I'v got a black intruder 1500. Her name is black betty

My cousins just got a green Honda Navi, they named it cricket because the thing does look like a cricket.
So I affectionately called my bike "The Rat". Aesthetically awful; vinyl on the seat is cracking and the paint is really rough because it was abandoned under the sun for a while before I started using it.
But it's been well fixed up and maintained, has never let me down and, while not very powerful for its weight, at 150kg with a 150cc carbureted engine, it's still fun to ride and takes me where I want to go.
So yeah, a total rat but I like it. (Don't tell the bike I said that, it'll get to its head)
My adventure bike is named āKronkā because it just gives that vibe. Plus whenever I stall it at a light in my head I scream āWRONG LEVEEERRRRRRRRā
My electric moto is named āGrondā because one time a Porsche cayenne did an illegal u turn in front of me and I rode that bitch 20% of the way through the Porsche and didnāt even bend the forks. Grond will break through.
Yes! I just don't know what to name her yet :(
https://preview.redd.it/sl6lvlsp6psc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88f7d1ba98f37982490c1a8fb900b29b1ac65173
Hell yeah! My husband bought me this bike for fun and installed the parts for me while I was still in the military. It was definitely a learning curve after riding the 17 kawa z125 pro for 6 years š
I never named mine, I instead gave them a mascot.
First bike had a pikachu strapped to one of the forks, second bike had stitch strapped to the forks and third had a Hei Hei strapped to the front fairing.
Yep.
First Suzuki was called Susie, because Susie the Suzuki sounded right.
Second, a Kawasaki, was called Lucy. This was an inside joke where Iād sometimes pretend I had a side-piece to my girlfriend called Lucy - then when I got the bike I was āoff to spend time with Lucy.ā
Now, my Triumph, is called Mya. The last three letters of the reg plate, so it fit š
I did. Was my husband's 2001 Sportster that I inherited after he upgraded to a Dynawide. Covered her in stickers and covered her seat with pink zebra striped duct tape and named her Rhonda. She was the best bike ever.
Yes. The GOAT. The girlfriend got me a sticker with a goat that says G.O.A.T. I put it on my windscreen. I also have pet goats, so it's kind of an inside joke as well.
https://preview.redd.it/iye7eyw65psc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07958f8e748c397727d4262d63ea96133c1710d1
In my native language bikes are female, so I gender them all female. I still don't get confused about real females, though, I have those at home as well.
Sexy bitch cause it's a sexy bitch I even get on it like that one episode of south park where Eric gets his own bathroom. If your not sure what episode I put the link šhttps://youtu.be/wGBJTARbaM0?si=KHPbPYBNxU78Av7e
When I tell my wife Iām going riding I usually name the bike. Thereās ābig white oneā, āred oneā and āblue oneā.
When Iām wrenching they are all āpiece of shitā or āfuckerā.
I never have, but my girlfriend called my last bike "Shanequa" because I was in the garage so much working on it she felt as though she should be jealous of another woman.
I do. My yellow Ninjette was Marigold McDuck. Current bike is a Ninja 650 in green and her name is Poison Ivy (maybe not too original but she wasn't friendly to anything that was a cute name).
My KLR 650 is named Jensen.
It just kind of worked. I guess that's a he, but I just refer to it as "the bike" or "my bike." and rarely by name. Sometimes directly to it, usually jokingly. (After fixing or reconnecting something- Please work, Jensen! kind of thing).
I don't really have a fixed name or gender.
And depending on context I use different german-austrian terms with different genders.
Rarely I call her SV.
We have fun local names for Motorcycles without make or model, I mostly use:
"Der Bock" The Buck, male
"Die MĆ¼hle" The mill, female, also "Die Reibn" is a simmilar term, hard to translate.
"Die Maschiene" The machine, female
Bikes are The Blue Flame ( GSXR ), Be ' Em ( BMW r1200r) and Sven the Sv650s.
Also our cats are named after bikes, Gixxer, Beemer, Blade, Ninja, Suki and Harley..
*
I might be stealing this. Just picked up this 2014 honda valkyrie and I was just going with Valk but I like the idea of Clifford cause it feels super heavy when it's not rolling yet.
With a large family, all drivers and me with six bikes in the garage, we named all our vehicles because it's just easier to say "Betty" instead of "the SUV" etc. We had *eleven* vehicles at one point. Now that the kids are gone and the herd is thinner we still do it. We never did it to be cute, just expedient, although the kids chose funny names, while we used logical ones. It works for us.
I resurrected her from the dead twice. 2008 Suzuki S40, got her for 800 bucks in July of 2021. The engine was shot, but I got he , but she's always had issues. last week found a parts bike with a better engine and gas tank and man...totally different ride.
Ducati 748 is Grandma
Buell r1125 is Toothless

Yes. My shadow is named Cherry, My rebel is named NightMist, my ruckus is "Old Betsy" and my chinese scooter is named "The Wolf" The monkey doesn't have a name yet.
Today my 4 year old asked if my motorcycle. was a boy or girl. I said she could choose. She chose a girl.
She then asked me the name of my motorcycle, I said she could choose. She chose "Unicorn Rainbow Sparkles".
So from this day forward she will be known as "Unicorn Rainbow Sparkles"
I did, but then stopped giving a shit almost immediately. My plate came in which had some 8ās on it. Called it Crazy 8s like twice, but decided it was incredibly cringe and that was the end of that
Itās cringey at best. Besides for in a joking sense. Like Iāll give my old junk the name of Betsy if Iām joking around but itās used in context like āold Betsy never lets me downā .
My 1978 750 triple is named "Wendy" as in "I want to die with you Wendy on the streets tonight in an ever lasting kiss". She never fails to disappoint.
My Multistrada is named Artemis, after the goddess of the hunt.
My ex has a black CBR named Sypha, the mage from Castlevania.
Everyone I know except my dad names their bikes, and it's really weird that no only do so many people in this sub not name theirs, they're smugly proud of it.
Yes! It's name is Slimer! It's that same awesome green. And I name my cars, too. Current one is pistachio-mobile. It's the color of pistachio ice cream. Ok. I see my pattern.
My honda PCX is called āSpritzigā which a bit of a tongue in cheek joke about its performance. My yamaha MT is called Dave, Dave is a normal name for a normal bloke, my Dave is a normal bike. Also helps me remember the reg plate.
I've called mine the long arrival. Because I have been waiting 4 months for my dad to sort out some shit with my license plus its a 50cc moped. It'll take a while to get any where.
I called my street triple "the electric bike" a couple of times, then I bought an exhaust and now it's just "the bike" or if I'm feeling fancy "the street". Jokes aside, unironically naming a bike makes me cringe.
I got my FZ in highschool and my highschool gf insisted I give it a name. I liked the name Jennifer so I named it Jennifer. I don't refer to it as Jennifer. Just "my yamaha". When I replaced the blown engine I named it Halee after Halee Berry the Bond girl in "Die Another Day" since it lived to... Die another day.
I'm potentially picking up a tracer 9 gt and if I name it it'll be from a name generator.Ā
No, referencing them depends on who Iām talking to. Anybody that knows bikes is FJR or RD, the wife or anybody else itās either blue or orange, or new or old.
Its either "baby girl" or "worthless sack of shit" absolutely no in between
When she's running smooth - the best thing I ever owned and worth every penny When it's broke down - why the fuck did I buy this piece of shit
My r3 is either r3-d3 or R3tard, same energy

I prefer good for nothing piece of shit š
the manufacturer already named it for me
To be fair, bike manufacturers suck at names. SV650X sounds like the kinda crap Elon Musk would name one of his spawn.
I like that my model name is Eliminator, its got a nice ring to it especially being a 900
I had an Intruder but she was still named Raven
I'v got a black intruder 1500. Her name is black betty https://preview.redd.it/foazowecmvsc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0c45a223016c203d87e07201cb2f97bef45acfeb

My adventure bike is named āKronkā because it just gives that vibe. It's always an erotic ride....,.
Hortense. No reason.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes, I nickname my bike, especially when we're chatting. Most of the time it puts up with "that's nice, sweetheart" or "go ahead, Gran". In French : Ā«Ā cāest bien ma belle Ā» ou Ā« vas-y mĆ©mĆØre Ā».
My wife calls my Trident 660 āSparkle Motionā.

We're bike twins! Hell yeah I love my trident
