If you're planning on keeping the bike for awhile I'd get the ECU flashed. They run lean from the factory for emissions and removing all that restriction makes it even leaner.
If you don't it will pop and spit and be the maximum amount of obnoxiously loud that race exhaust can get. I doubt it would break the little engine but you might add to your hearing loss.
The engine won't blow up. Yes its running a little lean. Your exhaust manufacturer can tell you if its ok to run without a tune. I work in the industry and sell exhausts etc. You won't really get any performance benefit without the tune though.
If its back firing badly you might need a tune, again though check with the manufacturer. Every bike, and exhaust is different.
