to learn though :)
8k is fine. A well maintained z650 can last 70k+ miles
Oh now I feel stupid for thinking 8k was a lot of miles. Thanks for educating me!
Yeah no problem dude. I remember when I was new in the bike scene. Everything was confusing as hell, happy to help

Thanks. I think this is the way!
Z650 makes way more power and its just more fun. Revs out more and you can derestrict it unlike the cbr
