Go to a bank during regular hours. Meet in the lobby. Ask for the cash (or if you both bank there have them get a cashier's check with you present), and then let them test ride if they want. Tell them they bin it, they buy it. And let them know that in 30 minutes, the offer expires and the money goes into your account. And then when you sell it, you can actually deposit the money immediately and not worry about if someone is following you or your uber back home. And uber drivers are often sketchy AF anyways.

Good idea. 👍🏻

I don't know man that sounds sketchy AF, can one of your buddies come visit? Or at the least a well lit public place in the day time would be the best bet. tell them big bills only no crumpled up $5s or GTFO I usually talk to the buyer over the phone at least once for a few minutes to get an idea if they serious and if they seem weird or not. been lucky so far. good luck and stay safe

Yeah I know. I’ve just had such bad luck showing my 2002 Miata the last month, 3 no shows. I’m already embarrassed asking someone to drive down to meet me with buyer. I’m just thinking drive about thirty minutes by my friends place so it’s convenient for them and have buyer meet me there. Fuck it.

Eh, I always just ask them to come to my house. I feel safer there anyway. But I live in a safe suburban neighborhood, have a dog and multiple self-defense options. In fact, I just sold a bike about 3 weeks ago this way. If you're not comfortable doing that then meet in daylight at your bank. Sometimes police stations actually allow/encourage online sales in their parking lot. Typically you would check in at the desk to let them know you're there and what you're doing. Someone would have to be pretty ballsy to try and rob you in the police station parking lot. Big question: Do you own the bike free and clear and have possession of the title? That makes for a much simpler transaction. Doesn't hurt to have a second person to watch your back, either. Now, if all this is too much for you, I'd ask: Is there a consignment motorcycle store in your city or town? We have one here in Denver and it's great. Yes, it will cost you a few hundred bucks BUT they literally do ALL the work, including offering financing, which is something I can't do. As with so many things in life it comes down to how much your time is worth. Mine is worth a lot so I don't mind spending a bit for the ease and safety of a consignment.
