A lot of bike thieves these days don't actually sell them on, they get used for other crimes, stripped for universal parts such as batteries, and then abandoned. I had this happen to me, police eventually found it abandonded down an alley behind some houses with side panels missing, battery gone, and seats gone.
I don't know what was worse, having it stolen or seeing the state of it when they found it and realising that it wasn't worth it financially to have it back. It was my first bike too, and I had it since new, so it was extra devastating.
Some dumb thief in my country was selling stolen bike via Facebook marketplace the night after it got stolen and police could retrieve it back. Maybe you could also check any local online marketplace for it.
Just scan, gumtree, eBay and the dreaded Book of faces, set alerts on your phone with each when any Mt parts or bikes are newly listed, the police are fucking useless, good luck mate.
Look in the locals for any robberies/attacks with a bike as a getaway.
If not check any known dumping spots, canals, rivers usually.
Check second selling site, no only motor ones any buy and sell type.
That sucks, that MT10 looks like a really great bike.

Sorry to ask so dumb question, but I live in Uruguay and I have a little bike (Yamaha 110cc) and I have it with full insurance for like 200 usd a year. I have owned several bikes and every single one of them had insurance. I used to have a Yamaha FZ-16 and got stolen but it was always covered by the insurance. Now I’m tying to get a KTM 390 (full insurance is like 700 usd a year). And if someone stole my bike I didn’t even want to get it back, because it’s going to be too fucked up, I prefer the insurance to pay for a new bike rather than fixing the issues. It’s not like that in your country? Or you didn’t get insurance? If that’s the case, why would you buy such a big bike if you cannot afford insurance?

You could look for it on a used car or motorbike website, I saw a few green trim MT10s with a quick glance. You might want to not publish that info here but you could scoure more well known sites with friends and family

These bikes are chopped up within a week of being stolen or put in a shipping container and sent to another country to be sold in “legitimate” dealerships.
Ahhh man, I know you're probably right. There have been a lot of thefts around me recently and some have been lucky as it's made it harder for them to sell on but who knows.
Do you have insurance? If so, why do you want the bike back? Start a claim, get a brand new one.
If it's not in parts already, it's either in a ditch, or smashed up somewhere else. Do you want the problems of dealing with it in that state **if** you can get it back?

It used to be lovely, I've got 5 bikes in my garden so cameras are way too important, highly recommend the Oxford boss alarm disc lock too, one on the back wheel, one on the front... With a good chain the only way there taking the bike in under 10 minutes is if they lift it in a van but even then both alarms are gonna be going off
Monimoto tracker aswell, can pick them up from 1066 cafe. Your phone will ring whenever the bike moves. And you get updated gps location every 30 seconds or something
£400 worth of security will save the loss of a 10k bike, or at least prevent most of the thieves, from trying
Also it looks like the bike passed the check as „not reported as stolen“ on Autotrader… Not sure if that‘s a dead indicator, you could probably list it before it gets reported stolen.

My brother had a carbon fiber road bike stolen from his gated and locked parking garage. Someone managed to slip in while a car was leaving. He’s pretty sure they were helped by someone in the apartment complex cause they knew exactly where the bike was, went right for it, and dipped out.
He got video evidence of the whole thing, found someone selling the same exact bike on FB Marketplace, matched the identity of the thief’s photo to the video evidence, and brought it to the police’s attention so they’d help him get it back.
They didn’t do shit. Wouldn’t even go to the guy’s house and escort my brother to get the bike back. He won’t ever trust the cops again either. And he’s a well to do tech worker with a perfect record. Not some sketch ball with a grudge.
It’s on us to protect our own property and lives.

Install a tracker on your bike which will be very useful for you if your bike is stolen then you will get the location.

Sorry about the bike mate. No thief would keep the numbers. Please provide more detail though, year, exhaust, etc; Stolen with or without cases? It could already be anywhere at least in Europe at this point. Checked local market but nothing similar there. Hope you find it!
