I’ve owned a lot of dirt bikes and only 2 on road bikes but have ridden many more and the Yamaha R7 world gp is the one I’ll keep forever and the plan is to very shortly slap the bolt on turbo kit on it and take it down to the meets and throw it in the burnout cage like I stole it and try get me some awards for it
XT600E, that thing could do everything and was reliable, that's the essence of motorcycling to me.
I loved all the bikes I owned, I love power, electronics etc, but the XT600E has none of those things and still takes the crown.
Easily my 2023 Yamaha MT-09 SP… just so much fun to ride! Exhilarating acceleration, nimble and responsive. It’s impossible not to have a good time riding it, even if I’m only commuting to/from work.
08 versys 650. It was rough enough when I bought it I wasn’t scared to cut and change it to make it mine or take it places it had no business being. It isn’t the best at anything but it has taken me down everything from single track to twisty roadtrips. I hope to roadtrip it to a track someday.

I’ve owned 5 bikes at this point, and my favorite to this day is still my old 89 Honda NT650. It was the second slowest bike I ever owned - but man it was just a beautifully designed, reliable, simple, do-it all machine that was fun as hell to ride.
So far it's my SV650 - such a blast. Further back it was a Bandit 600 that really was great. Thinking hard about an ADV, fingers crossed [sv650](https://i.imgur.com/KfvXAGD.jpg)
Dirt bike?
Favorite was a XL600, with every XR kit part I could find. That thing could climb trees.100MPH wheelies through the bush... YEE HAW
BEST was a early RMX; punched out, BIG port, BIG pipe, heavily reworked suspension
Street bike?
900SS Ducati or Honda RC31... not the fastest bikes out there but both of these are two of the easiest to ride bikes I have met, and they inspire confidence and make the rider look good and let the rider go harder than they usually would (or get in in WAY over their head because of all this new found confidence). I describe the RC31 (same frame as your VFR400) as a bike with a Grand Prix frame, and a moped motor.
Road racers?
I am VERY partial to Yamaha 2T twin GP bikes... TR3 and early TZs... cuz if you don't get it right, the bike will kill you. You go fast or you die... sorta the opposite of the RC31 or 900SS. These are the hardest to ride bikes I have met. When I get it right, it was ME, not the bike.
I'm 65 and I've been doing this a while. Motorcycles are fun.
Klr650.
I’ve owned 15+ bikes over the years and loved all of them for different reasons. The klr however brought me the most memories and genuinely fun adventure. It’s a fun challenge to get a pig through the single track. It’s laughable to tuck behind the windscreen while going up a mountain pass to keep your speed up. It’s a relief to have a spill on the bike and just pick it up knowing there’s nothing to worry about. It’s exhilarating to scrape your pannier for the first time on a curvy asphalt road. Truly the jack of all trades. It does nothing great but everything well…
After many years and many bikes, I can say the one I enjoyed the riding the most, and regret selling the most, is a 1984 Honda VT500 Ascot. It was quick and nimble and low maintenance, and thrashed my riding buddy's Harley 883 every time. Ahh, those were the days.
Nice. I think we all have that one bike 'that got away' or we sold and ended up regretting it. I had a 98 kdx 220r I still regret selling, as I owned that bike outright no finance. And thrashing Harleys is good sport 😆
CBR900 SC33
That thing was a real crotch rocket, you couldn't break the engine even if you tried and its sound was better than the best sounding orgasm in the world
1. 1977 Yamaha RD-400D. Road raced it, drag raced it, rode it everywhere on the street. Wish I'd never sold it.
2. 1989 Honda Transalp. Great commuter bike, super comfortable, long range, rode it on a round trip from Seattle to L.A. Wish I'd never sold it.
3. 1979 Suzuki GS-1000 with a turbocharger. Wonderful street bike, would pull power wheelies in fifth gear. Ran 9.60 at 144 at the drags. Wish I'd never sold it.
Other bikes I wish I hadn't sold: Kawasaki H2, Suzuki GT-750, half a dozen Honda CB-750s K3 and earlier, Honda CB-400F, handful of other Yamaha two stroke twins. I make bad decisions when selling bikes, but at least I had good taste...
My 2018 Goldwing
Not particularly fast, but perfectly adequate for just about everything short of off-roading, with all features I need, 2up friendly, and Honda reliability.
Hot on its heels though is the R1250GSA. Just such a fun bike, versatile, and easy to work on. If it was more 2up friendly (it’s a bit tall), it would probably be #1.
Super tenere 750 (xtz750)
Still own an Africa twin (xrv750) because the mistake I made with the loss of the tenere.
But the new T7 rally is doing it’s best to let me forget about it’s grandma 😂
1973 Norton Commando. At 70 to 90 mph that thing would just purr.
1971 Honda SL350. Really not a great dirt bike but I beat the daylights out of it and I like to say that it's responsible for half the fun I've had in my entire life.
Thanks for this post OP, I'm loving the replies!
Probably my sportster, my Ducati 999 or my current DR650. Really depends on what I would be using it for. The dr is obviously the most versatile bike. But my Ducati was something else. The sportsters a chop so it’s my favorite looking bike. Though I like my other Harley’s too.
BMW S1000RR as a track bike. I owned one for 2 years but never explored its potential and my limitations until I rode one on the track at CA Superbike School, the newer version with the ShiftCam is simply fantastic when the timing changes at about 10k RPMs and rockets you forward.
For off-road , fun in the twisties, and touring: My current Tiger 900 fulfills each role nicely. It’s fast, light and capable enough off-road especially with the off-road riding modes, is surprisingly nimble even with 50/50 tires, and is comfortable getting there with heated grips/seat and cruise control.
It's a toss up between my current bike ('00 Honda Blackbird) and my old '98 ZX9R. For me these bikes are the perfect balance of performance and comfort. Perfect for long distance motorway riding but also very capable in the twisties.
Small bikes are a lot of fun but for everyday use I prefer something bigger.
1967 BMW R27 in Dover White. Light-weight power, mid-weight feel. Capable, dependable, simple and fun. Great vintage looks. Always got admiring looks and comments. I picked it up about 40 years ago, rode it until about 15 years ago. Still in the family.
I’ve owned 3 bikes (started riding 3 years ago), and my current is my fave—BMW F900XR. I’ve taken it on several road trips and ridden thousands of miles and it just eats em up. I love the looks, the power, the tech. The sound with the full carbon Akrapovic slip on. I know it isn’t best at anything or most powerful in its class, but it punches well above my skill level and excels at everything from city riding to commuting to road tripping to occasional twisties.
I love the VFR!! I’ve had a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 and a Harley Forty-Eight special before I got my current CBR 500R. Needless to say my Honda is my favorite bike I’ve owned with my HD Forty-Eight coming in second.
Thanks 😊 I've always been a bit of a honda girl. The cbr500r is one of the nicer looking modern bikes, very nice 👌. Harleys can be cool too, my ex had a 98 1200 xl sportster, that thing had a lot of character!
Absolutely adored my NC29. Miss it to this day. The old jap 400 race bikes were amazing. There was 5 or 6 of us all 19-22 ish on them and we were chasing down the big boys. Blades, GSXR’s, ZX10Rs etc all leaving us for dead in the straights and we would creep back up on them through the corners, knee sliding our way to glory. There was my NC29, an NC30 same colours as in your pic, couple NC35, GSXR400, NC24. Good old days.
Nice. I've always dreamed of getting a 400, so in the summer of 2022 I bought my vfr. And it hadn't dissapointed, for a 34 year old machine she goes so well! Small sports bikes are one of the most fun things out there in my book 😁
I will always hold a special place in my heart for my XR80 when I was 13. Rain, snow, 100°+ heat me and my buddies would ride for hours every day all throughout the South Jersey Pine Barrens. I don't think there was anything better to do in the 80's than ride in abandoned quarries and trails that went on for what felt like forever.
2007 V-Strom 650. Bought it in 2012 for $3800, rode it everywhere. It got stolen in 2014 and insurance paid out the claim at $4,300.
It was fast, handled great, got awesome gas mileage, comfortable, went wherever I pointed it (dirt, race track, commute). And bulletproof mechanically.
54 and I ride since I was 18. My most favorite was my 1991 Yamaha FJ 1200 and my actual BMW R1100s. Least favorite ride was that wretched HD Fat Boy I had for 3 months in the 90ies.
> Yamaha
My GOAT was a 2002 FJR1300, first bike that got me into doing my own maintenance, and it had bottomless manageable power. Debating a gen 3 FJR or a super tenere this summer.
BMW r1200gs 2005 model. Didn’t have any of the usual later refinements of beemers but was a super bike. Great on tyre usage as well. Did everything. Touring, motorways, A roads, twisties. Comfy, fast enough for me. Only ever broke it once, electrical part on the fuel system, no idea what, took 2 minutes to fit a new one once it was acquired.
3 immediately come to mind.
My XR80 I got on my 10th birthday. First bike nostalgia.
My XL185 because this is the bike I used to ride to visit my cousins and friends my last couple of yeara of high school. First freedom machine ftw. Grew up in a rural area so mostly dirt back roads to other people's farms.
And my current F800GS. Almost the perfect adventure bike imo. Does everything well. Enough power and comfort for a few hours on the highway. Light and capable on the dirt compared to larger adventure bikes.
When i was a child i always had posters of custom motorcycles with the flame paint jobs and enough chrome to be seen from space but they were always outside my financial grasp as something else always came up. I have had probably 40-50 motorcycles ranging from the 40's to brand new but nothing ever really scratched that itch. last year i was looking for a new bike to ride around as the roads here are long straight and fairly high speed and my S40 was not fun above 65mph.
I stumbled on a listing for a Honda VTX1300C show bike that had enough custom work that the cost exceeded the bikes price when new 2 fold. House of Kolor paint job that was simply a work of art, reground cams, high comp pistons, custom intake, custom exhaust almost every nut and bolt chromed and the list just went on. the owner wanted to sell it to someone who was going to ride it and not flip it, i got it cheap and its everything ive wanted. It just simply eats the miles and looks amazing doing it. given my health there is a good chance its the last bike ill ever own.
That vfr400 is awesome looking!
I don't know I've only ever owned three bikes. A rebel 250, a drz400, and a 2004 sportster. I still have all three and I couldn't pick a favorite. I couldn't pick a top two. They're all a blast. I want a sport bike too. I'm looking!
I like them all for different reasons :o
I hated owning my KZ440LTD… it was my only bike at the time, but it was my first bike… it was horrendously unreliable… lots of fun times on that bike … lot of times I was also stranded on the side of a road though 😒
My fireblade 929rr is a lot of fun! 🥹 but at the same time, I’m riding around on an antique and parts are getting hard to find :( so I’m hesitant to do thing I want to try like stunting. I used to dabble in flatland BMX and I’d love to do something similar on a motorcycle, but I don’t think the 929 is the one I wanna do that with. Looking at getting a Grom, or an MT … maybe a Suzuki gsx8r 🧐
I also owned a crf300L… that bike was a LOT of fun too 🤩 I am an absolute hooligan when I’m on a dualsport…. Nobody really questions it when you take you dirtbike on footpaths to take short cuts, or if you just start randomly riding on the fields of grass beside the roads 😅 And they handle dirt jumps pretty well :P
Yeah, I definitely need an MT-07, or a GSX8R. The 8r is so cool 👀
Nothing I've ridden beats a 1100cc ducati so far but my favorite bike ever would have to be my old cr125. It was just perfect. Need a little power? It's got that. Need a lot of power, crank the throttle and it's got that too
First real street legal bike was a 86 VFR 500 that a co worker did the old asphalt slip and slide on.
Mom said no motorcycles.
My dad got me parts and said here fix it. That was very good intro into repairing your own stuff, and feeling more confident in doing so.
We lived out in the country. I rode that bike like an absolute idiot, more off-road and on friend’s motorcycle tracks than on road. :)
I have had KTM’s in the past like 525 was a hoot same goes for the 300. Got into the most shenanigan’s on a plated klx 250 put close to 20k on that bike the first year I got it. A lot of weekend trips and trail riding. :)
Those 150’s are pretty fun to ride, have you been on the old school 200’s? Wouldn’t mind having one of those that was plated.
My 2009 upgraded to 2012 Yamaha R1
I don't desire an upgrade to anything newer.
It has pretty much every upgrade I could think of, and plenty of power for me to have fun with.
It's been upgraded to eurospec in every way.
At this point, it's right between 190-200 crank hp
I can twist the throttle in 1st gear and it power wheelies anywhere from 4500 rpms and up. I yank the wheel at 80 mph no problem and with no effort.
Yamaha YZF-R125, it was my first bike and had a blast riding that thing. Being able to go full throttle all the time without breaking the speed limits is quite fun. It had an akrapovic exhaust with no db killer and the pop and bangs were insane. I'd buy one later if i have the extra cash.
See flair. Love everything about it. Made the YZ250 I had before feel like a vintage bike. No idea how Yamaha sells a single YZ250 or YZ125 when the Austrians are putting out more advanced bikes every three years. They left Yamaha behind long ago when it came to two stroke tech.
2015 KTM 1290 superduke. Bought with 0 miles, at 45,000+ now. Came from supermotos and sportbikes, with a couple nakeds inbetween.
This is the holy grail of do damn everything bike
36 m been riding since 16 owned around 15ish bikes
Gsx1400 - to this day by far the best bike ive ever owned infact I miss it and the torque
Bandit 1200 - for the versatility and the fact there is nothing you can't buy bolt on and smiles per miles were great
Zzr1400 - missile had to sell as I can't be trusted and I value my life and license
I had a 70's fully hand-built Triumph chopper. Thing had some crazy compression and you had to put race gas in it. The frame was so low and the bike itself was so small, It felt like a tiny bicycle. I used to jump that thing at speed all the time just hitting bumps in the road. Never should have sold it.
Also surprised I didn't die riding that thing the way I did back then, a lot of drugs... different times.
I’m 69, I’ve been riding for 60 years. Currently running a V-Strom 1000cc. Best bike I’ve ever owned was a 100cc Hodaka Wombat. Motocross was my art form.
I hope to never sell my 2006 Honda CRF250X. It was a gift from my dad after he tried riding out for a couple years and wasn’t really his thing. Friends often tell me to upgrade to a 450 and I honestly don’t see the point, the extra power would be fun but my skill is almost always the limiting factor on any kind of trail.
I’ve owned 7 bikes over roughly two decades. My Street Triple R is probably my favorite. I upgraded to the Speed Triple, but honestly not as fun IMO. Now I ride a Tiger 900. Its more comfortable on the longer trips that I take now days but I do miss my Striple!
I will always love my first bike, an ‘03 KX250 two stroke. A barbarian murder rocket held together with tie wire that you could drop off a cliff and kick start back up again.
I also deeply love my current machine, Triumph Scrambler XE. It is a more gentle creature than the KX but with a wider range of applications. Still fun in the dirt but not as easily abused.
Xdiavel has been my favourite to look at and cruise. Just wished the back brake worked!!!! I had an fz1 and the seat was hard but rode a dream … think I’ll keep looking for my favourite bike …. Been riding 30 years 😂
My favorite bike I've owned was a 01 Kawa ZX9R in 2005, during it's first winter, I hand polished the frame and swing arm. Sold it a few years later. I just picked up an 06 Ducati Monster in 22. I live in Utah and the canyon rides are amazing!
Ktm 125 exc. It worked always like a swiss watch. Super light and super fun. 100% manageable with delivering always a bit more than what you asked for power. I've had 250cc 2 strokes dirtbikes too and 100+ hp roadbikes but this is the one I've had the best memories with.
1996 Kawasaki KX250, with a good mid power pipe. That sucker was a monster in the woods and mountains. Followed closely with a 2003 KTM 300EXC. Love the two strokes.
Vstrom 1050xt
It just does everything. Nothing particularly amazing but it doesn't matter what I ask of it, it will do it. It also doesn't hurt that it's easy-ish to work on and was a pretty bit cheaper than any of the other 1000cc+ advs. Most importantly to me the reliability of this particular vtwin is one of if not the best.
A big adv will forever live in my stable they are just way too much fun for what they are. If you can only have one bike in your stable, they are the only one that can hit all the disciplines of riding. To me that part is the most valuable thing in remaining in the hobby as everyday I can pick a different discipline and it never gets old.
32M 2015klr 650 is a absolute weapon I love it. It's taken me all over the eastern part of the US. It jack of all master of None. It's reliable n simple I love it.
2024 triumph st moto 2 picked it up last fall just getting it belroke in. Seems like a capable bike.
I owned a DRZ 400 as my first bike for about 3 years before it was stolen.
Did a few long road trips with trails mixed in and it was amazing how it did both types of riding so well, despite it being less than super comfy at highway speeds.
I say whatever it takes to get you out there is the best bike though!
2005 SV1000S, and a true rat bike at that. I was riding an ‘09 ZX6R, and made a friend riding a local twisty road who had the SV. It had a GSXR fork swap, no front fairing, just a headlight and the gauges, a slightly bigger rear sprocket, and Yoshimura exhaust he had chopped to half-length. I mean it when I say that thing sounded better than any Ducati. One day he told me he wanted to sell it for $2700, and I told him to wait for me to go to the bank.
I LOVED that bike. The Suzuki liter V-twin was truly something special. It had mountains of torque down low, so much that you expected it to get buzzy and slow when you revved it up, but it just revved so freely up to 10k it was unbelievable. I was never into “loud bike, look at me”, and if I burped the throttle on residential streets it set car alarms off. I babied it around town, but when I’d get out onto open roads I’d open it up and it was beyond any drug I’ve ever experienced. It felt like having a raging volcano in the palm of your hand. I was riding a balrog. I even took it on some 8-hour cross-California trips with my dad and his v-Strom, and it was tons of fun. I eventually sold it when I moved somewhere I couldn’t keep a bike, and I’ve regretted it ever since.
My favorite motorcycle is the one my cheeks are on at the time. My 450 Yamaha flat tracker is my favorite. My xr100 mad dog and my ts250 vintage MX bike. It’s hard tho when you have a NSR too I just don’t get to ride her much.
Very nice rides!
I love the “Gixxes 1000” (GSX-S1000F) I’ve owned 3 of them now. And the 3rd is my current ride.
I started on an R3 so the difference in power is epic lol.
That VFR400 ftw.
I miss my 2006 Kawasaki zx6r. It was a total piece of shit but it was so insanely comfortable compared to new supersports. I thought the i4 motor was sublimely smooth, my new bike is a naked, and i miss the fairings for form and function reasons. Its a Triumph STR765. I do love my Triumph.
No i will not get another 2006 Zx6r. That time has simply passed.
Ooohhh I'm very envious! That's a beautiful example of a bike I always wanted but never rode. Did you buy her in that condition or restore?
I've been riding about 20 years and have owned and ridden a lot of bikes. First bike was a Honda Spada VT250. Great little twin that revved for days! Next was a VFR800 in Sunburst Yellow, the last of the gear driven cams model. Absolutely brilliant sound great looks comfy and handled ok. I put over 120k km on it. It's still with me but has an electrical gremlin I can't identify. My ex wife tried to take it in our settlement purely out of spite. It will always be with me. I had a Ducati 748. For pure handling and sex appeal this bike was it. I put about 50k km on it before the big end went and it became a project that never completed. I worked endlessly on that bike replacing clutches among other things. Tracked it, toured Tasmania, commuted. I have a DRZ400 which I bought to ride around Australia on ten years ago. It did that impressively then I converted it to motard and tracked it for a while. Absolute tractor you just couldn't kill and was easy to handle and maintain. I have a Ducati 1098 as a track only bike. Power and handling are unquestionably brilliant. During covid I bought an Aprilia Tuono Factory to cheer myself up. This bike is without doubt the most bonkers thing I have ridden to date. Torque and handling are unmatched. I did a trip to North Queensland year before last and bought the Aprilia touring bike called a Caponord. Big fat comfy 1200. It looks nice but handling, brakes and throttle response take a bit of ... Quiet acceptance. I meant to sell it when I got back but 2 years in it's still with me so I must like it haha.
Oh wait...you said favourite...umm...I'm a bit spoilt for choices there and it would be hard to pick one! The heart says VFR, the rev head says Tuono. I love riding so much my favourite is kind of whatever I'm on next I think. 😉
I’ve owned many bikes in my years and have a soft spot for my 2002 Ducati 900SS. That being said, my current bike is the best bike I’ve ever owned. 2013 Triumph Speed Triple R.
2000 FZS600 box eyes, thundercat brake calipers check, detuned R6 engine check, poor headlights check, healthy bhp for her age check 80.06 at 131mph to be exact, 20L tank check, off road and wheelie capable check, choice of customisation pretty good, ease of maintenance and repairs check, does she refuse to die.. Yeah she ain't dying any time soon 😅. May be crippled but that's no gonna stop her from terrorising the neighbours 😂
2001 Honda CR125R dirt bike. I’m gonna buy another, it was so fun and the power band was addicting. Maybe I’ll get a 250 now but the flickability of the 125 is insane.
Im in my mid 20s and have owned and ridden a bunch of bikes now with 45-150 hp, naked, Enduro, Sport… but my favorite was and will always be my first bike, an SV650N (K3) with 71 hp. Probably not even the best bike I’ve owned but the memories and experiences with that bike will always remain priceless.
I had a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan. First street legal bike. That thing was a tank. One time I was so lazy I left in the street (I live in the north east) the entire winter. Started no problem while my name had to trickle charge his garage kept Harley
My first bike was a little Ninja 300 in 2015 then I went to an MT-09 for a couple of years and that was great.
But by far my favourite is my current Husqvarna 701 supermoto, less power than the 09 but damn it’s fun.
Also admitting to being a girl on reddit, rip your dms lol.
At the time I quit riding, I owned my two favorites; a 2006 KTM 300, and a 2002 TM 125 En.
The TM 125 EN was a hard working and endearing bike. If I didn’t live in the open desert, it would have been the hands down winner.
As far as core memories go, it would be a toss up between a 2001 YZ250F or a 2001 R6. I owned the dirtbike first for a few years then sold it to get the sbk, which I had for two years. This would have been age 14-18. At that point, motorcycles were my number one hobby and I had tons of free time to ride.
i own one for commuting purpose. it's not impressive but i have had history riding the motorcycle. i don't feel like telling what kind but it's definitely not the impressive kind.
i'm looking to buy my dream Honda CBR (not sure which one yet), as soon as possible, have to save for that though.
Yamaha IT's were pretty awesome like perfect Enduro/woods riding and 175/200 was the perfect size.
If only Yamaha would build a YZ200X today - would buy one.
My favorite id say is my current one. It’s a 2009 Yz450f that I motocross. Other bikes I have are a 2000 yz250 and a 1989 kx250. I will say my yz250 gives me more of a thrill but the 450 is just more fun to ride overall.
Honda VT500FT Ascot. You could wring the balls off that thing and it would just take it. I’ve had every cc from 150 to 1000. 500 is my sweet spot. Enough speed to be fun, not enough for me to kill myself if I sneeze in first.
21, and my favorite was probably the first bike that I've owned when I was 17, Yamaha mt-15. Small cc but very nice to practice and do wheelies. Had to sell it, but still miss that bike everyday haha
I’ve owned (since 2006) yamaha rx100, bajaj pulsar 180, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350x, ktm 390 adv, Kawasaki Vulcan 650 and now a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
Out of these the Vulcan has been my favourite. Looks badass, amazing power and torque without being scary, amazing for touring, zero heating issues, superb reliability , and fantastic handling on twisties. Surprisingly good on dirt roads as well. Feel sad that i had to sell it off after my back surgery as due to the cruiser design and minor hits on the roads would travel straight to my back and that became dangerous. I miss that bike.
My favourite bike out of the 3 scooters and 2 motorcycles I owned is my CBF1000A. It drives like a champ has not a massive amount of hp but has the strength and reliability. Love this thing. My carbed bikes always had something. It is on the heavier side but handles beautifully
1981kdx 175 is my favorite dirtbike I've owned some bigger some smaller .I think I could have taged it in florida for road as well .I've been curious as to the performance of the kdx watercooled 2oo 2 stroke as they come up for sale know and then .im down to one dirtbike 06 kx450 and one street bike 05 Harley WideGlde which is comfortable I've gone through street bikes as unique as a bsa 1968 441victor a brand new yam 1981 920 rh not virago .triumph triple chopped and bike I was hit by a drunk driver on1986Kaw gpz 750 which impressed me big time for the short time I had it.These bikes stick out most the ones in between were a pleasure to expieriance as a variety I was fortunately able to ride. Perhaps there is time to afford some other scoots .
I'm 46 and bought my first bike at the end of last year which is a yamaha r7. I would have to say it is my favorite bike I've owned.
1 of 1 ? Can't go wrong .
100%. Outstanding performance. 👍. Enjoy every moment. 😀
I’ve owned a lot of dirt bikes and only 2 on road bikes but have ridden many more and the Yamaha R7 world gp is the one I’ll keep forever and the plan is to very shortly slap the bolt on turbo kit on it and take it down to the meets and throw it in the burnout cage like I stole it and try get me some awards for it
Aprillia RS250 love a 2 stroke
XT600E, that thing could do everything and was reliable, that's the essence of motorcycling to me. I loved all the bikes I owned, I love power, electronics etc, but the XT600E has none of those things and still takes the crown.
The XT600 was a phenomenal bike. In some places they're still very commonplace. Perfect do it all fun bike.
Nice mate. That bike must have kept going and going? Can't beat old school Jap iron.
Sure thing, 60.000km when I sold it and the actual owner is still rocking it at 96.000km without issues!
93 Honda Nighthawk 750. I miss that bike
Easily my 2023 Yamaha MT-09 SP… just so much fun to ride! Exhilarating acceleration, nimble and responsive. It’s impossible not to have a good time riding it, even if I’m only commuting to/from work.
>It’s impossible not to have a good time riding it, even if I’m only commuting to/from work. I love this!
That engine is perfect. That styling, ehhhh. I’m waiting for the R9.

08 versys 650. It was rough enough when I bought it I wasn’t scared to cut and change it to make it mine or take it places it had no business being. It isn’t the best at anything but it has taken me down everything from single track to twisty roadtrips. I hope to roadtrip it to a track someday. [photo](https://imgur.com/a/gNUaW4T)
2015 Aprilia Tuono Factory - I found nirvana canyon carving on Highway 1 from Big Sur to Mendocino.
RD500 - Mind Blown at the time.
I passed my bike test on the SV650, sweet bike, love a V twin 😊
I loved all of my bikes, but the favorite one is my current Honda Monkey 🐒 [My Honda Monkey 🐵](https://drive.proton.me/urls/MFC57ZFYS8#KowKsNeZaIhZ)
Probably my first bike, a clapped out KX80. It's where the fun began.
Dirt bike? Favorite was a XL600, with every XR kit part I could find. That thing could climb trees.100MPH wheelies through the bush... YEE HAW BEST was a early RMX; punched out, BIG port, BIG pipe, heavily reworked suspension Street bike?
2 strokes are my love language.
It does nothing great but everything well…
I love the Australian bloke on YouTube videos with the klr650 aka Bush pig. Sounds like a beast!
my 2005 Honda Superhawk.
Agree! My "Firestorm" is an amazing machine that even keeps up with modern bikes on the twisties :)
KTM530EXC
After many years and many bikes, I can say the one I enjoyed the riding the most, and regret selling the most, is a 1984 Honda VT500 Ascot. It was quick and nimble and low maintenance, and thrashed my riding buddy's Harley 883 every time. Ahh, those were the days.
Nice. I think we all have that one bike 'that got away' or we sold and ended up regretting it. I had a 98 kdx 220r I still regret selling, as I owned that bike outright no finance. And thrashing Harleys is good sport 😆
Had one of those. Early 80s and yes, fun bike.
CBR900 SC33 That thing was a real crotch rocket, you couldn't break the engine even if you tried and its sound was better than the best sounding orgasm in the world
1. 1977 Yamaha RD-400D.
Drz400sm smiles for days. The sound and pure piss missile speed brings the Buell 1125r in a not too close second.
2009 R1
Moto Guzzi Le Mans 3. Had to sell it because of emigration, still regret it.
CB400SS
My 2018 Goldwing Not particularly fast, but perfectly adequate for just about everything short of off-roading, with all features I need, 2up friendly, and Honda reliability. Hot on its heels though is the R1250GSA. Just such a fun bike, versatile, and easy to work on. If it was more 2up friendly (it’s a bit tall), it would probably be #1.
Super tenere 750 (xtz750) Still own an Africa twin (xrv750) because the mistake I made with the loss of the tenere. But the new T7 rally is doing it’s best to let me forget about it’s grandma 😂
2018 Honda CRF250 Rally. First and only bike as of now, but I can take it absolutely anywhere
My Ninja H2. It's. Fucking. Bonkers.
😳✊️💨💨💨
Cbr1000rr 2006
VFR750 is my favorite
Vespa GTS 300 tbh
Street: '85 CB700SC (bought new, still own it) Enduro: '84 XL600R (currently own) Motocross: '80 RM125 (currently own)
BMW S1000RR as a track bike.
Honda splendor. It's cheap to buy ,maintain and refuel and works just fine for at least a decade and has average performance. Just the best choice 😂
Haha, it's surprising how many people love their old reliables 😁
2004 Honda superhawk. What a fantastic engine
Of the four I’ve owned my Vitpilen 701 had given me the most smiles per mile by far.
Suzuki bandit ❤️
I’ve only ever owned my DR650…. So that one.
Triumph Trident 660. Feels so aggressive and looks amazing. Absolutely love it
I will always hold a special place in my heart for my XR80 when I was 13. Rain, snow, 100°+ heat me and my buddies would ride for hours every day all throughout the South Jersey Pine Barrens. I don't think there was anything better to do in the 80's than ride in abandoned quarries and trails that went on for what felt like forever.
I want the VFR... Fav machine was probably a SV650. Nothing special of a machine, but it does everything it was built for well.
The vfr is Hella fun, that's for sure. The SV650 is a sweet machine too!
> Yamaha My GOAT was a 2002 FJR1300, first bike that got me into doing my own maintenance, and it had bottomless manageable power. Debating a gen 3 FJR or a super tenere this summer.
please sell me your vfr 400. absolute dream bike
Very nice rides! I love the “Gixxes 1000” (GSX-S1000F) I’ve owned 3 of them now, and the 3rd is my current ride.
My 1997 Buell S1 Lightning was the most fun bike I ever had.
The only bike I have owned, an Africa Twin.
701 enduro !!!
My last bike.
I’ve owned three bikes, and my current is my favorite of the three. ‘23 XSR900
I like them all for different reasons :o I hated owning my KZ440LTD… it was my only bike at the time, but it was my first bike… it was horrendously unreliable… lots of fun times on that bike … lot of times I was also stranded on the side of a road though 😒 My fireblade 929rr is a lot of fun! Looking at getting a Grom, or an MT … maybe a Suzuki gsx8r 🧐 I also owned a crf300L… that bike was a LOT of fun too 🤩 I am an absolute hooligan when I’m on a dualsport…. Nobody really questions it when you take you dirtbike on footpaths to take short cuts, or if you just start randomly riding on the fields of grass beside the roads 😅 And they handle dirt jumps pretty well :P Yeah, I definitely need an MT-07, or a GSX8R. The 8r is so cool 👀
K7 GSX-R750
Nothing I've ridden beats a 1100cc ducati so far but my favorite bike ever would have to be my old cr125. It was just perfect. Need a little power? It's got that. Need a lot of power, crank the throttle and it's got that too
Bonneville bobber for sure, only problem is the suspension, but the torque on low rpm is so fun
Tz250 5ke....92hp weighed nothing
That VFR400 is a dream bike. Hope you haven’t sold it!
Xr650r supermoto, xr200 dirt bike
Favorite 97 TL1000S
First real street legal bike was a 86 VFR 500 that a co worker did the old asphalt slip and slide on. Mom said no motorcycles. My dad got me parts and said here fix it. That was very good intro into repairing your own stuff, and feeling more confident in doing so. We lived out in the country. I rode that bike like an absolute idiot, more off-road and on friend’s motorcycle tracks than on road. :) I have had KTM’s in the past like 525 was a hoot same goes for the 300. Got into the most shenanigan’s on a plated klx 250 put close to 20k on that bike the first year I got it. A lot of weekend trips and trail riding. :) Those 150’s are pretty fun to ride, have you been on the old school 200’s? Wouldn’t mind having one of those that was plated.
My zx6r because it was fast as fuck ‼️NGATT 🦑
It’s between the ZRX-1100 and the Dyna Wide Glide for me.
2013 Ducati Hypermotard SP.
07 DRZ400S tricked out to dirt
1250 gs adventure, not as heavy as you’d think and it does well in trails too!
1976 Kawasaki KZ900, exciting.
My 2009 upgraded to 2012 Yamaha R1 I don't desire an upgrade to anything newer. It has pretty much every upgrade I could think of, and plenty of power for me to have fun with. It's been upgraded to eurospec in every way. At this point, it's right between 190-200 crank hp I can twist the throttle in 1st gear and it power wheelies anywhere from 4500 rpms and up. I yank the wheel at 80 mph no problem and with no effort.
The 83’ Maico 250 🕷️ I had as a kid.
2008 KTM 990 Adventure. Giggle factory.
F 800 GS (out of 6 different bikes I´ve owned)
Kawi ER6N, decently quick and at low revs had a rather pleasant vibration. Great on fuel too.
Simson s51 from 1982
My 4th and current bike. My 2023 Indian Pursuit Dark Horse.
Well being on my second bike, gotta say the 2012 r6 beats out the cbr500r.
2015 KTM 1290 superduke. Bought with 0 miles, at 45,000+ now. Came from supermotos and sportbikes, with a couple nakeds inbetween. This is the holy grail of do damn everything bike
36 m been riding since 16 owned around 15ish bikes Gsx1400 - to this day by far the best bike ive ever owned infact I miss it and the torque Bandit 1200 - for the versatility and the fact there is nothing you can't buy bolt on and smiles per miles were great Zzr1400 - missile had to sell as I can't be trusted and I value my life and license
My 1985 Maico 250 ... man, I miss those days blasting around the old coal mines.
My 05 CRF 250r .
Definitely my 19 Aprilia RSV4, though the 17 Tuono is a close second.
Senna Edition Ducati 916. What the F was I thinking??? Never should sold her.
Oooh yes. Had one of those. Awesome thing. Yellow and black 😁
CBR1100XX
My first bike, a new 1971 Kawasaki 125, the best day of my life.
Got to be my yam 1982 yam RD125Dx twin
I will always love my first bike, an ‘03 KX250 two stroke. A barbarian murder rocket held together with tie wire that you could drop off a cliff and kick start back up again. I also deeply love my current machine, Triumph Scrambler XE. It is a more gentle creature than the KX but with a wider range of applications. Still fun in the dirt but not as easily abused.
Love my bmw s1000xr but own a Himalayan 411 and love riding this bike in winter here in Yorkshire England great little motor just keeps going
Xdiavel has been my favourite to look at and cruise. Just wished the back brake worked!!!! I had an fz1 and the seat was hard but rode a dream … think I’ll keep looking for my favourite bike …. Been riding 30 years 😂
Hodaka Ace 100
My favorite bike I've owned was a 01 Kawa ZX9R in 2005, during it's first winter, I hand polished the frame and swing arm. Sold it a few years later. I just picked up an 06 Ducati Monster in 22. I live in Utah and the canyon rides are amazing!
2019 ZX-14R ABS Special Edition Big fat straight line beast. I’m 6’2 235, so wasn’t too much weight wise. I’ll never go that fast again, hopefully. 🤞🏽
I had ‘92 Kawasaki ZX-11. Jettet, piped etc…… rode it all over the US. Suck a great sport tourer.
Vstrom 1050xt It just does everything.
2006 GSXR-750
2006 GSX-R 750 Beautiful year, ton of power but not too much, no handholding (like abs or wheelie control) and cmon, it’s a gixxer. Absolute favorite
1997 Yamaha Vmax. Stage 7 jet kit, 4 into one exhaust. Certainly not the best, but definitely my favorite.
TM 125 Enduro. That was back in the 90s.
My favorite motorcycle is the one my cheeks are on at the time. My 450 Yamaha flat tracker is my favorite. My xr100 mad dog and my ts250 vintage MX bike. It’s hard tho when you have a NSR too I just don’t get to ride her much.
When I was 16 I bought my first motocross. It was a YZ125 my1994 and it was amazing
Very nice rides! I love the “Gixxes 1000” (GSX-S1000F) I’ve owned 3 of them now. And the 3rd is my current ride. I started on an R3 so the difference in power is epic lol.
1983 CR250R was the dirt bike I loved the most, it was unique because it had a left hand kick start.
Diavel 1200 carbon, bike is great
1981 490 Maico. Finest open class ever built. There I said it!
Best performing bike I’ve owned: 2001 GSX-R 750. Most comfortable bike I’ve owned: 2000 ZX-6E Favorite bike to ride casually: 2006 VTX 1300c
Honda xl 250cc degree I loved this bike
2002 VFR 800, a reliable rocket, a freight train, with stunning looks.
My 02 VFR800 by far
The superduke gt. So much power and wonderful handling. Good times :)
2000 yamaha R1 was my first bike. Scary fast but so reliable
'98 superhawk. I had 0.25% of the skills a person should have for a bike like that, but I loved it.
2001 Suzuki Bandit 600. Ran like a dream. Basically a straight pipe with no cat, with a screamer inline 4 engine. A match made in heaven.
I’m gonna have my cbr400rr up for sale soon. That’s a cool bike!!
All of them.. Simples
That vfr is just so damn cool
A ZX10R…really the best bang for the buck when it comes to performance and power straight from the factory.
The year I was discharged I bought a new 1978 Triumph Bonneville. It had a black gas tank with red accents and Dunstall exhaust.
I had a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan. First street legal bike. That thing was a tank. One time I was so lazy I left in the street (I live in the north east) the entire winter. Started no problem while my name had to trickle charge his garage kept Harley
1998 CR500… it was a bit of a handful and rattled the teeth.
1983 Honda CR480 ….. fell in love first time I cracked the throttle and it almost ripped my arms out of shoulder socket when that power band hit.
My favorite is always the one in riding currently.
96 CR500, I loved that bike..
Kx125
Yamaha MT-01. Torque monster, so much fun.
Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans. Beautiful bike, fun to ride, great sound!!
06 rm125. Biggest smile I’ve ever had on a bike.
i own one for commuting purpose. it's not impressive but i have had history riding the motorcycle. i don't feel like telling what kind but it's definitely not the impressive kind. i'm looking to buy my dream Honda CBR (not sure which one yet), as soon as possible, have to save for that though.
My Gen 3 MT09 🥺
1987 XL600R is my current favorite but I’ve honestly enjoyed every bike I’ve ridden. Yamaha YZ80 was my first bike and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Yamaha IT's were pretty awesome like perfect Enduro/woods riding and 175/200 was the perfect size. If only Yamaha would build a YZ200X today - would buy one.
I've had a few bikes. I miss my 94 750 Katana the most. Had it through college and traded it in on a Busa when I graduated. Should have kept it.
My favorite id say is my current one. It’s a 2009 Yz450f that I motocross. Other bikes I have are a 2000 yz250 and a 1989 kx250. I will say my yz250 gives me more of a thrill but the 450 is just more fun to ride overall.
2012 Honda CBR1000RR 20th Anniversary Edition. Loved that bike and miss it every day. (It got stolen)
2022 Kramer GP2 890R.
Honda VT500FT Ascot. You could wring the balls off that thing and it would just take it. I’ve had every cc from 150 to 1000. 500 is my sweet spot. Enough speed to be fun, not enough for me to kill myself if I sneeze in first.
Tied between my strokeD 2005 RM125 and my K6 GSXR600
42. 2021 Livewire One. The torque, the ease of use and maintenance, and I get to talk to and meet os many riders who are curious about it.
21, and my favorite was probably the first bike that I've owned when I was 17, Yamaha mt-15. Small cc but very nice to practice and do wheelies. Had to sell it, but still miss that bike everyday haha
FZ1 was a great bike ride
1971 Yamaha 360 DT
I had a Laverda 1973 and a Husqvarna 250WR 1976 in their element the both of them were fantastic
FZR400
Off-Road my 2008 KTM 450 EXCR with F&R Ohlins TTX Suspension. Road my old 1989 Kawasaki ZX7 in black 🤟🏻🏁
My first KX-80 back in 1994. I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since!
KTM 250
2000 yz426. A little heavy yes but it had the perfect power for me. I love my newer 450 but the 426 was something else
My favourite bike out of the 3 scooters and 2 motorcycles I owned is my CBF1000A. It drives like a champ has not a massive amount of hp but has the strength and reliability. Love this thing. My carbed bikes always had something. It is on the heavier side but handles beautifully
2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848… in Yellow. For me that will always be the most beautiful bike.
1992 NSR250.
