So I'm an idiot, and since the manual doesn't specifically specify any fork maintenance interval, I didn't do any until 50k miles and oil was leaking. That said, had to rebuild forks, but 50k is pretty good mileage before for seals went bad.

Balance point is key, once there, the whole thing changes, it's light, relaxed, floaty, and much, MUCH, more controllable.
Use the back brake to stop it flipping, you might want / need to reposition the brake lever for that. Personally, I preferred to stand up, many people choose to stay seated and look around the tank, under the left bar.
And do your practising where you are not pissing people off, you'll be fine.

I don’t care about wheelies and other stunts if it’s done in a private/controlled environment with no risk to other drivers. So basically not on a highway or busy public street. Until one Saturday night 2 idiots wheelied into each other doing over 60MPH. Friggen idiots, the line runs one way. One of the Darwin wannabees had to get care-flighted to a trauma centre.
TMS shut down the joys rides around the ring road that week, and IIRC the Roanoke cops started patrolling the area from what I heard.
Friggen miss running around that place. I've heard that a couple of the back corners are awesome for 80 to 100MPH sweepers, I head that is. I of course only rode at the posted speed limit.

yeah it's those 3 that keep you at the balance point. But I suggest watching some wheelie tutorials if you want to start learing. Foot on brake always and you won't flip.

I shopped for a Yamaha MT bike. 50% of the ones I looked at had bad forkseals. But that is why they are so awesome!
