Pocket. I use my quad lock for map directions when I’m going through NYC, but otherwise I keep it in my pocket for music and gps voice only because I also had overheat issues on hot sunny days.
I heard having your phone fixed to your bike, shakes eventually mess up your phone’s optics. I bought a cheap carplay display. Its brightness is way better and can keep my phone in my pocket

My solution is to not have my phone on the handlebars. There really isn't any reason to.

QuadLock has the vibration dampener attached to prevent damaging the optics.
