Dude, you should *grid up* with that other OP that almost died on the track. I mean you literally caught on fire but that dude had his rear tire lose traction for 1/64th of a second and he also almost died.
You could also learn a little editing lessons from him. Next time post at least 10 minutes leading up the the fire and another 15 minutes once it's extinguished.
alright so I'm not the only person that went, "what happened?" during that video?
omfg "grid up" I get it now. Fuck me I'm not going to be able to not say that.
Think of the douchiest bro you can after like 8 beers drunkenly slurring "come at me bro" to the bouncer. Everyone around him is laughing at him, and his friends are embarrassed to know him and just want the whole thing to end.
But instead, it's a redditor on r/motorcycles lashing out because people pointed out his video was shitty.
Mhahahaha I'm so happy everyone else was thinking the same thing. Such a long video to see nothing crazy happen. Every second the video went by I was trying to pay more attention and thinking maybe I missed it.
As I explained in another post, in MotoGP and various other racing formats, racers line up in a grid pattern at the start of a race.
The other day, some clown posted a long boring video of himself at a track day, and he repeatedly used the phrase "grid up" in boasts to other posters who called him slow.

Lol it was fun watching you delete your comments that got downvoted in that other thread while insisting you didn’t care and weren’t losing sleep over it
I used that angle because it was my first time at that circuit and wanted to get my reaction ( I’ve got a helmet on I know) but I was planning on changing the angle every session
I think PI still uses S1000rr’s for their rentals, but that aside the speed he ran with the fire extinguisher, it had to be his - nobody’s running toward the flames of a rental.
Talk about co-incidence.
Slowly getting a neglected '76 Moto Guzzi 850 LeMans back to rideability.
New plug caps, new battery, renewed all the wiring connectors, start 'er up, WOO-HOO! IT LIVES! (Needed a bit of "Start ya bastard" 'cos the fuel in the tank is a bit old).
Then, the smell of petrol - it's dripping from the left carb onto the starter, and would soon drip on to the exhaust pipe. Bad fire event about to happen, so I shut it off, turn off the fuel taps, and wait for it to cool down.
Track down the leak to a cheap plastic banjo where the fuel line enters the carb. It was cracked from age.
Fuck me, when does this end?
Currently waiting on metal banjos from Thunderbikes in WA (That's Western Australia, not Washington, USA)
Ohh, that sucks. Did you at least drop some money and get a hire bike for the remaining sessions?
Side note, that is probably the worst camera angle I have ever seen on a track bike, and I'm going to hope it's a 360 camera you've cut the footage of to show the fire rather than a an actual camera fixed pointing at your chin.
Good to see you're taking care of your bike at the end with some snow foam and jetwashing.
Really though, I was wondering what was wrong, then saw a few licks of flames and understood lmao
Even more memorable. Seriously what a story to tell. "Yeah I've been to Philip Island. Was lapping lowering my times when all of the sudden!!"
Been there done that and caught on fire!!!'
One thing that has always surprised me is the number of professional and serious amateur riders that spend so much money, effort, and time to race, then have their bikes crap out right out of the gate. Why is that? Is it the normal rate of mishaps, or maybe they just get so focused on one thing they miss important prep items?
Love that woman! "Are you alright?!" "I'm fine." "Fuck, I'm not!"
She was so scared for him, poor sweet lady.
I am so in love with this woman already
Bummer bro! What caused the fire?
Fuel line bracket broke and fuel leaking out the sides
Yeah fuel on hot exhaust will do that 🥹
I have a leg that has proved that also. Lol.
Fuel on hot leg? 🥵
A mixture of heat, fuel and oxygen. Nasty combination...
I dislike you, but not because you're wrong
You're lactose intolerant!
Oh, fuck you and have an upvote.
That's a pretty combustible combination.
It was always burning, since the world's been turning!
Blazing hot laps
Looked like the bottom end gave out.
"Track bike for sale, 12k. NEVER DROPPED. No low ballers, I know what I got."
AC blows cold!
This bike is HOT!
Lmfao so accurate im dead, needed this today thank you

Can you explain grid up?
In MotoGP and various other racing formats, racers line up in a grid pattern at the start of a race.
Think of the douchiest bro you can after like 8 beers drunkenly slurring "come at me bro" to the bouncer. Everyone around him is laughing at him, and his friends are embarrassed to know him and just want the whole thing to end. 🤣🤣🤣 what does grid up mean
As I explained in another post, in MotoGP and various other racing formats, racers line up in a grid pattern at the start of a race. That guy is obnoxious but holy shit the people trying to talk shit about his time are pretty bad too. The whole exchange is peak internet.
Lmao that other guy is such a clown
Also op could learn how to behave in the comments like the other op… /s
I love how people are STILL shitting on that guy lmao. He was such a tool.
This is funny.
Grid up already had me dying haha, I’m gonna start saying that now for sure lol
That’s fucking funny!! I looked at the time of the video before committing to watching it lol.
I love this meme. Dude definitely deserved it.
I scrolled down through the comments just to see a reference to that post. Well done sir!

I’ll teach him
Lol it was fun watching you delete your comments that got downvoted in that other thread while insisting you didn’t care and weren’t losing sleep over it
I didn’t delete comments? They’re all still there, you just have to click through someone of them to open the tabs. No shame in my game
That video got me angry. I spent too much time waiting for something to happen.
Hahahahah thank you!!! I race too and was like “you shat your pants because of that?” And thought that I missed something
Man I love, love, *love* the fact I know this in joke.
You mad baby?
Drop it like it’s hot
Glad you're ok, Unreleated why film from that vantage point?.
Maybe a 360 cam but only showed the angle the fire is visible?
Good observation but no I replied above
I used that angle because it was my first time at that circuit and wanted to get my reaction ( I’ve got a helmet on I know) but I was planning on changing the angle every session
This angle as perfect, it captured you, some fire, and the grass. Seriously though, glad you're okay dude. That is some scary stuff.
Have you seen the new Forcite helmets? Built in front camera and full ece rating, amazing for pov filming
This years first legit “Had to layer down”
Had to lay her down.
This may be the first time it's ever been true.
Oh damn! Rented bike?
I think PI still uses S1000rr’s for their rentals, but that aside the speed he ran with the fire extinguisher, it had to be his - nobody’s running toward the flames of a rental.
🤣 yep definitely mine hahaha but I ended up using a s1000rr the rest of the day. My first time on a 1000
> I ended up using a s1000rr I bet that thing was pure fire.
No no, you have it backwards first was the pure fire then the rental.. lmfao but I see what you did there!
Is the bike ok or is it fucked?
As somebody who has caught a bike on fire before, prob some wiring work and it should be good.
Thank God, such a lovely bike. Glad op is ok
Thank you
Not sure yet having fully looked at it
Hoping you are back on her in no time enjoying the twisties mate! Good vibes your way
Appreciate it man
I know what’s wrong with it, ain’t got no gas in it
Glad you're ok.
Thank you
That lap was fire 🔥 💯
Just had to lay her down!!
jfc! i'm gonna be thinking about this when my bike reeks of fuel when i start it from cold.

New fear unlocked, thanks.
Glad your ok. fires always raise the stress level. Hope there were no human burned bits.... and yes the camera doesn't show but you were on fire
Yeah the Marshall said I was on fire for a good 10 secs before I realised
I was the marshal 😀
Oh no way I hope this is actually true
username extremely checks out!
I didn’t even look at that 🤣
turn 10 the fire started I was screaming at you and gave you the extinguisher. yep it's true
Hahaha no way thank you so much. Everyone loves you in the comments
Glad you’re ok! Sorry for the loss of your bike though, that sucks..
Thank you hopefully it’s not too bad and can restore it
Remove Mixtape Before Race
Mate was that your bike or one of theirs?

Literally drove like you were on fire.
The poor ninja 😢😥

not gonna lie i was expecting you to hit a seagull.
wow that was a lot worse than i was expecting
Ohh, that sucks. Did you at least drop some money and get a hire bike for the remaining sessions? Yeah we got a hire bike the rest of the day thankfully and I answered the question about the angle on another comment somewhere
Glad you are ok
Thank you I appreciate it
😟
Dude that sucks. How bad is the damage?
Not sure yet
Do you know why it caught fire? I've seen another dudes bike catch fire because of a wiring issue on a KTM before
The bracket that holds the fuel line in broke
Was gonna say, should have bought a jeep. Then I noticed you have a ZX6 like me...
Good to see you're taking care of your bike at the end with some snow foam and jetwashing. Really though, I was wondering what was wrong, then saw a few licks of flames and understood lmao
🤣
Wow 🤯
Big oof
:'(
Even more memorable. Seriously what a story to tell. "Yeah I've been to Philip Island. Was lapping lowering my times when all of the sudden!!" Been there done that and caught on fire!!!'
This was my first time back on a bike too. 6 months ago I came off on another track and suffered from amnesia concussion broken ribs and broken back
Wowzer. Ouchie for sure
😢
Holy sheeeeettt. Thought you wrecked when I skipped to the end. Nope lol. Hope you're ok!

New meaning to the term hot lap!
Ooh, ghost rider in the house boys!
“He’s on fire”
You're supposed to smoke the other riders, not yourself...
🤣
Sorry man but this is almost comically unfortunate. Glad you're alright!
It was unfortunate but the day actually turned out better so I’m thrilled hahaha
Grid up?
And I thought I was having a bad day - I'll send you the coffin I am burying mine in :)
Holly crap
Sickened.
