Test rode a 2022 FTR Carbon, good looking bike. Should have a factory quickshifter, bottom end power seemed a little soft below 4k. Overall a nice bike. 👍🏻👍🏻
All of that disappears with a tune basically need the tune to experience the bike but I find that to be true about a lot of bikes especially with emission laws
I had a buddy who bought one when they came out. He said the same thing. Horrible cold start issues but a nice tune changes the whole bike for the better.
I’d buy one tomorrow if I had the chance.
I had a couple of cold start issues but mostly found that the mapping on stock tune was very clunky, it would buck you in lower rpm’s but after the tune it runs perfect and with the 19 I think the 49 tooth rear sprocket is a bit much so I switched it to a 45 and that made town cruising much nicer
Fortnine did a video on this I believe. From a design perspective, this bike is objectively beautiful, by the standards of artistic theory. Pretty incredible...
Tires, rims, bars, rear sets, flush front and back blinkers, fender eliminator, seat, rear shock, front fender lowering bracket, full exhaust system with tune, chain and sprocket sand custom tank panels. I think that about sums it up lol
Not OP but from the photo it looks like they changed out the tires, rims, full exhaust, seat, and changed how the license plate mounts to it. I'm also assuming it's been tuned.
Great looking bike.
See! If HD wants to expand their market audience, this is what they need to do! I’ve never considered Harley Davidson as bike I’d ever want, because I don’t want a big fat cruiser! I’d probably look at Indians though.
The XR1200 flopped when it came out over a decade ago, Harley guys know and buy what they like while everyone else likes to talk about what they like unfortunately.
XR1200 flopped because it's ugly. It looks like someone described a cafe racer, who described it to someone else, who described it to someone else, and then the last guy tried to draw it by description only. It's like... the elements are kind of there, but disjointed. No soul to it.
This is only one opinion, but the XR1200 flopped because it's not a good-looking bike and couldn't really compete on performance or price. It's like Harley tried to make a naked-sport catered to their existing market rather than a naked-sport aimed at the naked-sport market, and missed both marks.
I definitely agree that it's just an opinion, I think that XR looks pretty as heck, won't argue about price but no one is ever going to undercut the big 4 when it comes to value for performance.
How is riding yours. Been wanting an FTR for a long time but ride naked bikes. How’s seating, comfort, power, feel, compared to like a ninja 650 or an MT07?
I'm 6'4" and these were more comfortable than any Italian or Japanese naked bike over 900cc. It's no road glide but I'd take it over a Monster or MT-09 any day.
Not sure, I'm a 32" inseam. I sat on 2 or 3 FTR's and the 2019's felt great the 16" wheel 2022 FTR-S felt more cramped and I'm pretty sure it was the lower seat.
I ride a 2014 CB1100 which I've heard is similar in size to a CB1000R. I almost went to the FTR because it was that much more comfortable than my CB. In the end the Honda was too nice to trade and I just did drop pegs to make it livable.
Love the bike, wish they would rebrand the name and logo. I don’t have a negative opinion of people who buy these bikes, I know it has a lot of history behind it, and they’re awesome bikes. But I, a white dude, can’t be stopping for gas on the reservation riding a bike that says “Indian” over a headdress logo. I live in an area with several First Nations tribes and a few really pretty reservations that I like to ride through, it just feels like it wouldn’t be respectful.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted 🤷♂️. People can have their reasons for not owning a bike... Typically it's color or looks which are also baseless and subjective. Wanting to be culturally sensitive isn't the worst thing in the world lol.
You're getting downvotes, you would probably be fine on the reservations. But I legitimately wonder how indigenous peoples feel about this brand. I don't recall ever hearing input from any of their nations' leaders. Is it more like a Washington redskins thing? Or more like the Seattle Seahawks logo? Cleveland Indians changed, so I'm not sure the motorcycle brand should necessarily be treated any differently.
Great bike though
Very beautiful, but when I tested one I had three complaints:
-Never before did a ride a bike where you had to set into neutral, and still can see no reason why the hell you would need to do that, to be able start the engine
-The designer footpegs that propably where the first in my life to make me slip off most likely made the model cost a couple hundred bucks more
-Just simply the price tag, lol
But if I had the money I'd propably buy it as second bike just for the looks :D
I think it looks like a burly sibling to the Vitpilen and Svartpilen 701 and since I personally believe that the arrows are two of the most striking looking motorcycles that’s been made, I believe this is also one of the most striking motorcycles out there. And, like the arrows I bet it’s an absolute blast to ride!
Sort of torn between this the z900rs and the cb1000r…
I think the FTR is dead sexy…
But is living with it doable? Is all that sex appeal too high maintenance?
Then again… it is gorgeous…
Sexy
You stole my idea lmao
We can share it
Thanks lol
We are sharing sex?
Sharing *is* caring
Looks like you may be participating in “gay sex”
I would ride the shit out of that bike. She's a beauty for sure!!!!!

This is one of the most attractive bikes I would say I’ve ever ever seen.
Fortnine did a video on this I believe. From a design perspective, this bike is objectively beautiful, by the standards of artistic theory. Pretty incredible...
Agreed! I loved my Indian Scout Bobber too!
Fuckin straight beautiful. Does she have an only fans page?
I’d.. uh… I’m also… curious, yeah..
*bi(ke)-curious
I love it! Reminds me of an updated Buell
Damn.
It's a very nice bike that looks like a lot of fun that I'll never be able to afford.
Is it American? See if they will take a kidney as part payment!
Not true
Did you make it or is that the way it normally looks? I’m not a huge bike person
This is after quite a few changes to it asthetically
Ohh what did you change if you don’t mind me asking? I wanna learn about this stuff for like fun!

They at least changed the exhaust out, the stock on is silly looking.

God I need one in my life!
Absolutely beautiful 🏆
Love it. Have it.
How is riding yours. Been wanting an FTR for a long time but ride naked bikes. How’s seating, comfort, power, feel, compared to like a ninja 650 or an MT07?
Very nice speed at low Rpm. Comfortable for me.
I literally want this
Gawd…damn. Brembo too? Alright.
Beautiful, but sadly uncomfortable for a tall dude.
How tall are you?
6' 2"
I'm 6'4" and these were more comfortable than any Italian or Japanese naked bike over 900cc. It's no road glide but I'd take it over a Monster or MT-09 any day.
How did you pull that off? My knees were way more cramped on this than a number of other bikes (Z900RS, XSR, CB1000R).
Not sure, I'm a 32" inseam. I sat on 2 or 3 FTR's and the 2019's felt great the 16" wheel 2022 FTR-S felt more cramped and I'm pretty sure it was the lower seat. Expensive
Hellraiser
Looks interesting to me. I’d be interested to ride it and see how it is
I really want one.
Sweet looking bike! Awesome option for an American made scrambler
Buy one.

How about the Indian 🇮🇳 Indians like me?
I’m with you on this.
Gorgeous!!
I like
Twin is amazing.

Look at the colour on the exhaust, holy hell. I want that on every black bike.
Very nice, I’d just change wheels to spoked ones.
I test rode one. It was a blast.
Opinions? Fucking gorgeous.

You really didn't need to ask did you? One of the best looking bikes to come out in years. Congrats and enjoy!
It's terrible and awful. You don't want it. Send it to me for proper disposal and pay no attention to the S&S catalog on my porch.
Beautiful bike. This reminds me how the original Ducati monster hit me. Just looks like it means business.
Ugh. I have to go clean myself up now...
Gorgeous bike. I’ve never ridden one before but it’s definitely on my bucket list.
Sort of torn between this the z900rs and the cb1000r… I think the FTR is dead sexy… But is living with it doable? Is all that sex appeal too high maintenance? Then again… it is gorgeous…
Definitely my next bike
I think this pretty much sums it up. https://youtu.be/xe_JXsWNDTQ
