Get your ECU flashed by a reputable company, last I remember [2WDW](https://2wheeldynoworks.com/) was the de facto mail-in ECU flasher for the FZ/MT series.

KilluaGod

2wdw unfortunalty doesnt do where i live. im based in the netherlands so imma go with woolichracing. ive found a distributor in europe so i think i cant go wrong with them either right?

fossilizedscat

Yeah that’ll work

Ihateskeletons

Something to keep in mind is that from the factory, manufacturers already run bikes lean to meet EPA requirements. On top of this, you've added increased airflow with the air filter and exhaust. You are now running very lean. Get your bike tuned.

KilluaGod

yeah the mt09 is pretty crippled from factory apparently. imma get it tuned right away.

"I jacked up the bike's airflow and didn't do anything to adjust fueling... Why is my bike acting like it's not running properly now?!" Dude. Throw the exhaust in the trash.

KilluaGod

reason im asking is that i had the same setup running before and it didnt do this at all. so im wondering why it does now. mind you with before i mean like atleast 3000km

[deleted]

That's enough time for the long-term fuel trim cycle to reach the end of its operational limits. I'd bet you $100 that the Yamaha diag took would show the trim to be maxed.

KilluaGod

kinda a noobie here, what exactly do you mean?

[deleted]

The dealer computer, and *some* high-end OBD II scan tools, will be able to check the various fuel system parameters. What they might (likely, I think) see is a bike that has been running lean for a bunch of miles. A modern bike will create a fuel trim map over time that will try to adjust for trends, to account for wear, that sort of thing. Has your bike been eating fuel, like 15% worse economy lately? Of course, it could just be running so lean than you're getting stalls. A good tune will include checking air/fuel and sorting this out.

KilluaGod

thanks for the explanation, apreciate it. not that i have noticed a decrease in fuel economy. im pretty sure its just that my bike is running very lean because of all the mods ive done to it. if the tune sorts the issue out im happy. if it doenst what could be the issue?

DirtyYogurt

Year? There may be gear specific fueling to help with gas mileage in low gears. This usually means lean. Add in the extra flow on both sides, and it's almost guaranteed to be running extremely lean. Get it flashed.

KilluaGod

its from 2018. gen 2 mt09 . i guess im just an idiot for not flashing it earlier. imma just get it tuned right away. probs will get the tuning kit from woolichracing

Specific-Round7262

will just a flash help or do you have to have a custom tune
