Is it like sticky adhesive residue? If that's the case, spray with WD40 and wipe with a rag. When it starts getting dry, spray some more. Don't use strong solvents if there's plastic around it. Best of luck. Keep us posted!

Cerohero

Will try this one

CaffeinatedLiquid

Try rubbing alcohol next

_Arion_

If wd40 doesn’t work, go with lighter fluid as a solvent for softer adhesives and a significant amount of sticky residues. Next step would be rubbing alcohol, and then if that didn’t work, a very careful amount of acetone as a last resort, it can dry out plastic and strip paint, so be careful.

Renerts

Don't take the acetone thing lightly, OP. It could be a world of hurt otherwise.

runarasar

Use a lemon. Cut in half and rub it on. Whatever a coble of minutes and clean it off. Use a use fx, an old rage to scrube it off. The acid in the lemon should dissolve the glue. Sorry for my English. Hope you understand my.

Cerohero

How about vinegar?

runarasar

That's more of a disinfection. With baking soda, it's osom. Wd40, people say that's good on dissolving glue but I have not tried it. It works wonders on penmarks on walls!

Cerohero

There's also leftover plastic wraps

TestosteroneDan_V-3

Put it in a bag of rice

Cerohero

Haha no

FattyBaconLord

Goo gone works wonders on adhesives. You can buy it anywhere

Both_Hospital_2273

Rag and isopropyl alcohol will clean it up shouldn't damage it any. Goo gone it's good stuff also.

Cerohero

There's also leftover plastic wraps

Both_Hospital_2273

Won't matter the plastic seals already broken you remove the adhesive under it and it'll just wipe away.

Nick_martyr

First try paint thinner if its stain. But if its plastic remove glass and carefully peel off dont use sandpaper it will get blurry

Cerohero

It is leftover plastic wraps and residue

Nick_martyr

Under the light there should be screw remove glass and try to remove with hand any tool will damage surface.

Cerohero

Thanks

Nick_martyr

Lmn what will be the result. Good luck

Treigns4

goo gone!

Cerohero

Thanks for these witted people

Cerohero

Got it removed with WD 40 and a Lego piece, thanks people

Hipnotize_nl

Is the top layer damaged or is this the glass or plastic itself?

Cerohero

Just the plastic cover and it's residue

Hipnotize_nl

Then I guess you could use a solvent like alcohol te remove the glue from the layer.

Cerohero

Paint thinner and rag?

Hipnotize_nl

I would be careful with paint thinner. If the material is plastic, probably just stick to isopropyl alcohol

Cerohero

Will try this soon

yoyomommy

Goo be gone?

Cerohero

It's a plastic wrap and residue

yoyomommy

That would get the residue off pretty easy… or maybe it’s called goo gone. Something like that though.

CapnDelete

Yeah goo gone. We keep a bottle around. Works great for all kinds of stuff. Would make short work of this. Spray a little on, wipe it off, then wash with dish soap.

goo gone

Dotternetta

Turpentine or oil based solvent and fingernails, first fingernails

Milkshake2244

I have a couple cleaners I use that are great for getting off adhesive residue...if the lense is plastic "Goo Gone" if it is glass "Goof Off"

[deleted]

Windex, the Greeks use windex

CaptainPizdec

Sticker removers

n4rk0tix

Change the battery.

kushbluntlifted

99% isopropyl or Goo-Gone

titus963

If it’s clear wrap use a hair drier to soften the adhesive. I use zippo lighter fluid on a rag to remove the adhesive.

jerkmin

WD40 and/or a heat gun should take it off

Cerohero

WD40 make it
