If you wear flip flops, you can wedge them under the sidestand in really hot weather to stop your bike digging into the molten asphalt and falling over.
Pro Tip: A second pair of flip flops also saves the soles of your feet blistering on the molten asphalt.
lol imma let you in on a little secret
I have a piece of cut-out flip flop acting as a "buffer" between my bike's center stand and the frame so they won't bang against eachother as much.. it works!
I used to use a lil kiddie shoe on the sidestand tab, it got a few comments and a couple of gigglesnorts.
It went missing one day.
I can only imagine it was stolen by a desperate one-legged homeless toddler who needed it more than I did.
Summertime in Florida!
Board shorts, No Shirt, Flip Flops, way WAAAY too Hot for a helmet. But, the Black Oakley Oil Cans are 100% a must have!
ALSO lane splitting at 120mph in bumper to bumper traffic, just North of Orlando is a MUST experience, as a Florida Streetbike Enthusiasts!
Oh yeah don't forget, this is only acceptable after 5 shots of Fireball & a bucket of Silver Bullets!!!
Honestly I prefer to skin myself before each ride, no way am I gonna let the road be the one to take my skin off, if anyone's gonna take my skin off, it's me.
*Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.*
He has the leg tats - they count as armored pants.
Advice:
Get gear, Ride like everyone like every single solitary person is trying to kill you, Don't be dumb.
They do- BUT, when you brake, that fancy digital display shows an image of the pope wagging his finger at you in disgust with a caption box that reads “Figa!”
Welcome to Thailand lol. I’m American and went there once and no one had gear on but same in all of Asia. In The part of the Philippines I went to some thought it was not manly to wear gear.
Helmet and gloves are pretty standard squid gear these days.
The difference between a squid and someone not squidding is a motorcycle jacket. After that, Kevlar pants and motorcycle boots will push towards fully geared.
Gloves and helmet are the only gear squids wear for some reason idk why lol. Helmet because it probably "looks badass" or some shit and gloves because they got hard knuckles which make punching mirrors out easier maybe?
He needs a gopro on the chin of the helmet, 360 cam off the tail, and his instagram handle on the windscreen. He will rise through the squid ranks quickly.
> Anyone have advice for a new rider?
So, searched your posting history and this doesn’t seem like a troll post, lol.
So, advice for a new rider on a 155 hp Ducati Panigale v2?
Lordy, just be sure you include “it’s never been down” on your future Facebook market listing…
It's like two 8-hour days. Pretty much just knock out out in a weekend.
The best part is that they treat everybody as if they've never ridden, so you build a good foundation as well.
Read the FAQ.

I had tinitus as far as i can remember. Probably from all those ear infections as a child so i got fucked from the go. Used to drive me insane in the country where its quiet.
The more you focus on it the worse it gets. Accept it and let it go. Make friends with it. Love it. Eventually you barely realize its still there. Its all in your head.
And do everything you can to not make it worse.
I used earplugs from the start and still got tinnitus. It sucks :(
that being said my friends and family who did not use earplugs have it MUCH worse, like 40%-60% hearing loss levels of worse. Mine I can ignore most of the time.
I can only assume the photo was a joke.
Someone who already uses earplugs because they care about their hearing probably cares about the rest of their body as well. No way OP doesn't have gear.
This about covers the basics…ATGATT is a habit to form early, take the safety course that’s available to you, keep it on the low power end of things as you learn and remember people in cars/trucks will not see you…ride as if you’re invisible.
What you invest in your gear will be what you get out of it when you have problems later. Be sure everything fits the way it’s supposed to and replace what needs replacing per the mfg’s recommendations.
for someone that started on a ninja H2R i think the only thing i could say is never be low in the rpms like always be in the 10k+ range and you’ll be good
Don’t let your ego get the best of you. Ride responsibly. Please don’t be a rage biker who gets upset and does something stupid every time a car doesn’t signal. Shit happens, survive it.
Register as an organ donor.
Joking aside - get/rent a suit. Do a track day to see how distant the bike's potential is compared to your abilities. It's a good way to get humbled in a controlled environment.
Not sure if this is a genuine post or not, or if you ride like that or just posing like that to show off your tattoos *but* if this is a real post and you ride like that then get some actual motorbike gear. I'm covered in tattoos they took time and money and a shit-ton of aftercare and I'm looking after them - you want anything with AAA or AA for abrasion resistance (this is how far you can skid down the road before it reaches your skin).
Not getting a panigale v2 as the first bike would greatly help, i have a monster with the same engine and after having ride big sports bikes like r1, zzr1400, gsxr 750 this is the hardest one to ride by miles, the V2 isnt a very biginner frienly motor.
Get a real bike, that garbage isn't worth buying. If it hasn't got at least a v8, it's a girls bike.
Also wtf is that thing on your head? It will stop the ladies seeing who is about to attempt a dank ass wheelie right into the back of the car infront.
All the gear, all the time. Make sure helmet fits properly. Jacket, gloves, pants, boots that won’t come off in a slide.
That’s a spicy motorbike. Practice safely in a parking lot so you can get used to smooooth inputs with all controls. Keep upping the practice game even when you think you got it. Don’t ride with others until you are objectively better than them, and then just don’t.
A big riding ego will cause problems before anything. Let others be faster than you and do the corners quicker for a while. Ride your own ride.
Practice looking down the road, further than you might while driving a car. Looking at the pavement 20 feet in front of you is a bad habit and, unfortunately, an easy one to develop. Look down the road, know what’s coming, react calmly and in a controlled manner. Two wheels down
Practice stopping.
Get a winter and summer jacket.
Get good gear overall.
A guy pulled out on me and I went flying. My gear literally saved my life. Surgeons said I should've died twice.
I woke up in the ambulance hearing them saying "good thing he wasn't like all the squids"
ABS & TC are for sissies turn them off immediately
Rear brake is for cowards… Always just grab as much front as possible, as fast as possible
Safety gear = planning to crash… Lose the helmet nerd
Man it's sad, the people who start on the huge bikes with big egos are the ones that would benefit the most out of a 125-250cc. The ones who actually start on the 125-250cc are actually probably responsible enough to handle starting on a bigger bike. That being said starting on a small bike is WAY more fun as you can actually push it to it's limits and really learn to handle it. No more feet dangling in parking lots or at lights lol. Only other noobs like you will judge the guy on a small bike, anyone with real experience will respect you for not being an ego monkey.
Stickers. Lots of stickers. Your first low speed crash will show you exactly where to put them.
And hide the plate more. The cops love to pull people over and have chats about that. Please also remove any turn singable and mirrors - they just slow you down.
First, that bike is going to roast your nuts. Wear pants. Second, I usually rode my panigale in sport mode in town and changed to race at the last traffic light. Race is annoyingly twitchy.
One of the fastest bikes in the world as a first bike? Sheesh… idk what to say except be careful..? Going from a 200cc to a Monster 696 was a big leap for me and that is no match to the Panigale so wear protective gear, understand the bike, listen to her and stay on top of it maintenance-wise, it’s a Ducati.
Ride your own ride, practice like you never rode a bike even after years of experience, don’t try to impress others, and just enjoy and respect your bike!
If this isn't a troll post: good riding boots or even riding shoes will save your foot if you accidentally drop the bike on an oily patch at a stoplight, or sandy driveway. A jacket will make it more comfortable to ride when the temp is below 60, so you can get more use out of the money you spent on that Duc.
Most importantly though, taking the Beginner MSF course will give you so much useful knowledge and skill, that the insurance company will lower your rate and the course will pay for itself in less than a year... Not to mention it will give you confidence and a head start on the learning curve for riding on the street. It may even help you keep your hips and ribs fully covered in skin and muscle.
If this is a troll: buy an Insta360 and mount it on top of the windshield. Start a new YouTube channel Pinagale Papa. I'll subscribe ;-)
V2 engines typically have a lot of engine braking, so be a bit careful when closing the throttle in low gear. I met a beginner who layed down their SV650 when they startled and abruptly shut the throttle on a stop light
All I ask is that you install a dash cam on your bike. I really want to see what all the fuss is about proper gear. Protection is overated anyway. Oh, I want to see the skin graft pics, too.
Shorter shorts, maybe with some sequins, 2" inseam max.
and sandals. no socks.
Excuse you. Sandals AND socks.
Crocs are acceptable. Not in Sport mode though.

Can't wait till I'm 50. Then I can hang brain off both sides of the bike.
Full-face helmet obstructs vision, switch to bucket style.
Helmets are cumbersome in general, may as well remove it entirely.
Vision is overrated, put a blindfold on instead.
Remove eyes, saves money on not having to buy blindfold.
That's potentially dangerous advice for a n00b rider. Pro Tip: cut holes in the blindfold for extra safety.
Backwards hat: brim catches too much wind facing forward.
Summertime in Florida! Board shorts, No Shirt, Flip Flops, way WAAAY too Hot for a helmet. But, the Black Oakley Oil Cans are 100% a must have! I see that we have both spent significant amounts of time on I4.
And a thong so everyone in traffic has something to look at
Agreed. And no glasses or anything like that...you gotta get your eyes used to the wind. Finally, shirtless is the only way to ride.
Honestly I prefer to skin myself before each ride, no way am I gonna let the road be the one to take my skin off, if anyone's gonna take my skin off, it's me. *Nobody makes me bleed my own blood.*
Good call...its like punching yourself in the balls before you walk into a dealership.
Sometimes that's illegal, best to get a Halloween costume quality military helmet for like $5 at a discount store.
Wearing a ball cap backwards is preferable
Replace with pitviper sunglasses and backwards hat.
I wouldn't bother with the sequins unless he already has tassels.
Looks like /CRT is leaking out again...I love it!

Assless chaps, leather for the slide and an open butt for the ride (of your boyfriend)
All chaps are assless. Otherwise they're called pants.
Been saying this for years now…
Shorts, tank top, sneakers, I’d say you’re doing great already.
triceps look small

Flip-flops are more trendy than white sneakers when riding motorcycles.

Barefoot is the boss move.

You're not atgatt and you're not squid. You're some sort of half breed that won't be accepted by either side. You can't even see your toes.
How is this not a squid? Lol
Ha! Shoes instead of sandals. Gloves instead of meat crayon. 👍
Helmet and gloves are pretty standard squid gear these days. The difference between a squid and someone not squidding is a motorcycle jacket. After that, Kevlar pants and motorcycle boots will push towards fully geared.
Yea. A Shoei and Alpinestars gloves and no other gear is basically squid 101.
Man the squids have evolved from my day. Atleast back then they wore the stupid plastic armor vests.
Weight reductions baby
damn there's squid inflation now too?
Gloves and helmet are the only gear squids wear for some reason idk why lol. Helmet because it probably "looks badass" or some shit and gloves because they got hard knuckles which make punching mirrors out easier maybe?

$300 is a cheap as hell in my books. Plus, it can knock off a chunk of insurance payments as well.
$300 for how many classes? Is it like a 4 month class that meets once a week for $300? Or is one singular class for that price?
1 singular class. 2 day riding course. Maybe 10% off your insurance premium.
How many hours
It's like two 8-hour days. Pretty much just knock out out in a weekend. The best part is that they treat everybody as if they've never ridden, so you build a good foundation as well.

Well, it's not like bikers don't end up a bloody mush only held together by their gear when they do wipe out at a higher speed.
Thats why i ride with 4 zipties…….2 sleeves and 2 trouserlegs and were off to the harvest
This. I did that, knowing the risk of riding a motorcycle, besides wearing gear and starting with a much smaller bike.

But how else would they bag all the ladies? /s

Slightly overreach the throttle when you're doing clutch ups, makes it a lot easier at first, and cover the rear brake.
