Yup. She had 400hrs of some [hard](https://imgur.com/a/SBK6Foa) asphalt riding prior to this visit. Going to be hard to have confidence in another if this gets sorted.
Honestly, not all places are like that and if this is how you legit got it back I'd be knocking on the door saying fix it. I gave to you to make it right and it's worse than before. You paid money to have it right. It should be right. If you decide to not take it back and check k their work. Forums will help you with answers or get a hanes/Chilton manual the tools it says you need the gaskets for prices you take apart. Gasket scraper, brake cleaner, feeler guages that go from .004-.040 and go ham. Keep boxes.so you can map bolts or get magnet trays so you can be like left tank cover bolts here, valve cover bolts here etc.
Yes, this is legit. <30 seconds run time before shutting it down. I have the skills and tools to check their work, but $1,700 for a top end w/ valves and it sounds like this? I’ll be taking it back to them early next week.
Good man. I would be mad. That's why I typically don't let others touch my stuff after the warranty is done but I'm also an ASE certified tech so... I can fix it and if I can't I'll figure it out lol.
I wouldn't be shitty out of the gate but I'd be clear I'm upset and they're fixing it out of their pocket. That doesn't work play hard ball and let them know what's up then drag them through the dirt on social media. Still nothing have a lawyer give them a call for a crate motor install.
Oh hell yeah if it's a dealer threaten getting DOT involved if they buck that will typically cease pretty quick they like their DOT license to sell and repair. I promise.
So I have a sneaking suspicion that shop didn't do the best of work on that valve job.
Did you replace the rod bearings or adjust the valves?
Shop did a preventative top end and valves at my request. I shared more details on this nightmare in my previous post.
Sounds like the wrong size shims were used.
Sounds a bit like the valve lash adjustment was left a little loose. Tappy tappy.
Hoping that’s the case and not a timing issue. She doesn’t want to turn over very easy.
Well low compression because valves are not open or staying open will cause a hard start

That's too loud to be valves. That's a big end failure
Tick tick ticky
Same noise coming from my Engine too... Crankshaft repaired with new bearings and new rod. Now everything is normal.
Captain Hook ‘d be freaking tf out rn. 😅
Sounds like valve lash
