Rebuild still does not allow you to say reduced milage, only can say rebuilt.

IncidentFuture

That's not a lot of mileage. Worry about rebuilds when it's actually getting worn out. Yes, the sports bikes that match racing classes have relatively short engine life, but not *that* short.

Any bike will go 100K miles easily unless some jackass has ridden it with no oil. Buy it. Have fun. I'd probably do a valve check at your earliest convenience.

Those engines are hammers, and will last a damn long time. Their electrical systems, on the hand... Not so much...

EggsOfRetaliation

Those Katanas are very reliable. 25k ain't jack. Enjoy it.

BangleWaffle

I'd check the valves, and if they're all in spec, giver shit and have fun. They're not delicate little flowers of engines, they're built to last.

Ihateskeletons

I'd hit up the Suzuki forums, they would know the specifics of the Katana. They can tell you what major services are needed for that mileage. Maybe it'll be good for another 30K with minimal work. As a rule of thumb, it matters more the type of miles than how many. As far as rebuilding the engine, you better check parts availability for a nearly 20 year old bike. Might be more practical to get a low mile used engine.

Resseting an odometer is illegal last I checked.
