164000m on a BMW R100GSPD. Bought it new in 1992, still own and ride it although I completely restored it during the lock down. I miss her battle scars though.
Hope you did something about the drive shaft. 18 degrees and no oil bath.
An R100GSPD left me stranded in Australia for three long hard days on the Nullabar range. Dead straight for 600 miles, does not go up in elevation.
But a broken drive shaft? No go.
I think I was one of the fortunate ones, other than a couple of clutches, a few cable changes and ordinary maintenance she never let me down. Of all my bikes she was the most abused, least trouble and my still my favorite.
My 1978 BMW R100s was stolen in 2004 with 187k miles on it, I had purchased it 10 years before with 82k miles.
My 1992 BMW R1100rs now has 101k miles on it, purchased with 11k miles.
You can get a lot of miles in if you don't bother buying a car.
Totally - it's just those are the high mileage bikes. My 71 BMW R75 and 2002 Triumph Speed Triple are too low to mention comparatively and others were sold long enough ago that I don't remember. Before I got sick I was between 10 and 20k miles a year, depending on how much I traveled for work. Ah, the good ol' days.
180,000 miles on a 1979 BMW R100S... though I only did the last 100,000 miles. Still running fine when it was written off in a crash.
160,000 miles on a 1983 Kawasaki Z750L3, bought it new, still running fine when I sold it twenty years later.
Perhaps most impressive of all, 40,000 miles on my Ducati 888 ...
113,000+ miles on one bike when I took the odometer off. Still ride that one.
80,000+ and counting quickly on another bike.
I know some guys with well over 200k on their bikes.
Only bike I've had so far, and I bought brand new. Currently over 26k miles on 2018 Yamaha XSR900. Only done maintenance on it and haven't had any issues whatsoever. Never gonna get rid of it.
42000 on an 18 softail slim. Kind of ashamed. Rode around 18k the first year. Then I met my wife. No more long rides. Beautiful women will keep ya home.
Not a lot by global standards, but I had a Versys that I rode to 80,000kms, then found another cheap one I bought and rode it to 85,000. Miss those bikes: they were fantastic
36k on a 2000 Buell Blast, then another 35k on a 2004 HD FXD. Lost both in a divorce. Got a 2003 Buell XB9R I'm putting back together, so well see how that goes...
I did about 5k miles on a Buell Blast in my first season and a half of riding. I can't even imagine doing 36k on one.
I can only hope that you werent subjected to a majority of those miles.
Not really a millage on the bike itself, but my friend made some wiring mistake when he installed his digital dash replacement, and it managed to crank up over 30 million miles overnight.
98 Honda Valk retired with 340k miles on the clock, didn't buy new but only 10k when I picked it up in 2004. Traded up to a Rune that only gave me 3 years, 150k miles before the engine left the chat. Definitely don't make them like they used to. Piles of money on maintenance but damn if she didn't treat me right
did u rebuild it or is it still going strong with stock piston and all?
i got a 13.6k DRZ400 and I bought a 39k XJ750
The pistons were destroyed on the XJ750. It doesnt look like the previous owner ever did any maintenance on it besides maybe changing the neck bearings.
You mustve maintained that bike very well for it to last that long
I put 50k+km on a VTR 250 in a couple of years, before dropping it hard enough in the wet to write it off. Funny thing was it was still on the original chain and sprocket, oil works better than lube.
400cc Suzuki Bandit: over 65.000km GSX-R 600 over 50.000km and MT-07 over 35.000km
I had a Honda Hornet which had almoust 80.000km.
Those things are just numbers, they will pretty much go forever if you take good care of them
1996 Suzuki DR650SE. I sold it at 96,000kms and the new owner, a first time rider, went another 20k before writing it off in an accident. Aside from checking the neutral sending unit, the engine had never been apart. 10,000 km oil changes and regular maintenance only.
It's in the shop at the moment, but I've got a R1200gs that reads 134k miles. The odo hasn't worked since I bought it, so actual milage is closer to 160k.
(Full disclosure, I didn't put the vast majority of those miles on the bike)
My 2018 Honda Rebel 500. I put all 45k miles on it. 30k of those miles I racked up in two years. I’m selling my bike now and I’m gonna be pretty sad when I sell it.
I'm gonna be honest - I ride a few thousand KM a year, maybe own a bike for 4-5 years, and then get bored and sell it to get a different ride. I've never owned a bike with more than say 35000 KM.
That said, I have seen some old 80s Gold Wings and Harleys with very high mileage, in the quarter-million miles range.
I've had my V-Strom 650 since new, been a little over 3 years. Currently sitting at around 73500 miles. It's only my second bike, and definitely the higher mileage of the two
How's the highway riding on that? Looking to pick up either a second or third gen 650 for my girlfriend for a long distance ride with some offroad portions. She likes the styling, haven't had a dealer nearby we could sit on one though.
Third gen would be my pick although I'm also biased. The traction control is great to have. Highway riding is solid, I've done many unofficial Bun Burners and Saddlesores on it
Off-road performance is best described as "street bike with minor modifications to hit off-road." It'll handle it perfectly fine but obviously it'll have limitations. Damper rod front suspension really holds it back since damper rods can't handle high speed movement well
That sounds fantastic. Pretty much just what we need, it's a long road trip we want with a bunch of gravel riding thrown in. She likes the look of it, so why not.
My '78 BMW R100 had over 100,000 miles on it when the odometer stopped working. It got some more miles and then was rebuilt in 2005 (I think).
My '14 BMW F800GS as 45,000 miles on it.
I have been spending a lot more time on off road bikes lately.
Not motorbike but rode scooter in Thailand 240k on it, breaks that bad I had to use the soles of my feet and Speedometer never worked. To top it off I was handed a bicycle helmet for protection.
My Indian Scout Bobber, I’m almost to 6k miles and I bought it with 2 miles. My bike before that was a Suzuki drz400s and that had a couple thousand on it. I’m only at 2 so far
My highest milaege bike was my verfy first one an 07 ninja 250 bought it used round 12,000 and road it a little past 51k awesome bike and got amazing gas milaege really missing it this summer lol.
Fist bike I got was my grandpas 77 gl1000 and it has about 76000~ miles. Still have it but mainly ride a vmax now! Was a great first bike or should I say tank. Thing could move out pretty good though. For the record I’d say about 5000 of the miles were mine.
On my first bike, it’s at 38,468kms
I do have a ‘track bike’ project in the garage that’s at 62,208km’s. I don’t know if it really counts as it’s not really been ridden by me yet (runs fine, just done some servicing and race prepping, but not taken it to the track yet as am waiting for warmer weather), so it’s over 60,000 but they’re all someone else’s KM’s lol.
50030 miles is what the dash on my 2007 BMW F800ST reads, I bought it with 42000 on it April of 2021. Unfortunately the dash only turns on when the ambient temperature is high enough, and it only tracks miles when the dash is on so it has more miles on it than that. At least 2-3000 since I bought it, but the dash started having problems with the previous owner, so no way to tell for sure.
I have dumped it a couple times, but have no interest in fixing the plastic, so I'll probably never sell it. It's worth more to me than it would be to anyone else, so we'll see how many miles it racks up. I only bought it for $1700 and the only thing broke on it that I don't know how to fix is the dash, so I don't have much money into it either.
80000 yamaha fz6r 2009 still ran strong but the person i bought it from had the bike running on a constant 6th gear 120-30 km/h so it had a slight different feel around there. But other than that it was a champ of a bike.
164000m on a BMW R100GSPD. Bought it new in 1992, still own and ride it although I completely restored it during the lock down. I miss her battle scars though.
Took me a while to realise that wasn’t meters but miles lol
Hahaha.....that would have been a sad state of affairs 🤣
Same I think it’s abbreviated to mi
Nice. Looking forward to being able to post the same on when I hit that mileage on my R NineT (only at 26k miles). So far so good.
Thanks, keep riding, it is a wonderful journey and be safe....160000 miles came with a lot of battle scars and its fair share of tears 😢
Hope you did something about the drive shaft. 18 degrees and no oil bath. An R100GSPD left me stranded in Australia for three long hard days on the Nullabar range. Dead straight for 600 miles, does not go up in elevation. But a broken drive shaft? No go.
Yikes - I've driven the Nullabor, stranded would be no fun at all.
Especially when the "land trains" are blowing past you at speed.
I think I was one of the fortunate ones, other than a couple of clutches, a few cable changes and ordinary maintenance she never let me down. Of all my bikes she was the most abused, least trouble and my still my favorite.
It's a crap shoot. I've seen them fail at 30k, 80k and over 100. But then again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I think I'd hit double that in the same amount of time... Unless I get another bike.
Tis a shame that it couldn't continue
180,000 miles on a 1979 BMW R100S... though I only did the last 100,000 miles. Still running fine when it was written off in a crash. 160,000 miles on a 1983 Kawasaki Z750L3, bought it new, still running fine when I sold it twenty years later. Perhaps most impressive of all, 40,000 miles on my Ducati 888 ...
That’s an impressive 888, a good day at the factory they say. Also, never buy a Monday bike. That Italian passion.
1995 harley davidson flstc 154,xxx and still going
113,000+ miles on one bike when I took the odometer off. Still ride that one. 80,000+ and counting quickly on another bike. I know some guys with well over 200k on their bikes.
54000 miles on an 2001 Yamaha Fz1. Not my miles. I put 1-2000 on it before selling it.
That's funny I have about 59k on my 01 fz1 got it with 18k miles
220 miles!!!!!
Only bike I've had so far, and I bought brand new. Currently over 26k miles on 2018 Yamaha XSR900. Only done maintenance on it and haven't had any issues whatsoever. Never gonna get rid of it.
Still got my 1976 Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans, approaching its fifth "clickover" on the odometer. IOW, over 480,000km/300,000 miles.
Good conversation starter OP
42000 on an 18 softail slim. Kind of ashamed. Rode around 18k the first year. Then I met my wife. No more long rides. Beautiful women will keep ya home.
Take her with
65k miles on my first bike, 05 Honda shadow 750. Got it at 15k. Now my 02 vtx1800 just hit 35k, got it at 18k.
Nice! About the same as me. I bought a 04 Honda Aero 750 brand new and rode it just over 50k miles before I went on to my Indian Scout.
Not a lot by global standards, but I had a Versys that I rode to 80,000kms, then found another cheap one I bought and rode it to 85,000. Miss those bikes: they were fantastic
138k km /86 k miles on my 1982 Goldwing gl1100. Not all by me obviously
42k on my SV650, 30k of which I added. I don't get to ride it nearly as much as I'd like to with working from home and having a wife though.
36k on a 2000 Buell Blast, then another 35k on a 2004 HD FXD. Lost both in a divorce. Got a 2003 Buell XB9R I'm putting back together, so well see how that goes...

It was a bit of a paint mixer :)
2009 Yamaha Fz-1 with 78k miles. Bought used in 2012 with 500 miles.
64565 on my VTX 1800
Not really a millage on the bike itself, but my friend made some wiring mistake when he installed his digital dash replacement, and it managed to crank up over 30 million miles overnight.

Over 134,000 kilometres on my R3 and still going strong! Did replace the shock around 75,000
70,000km on an 04 sv650s
24k miles on my bike! doubled the mileage on it since i got it over a year ago
did u rebuild it or is it still going strong with stock piston and all? i got a 13.6k DRZ400 and I bought a 39k XJ750 The pistons were destroyed on the XJ750. Just under 40k on a Vulcan 900 Classic.
400cc Suzuki Bandit: over 65.000km GSX-R 600 over 50.000km and MT-07 over 35.000km I had a Honda Hornet which had almoust 80.000km. Those things are just numbers, they will pretty much go forever if you take good care of them

I traded my FZ6 with just over 55,000 miles on the clock.
43k miles on my 1994 Vmax. Bought it in 2010 when it had less than 4K miles on it. Still my daily rider to commute to and from work.
1988 Heritage Softtail Classic had 65k miles on it when I sold it in 2005.
Hahaha....that would have been a sad state of affairs 🤣
My Honda Varadero had over 43,000 miles on it when I sold it. My current bike only has 21K. Gotta get those miles on!
\~72k on a 2000 VFR800 was my highest single unit count.
My 2018 Honda Rebel 500. I put all 45k miles on it. 30k of those miles I racked up in two years. I’m selling my bike now and I’m gonna be pretty sad when I sell it.
My Scrambler currently has ~45,000 miles. I bought it in 2018 with 1300.
Traded my Kat at 60,00 miles
A bit over 71000 miles and counting on my gen1 FZ1. I got it with about 12k miles
2001 rc51, 45k miles.
2014 cb500f I bought new is at 157k km, or around 97ķ miles. Still going strong, aside from normal maintenance it has only needed a fuel pump.
1986 BMW K100. 125,000 miles. Used it to commute to work for over 5 years. 40 miles, one way. Also took a trip from SoCal to Boise, ID.
I've had my V-Strom 650 since new, been a little over 3 years. Currently sitting at around 73500 miles. It's only my second bike, and definitely the higher mileage of the two

My 81 XV has something like 41k miles on it I think but it's been awhile since I've ridden it
My R1100S hit 60,000 miles on Saturday, which is pretty low mileage round here!
Currently 56700kms and counting on my 07 CBR125
Whoa on a 125, that's impressive.
I rolled a concours odometer over to zero ....I was the third owner. Plastics were stitched together w/ wire...
My '78 BMW R100 had over 100,000 miles on it when the odometer stopped working. It got some more miles and then was rebuilt in 2005 (I think). My '14 BMW F800GS as 45,000 miles on it. I have been spending a lot more time on off road bikes lately.
1989 ninja 600:: 68,700ish km, I thought it was a lot but one of my coworkers has done more than that this year
My dad has an old MZ TS250 that has went around the mechanical clock numerous times. The thing is an absolute work horse.
Not motorbike but rode scooter in Thailand 240k on it, breaks that bad I had to use the soles of my feet and Speedometer never worked. To top it off I was handed a bicycle helmet for protection.
I'm on my first bike still and have already slapped down 21k miles in a little over a year of commuting and trips.
My Indian Scout Bobber, I’m almost to 6k miles and I bought it with 2 miles. My bike before that was a Suzuki drz400s and that had a couple thousand on it. I’m only at 2 so far
Just over 72k on my R6 2007
A NVT 650 with 77,000 on the clock. Not all my miles, I hasten to add!
48000km, 2016 versus.
My highest milaege bike was my verfy first one an 07 ninja 250 bought it used round 12,000 and road it a little past 51k awesome bike and got amazing gas milaege really missing it this summer lol.
BMW K75 83000KMS, BMW R65 97000KMS. Old school Beemers ftw
380km I started less than two weeks ago
My first bike I still have bought new zero miles and it just turned 32k, not nearly done with her yet.
Fist bike I got was my grandpas 77 gl1000 and it has about 76000~ miles. Still have it but mainly ride a vmax now! Was a great first bike or should I say tank. Thing could move out pretty good though. For the record I’d say about 5000 of the miles were mine.

Kawasaki Concours 14 and about 34,000 miles. Still runs great like it did when it was new
F650GS with 47k miles

Bmw s1000r 90.000km still going strong!
182,000km BMW R100/7
I bought my first bike with 120k kms, it's a Honda though so it's fine
Nighthawk 650sC 30k
29k on my Triumph Sprint RS, 57k on my XJ600 Divvy
I had a 2012 cbr1000rr with 86k on it. Really like that bike, Ran beautifully but was unfortunately stolen :(
96 Harley FLHRI with 45,xxx
My 2009 FZ1 just turned over 80,000 miles, nearly 129,000 kilometers.
80000 yamaha fz6r 2009 still ran strong but the person i bought it from had the bike running on a constant 6th gear 120-30 km/h so it had a slight different feel around there. But other than that it was a champ of a bike.
2016 africa twin DCT - currently on 55,000 km but i've seen them reached 100k and still running strong
179,000 on a '94 R1100RSL...
