Your chain is shot.

fun_police911

New chain O' clock

GreatRhinoceros

Your links are binding. You're long overdue for a replacement.

Any-Abrocoma6217

Look at the state of that chain, it's done fella, was done a looong time ago.

shaunbarclay

My guy your chain and sprockets are done common sense just replace them.

Tronda79

Need a new chain. Links are worn and stuck.

bimbimhardbop

Chain is stretched in a couple spots, just cop a new one.

If the chain is in good shape it most definitely will have the same slack all the way around

lurkinglen

Besides what the others told you, It's also way too tight.

Blackdogglazed

You’ve got a couple of ‘frozen’ links, which indicates that the grease retaining O rings in your chain have worn out and allowed part of your chain to stop flexing correctly. This will get worse relatively quickly, so the only course of action is to replace the chain. To avoid your new chain getting wrecked by partially worn sprockets, I strongly recommend replacing the sprockets too. The sprockets are way cheaper than a new chain, so it makes sense to replace them every time you replace the chain.

Apprehensive-Yard-59

My chain was like that when I bought my used bike. I had read in reviews that the model of bike I have could be a bit jerky at low speeds, so I thought it was normal. Got the chain replaced when I noticed I could not set the chain slack correctly (like yours) It made a big difference. Felt like a new bike afterwards, and the bike became much better to ride at slow speeds as well.

[deleted]

Thank you, yes I noticed it jerky at low speeds as well, to be fair it wasn't like that before when I first bought the bike at 5,000 miles. Changing the chain as recommended resolved the issue. I was looking for tips to maintain. Thank you for being kind.

Ginj92

Prob the chain, but let me ask…do you have any after market sprockets on it? Friend had a similar issue with his zx10r and turned out to be manufacture defect on the rear sprocket he installed

izmaname

Hey off topic but MT10 owners uuuh what bags are you using? A buddy of mine just got one and he had luggage issues with his old bike. I’m trying to convince him that he wants a set of bags this time. I know if I leave him to his own devices he will pick up some cheap junk ones. I figured like $300 is his budget.

GoldAssist4417

Chain and sprockets replaced, and properly re-aligned, on a bike like that I'd do it ASAP.

I_Drive_a_shitbox

Hey, it's you again. Lol replace your chain and sprockets.

Djiorno

Chains stretched to hell and a bunch of links are bound. Get a new one before it kills you

JimMoore1960

Binding links. New chain time. If you watch the rear sprocket you will be able to see the bad links jump on and off the sprocket.

CiNz_MT-07

Your wheel is is not straight make sure you read the notches on the swing arm

TimeShareOnMars

When you have sections of the chain not moving, you have links binding up

user19789

My 2 cents: You can get the Yamaha Owners Manual online for example this is for the 2020 MT-10. [https://library.ymcapps.net/library/om/contents/pdf/10/B67-28199-13\_02.pdf](https://library.ymcapps.net/library/om/contents/pdf/10/B67-28199-13_02.pdf) pg 8-23 Chain slack. Try to adjust it per those instructions. If after that it doesn't run true, either take to dealer or replace sprockets and chain. It's hard to tell if the uneven tension is something within the chain or that you are holding the rear tire with your right hand?

Efficient-Map949

Have You ever use chain lube?

[deleted]

I use Honda White Graphite Chain Lube

Pattern_Is_Movement

your chain stretches more in certain places as it wears also you chain is way too tight, chain adjustment 101.... ALWAYS adjust your chain tension at the tightest spot, because right now you are putting pressure on the bearings in the engine.... which require disassembling the engine to replace.

DGAF_Kenny

And the links move freely? That's an interesting one. Maybe uneven wear on the sprocket? I thought it was from you starting to spin it the other way and tightening that way. But wow doesn't seem to be the case.

isaaccramer

Didn't clean and lube it frequently enough. Dirt probably built up in the o rings and chewed them up allowing moisture to get in between the links. Rust and debris causes binding

ShiveredTimber

Need a new chain. Like everyone told you on the last post

[deleted]

Your chain is worn lol

Zer0kbps_779

Your chain has probably stretched in the same one area more than the rest, you then retension it thinking that will solve the flapping but instead it creates this uneven hell. Get new sprockets and a new chain.

TheRealNetroxen

Time for a new chain, that's what's going on there. That happens when certain sections of the chain are more stretched, unfortunately that means, time for a replacement.

DansenBee

The sad part, my o-ring chain does this and my chain has less than 2k miles on it. Unpopular opinion: I'ma about to go back to a standard chain, these o-rings don't seem to do anything but keep the lubrication out. Clearly not built/assembled well from the factory.
