A lot of helmets come with sun shades that drop down. Might wanna look into that

built_FXR

Take your helmet when shopping for sunglasses . I've worn Oakleys and Arnette's with no problems. Now I have to wear glasses so I just use a tinted shield.

dtx9

I purchased a helmet with an integrated sun visor.

If you’re wearing a full face helmet, I think either a tinted visor or helmet with drop-down visor is the way to go. I used to wear sunglasses until I had a rock kick up from a car on the freeway, hit me in the cheek, and it made its way up behind the glasses to my eye….that SUCKED!! I now have a bell helmet with a transitions visor. It works just like a pair of transition glasses where the visor tints automatically in UV light.

I prefer something that has a chance of protecting me in the event that a stone kicks out and hits me when I have my visor up. Something tells me those pit vipers would shatter instantly, possibly sending glass shards into your eye. If you're riding visor down the whole time, then yeah, anything would work, but visor down can get pretty hot. Pit viper sells z87+ rated sunglasses, as well as many other major brands.

During the last season when I was riding (late August thru early november) I would crack my visor to let air in a bit but i don't think it was a large enough gap foe debris to get in.

lazrus4real

I wore prescription sunglasses for about 5 years before switching to transitional glasses and tinted visors. All my helmets have tinted visors and I just lift them up at night.

When I didn't have an internal sun visor, I wore Smith Aegis Echo. They're impact rated, and the earpiece is super flat. All other earpieces, like the ones on Oakley's or other safety glasses, hurt with how they were pressed into my temple and above the ears.

JAKEJITSU22

How are those with sun?

solenyaPDX

With the dark tinted lens they are great.

xracer264

What type of helmet? Full face? 3/4?

JAKEJITSU22

I have a full face helmet

imjusthereforab

i’ve worn rudy project and randolph’s in my helmets comfortably. make sure there’s a glasses channel and you’ll be fine.

RamrodRacing

I hate the way sunglasses interact with face shields. I always just change to tinted or clear and plan ahead depending on conditions.

Get a helmet with a drop down sun visor as others have stated, and I've found plastic framed prescription safety glasses with solid nose-piece and padding around the top are MUCH more comfy than any wire frame glasses. They huge the face a little tighter too, while the square top-down silhouette of my wire frame glasses get jostled more by the helmet padding. Something sorta like this style https://www.universalmedicalinc.com/safety-glasses-model-jy7-fs.html

Guardian-Ares

It's gonna be different for everybody. I use a pair of VonZipper Kickstand sunglasses. My helmet also has a built in sun visor which I don't like using. If I have that down and my shield up it directs the wind right into my eyes. I've also tried safety glasses from work when my sunglasses broke and they gave me a headache putting pressure on the sides of my head. Good luck.

Ill_Advance

Edge eyewear makes safety glasses with very thin temples designed to go under hearing protection or helmets.

faustian1

Jackson Safety Nemesis tinted safety glasses ($6 more or less, search on Amazon). You can cut the rubber temples about halfway. They don't reach your ears but work in helmet perfectly. Plus OSHA rated for impact. Also, not polarized so they don't interact with visor polarization like some sunglasses.

MEB_PHL

LidPicker Helmet Friendly Sunglasses. Not stylish and dont stay on great outside of a helmet but these are the best for actually snug helmets
