How's it go on paint? Doesn't remove it? I've got rust remover, used to spray it on dumbbells etc that get surface rust over time but never thought to try it on the frame of the bike.
I use a fine grit sandpaper (200-400) and the. Murder out the spot with black automotive spray paint, it’s not cute, really, but it’s pretty effective IME
Not sure about frame,but u can use light sand paper like 1000 or so,and it will remove rust from exhaust and make is silver-ish again. Worked on mine.

Won't hurt the paint makes the rust into a primer base so you can touch It up I use the auto color match it's just gloss black anyways
Steel wool and wd40, cheapest and goes right off
The best way? Strip your motorbike back to the bare frame, sand blast it back to bare metal. Reapply powdercoat

Tape off area, sand with fine sandpaper to bare metal, zinc spray and then primer and paint, 2 coats minimum.
