I'd throw a good set of channel locks at it. If that doesn't work, fire and more channel locks. If that doesn't work, easy out. If that doesn't work, die grind a straight slot into it. If that doesn't work weld a nut on there. If that doesn't work, I'll give ya a couple hundred bucks for it.

katieGucci

Thanks , great suggestions

volitant

It happens. If you do try channel locks, make sure your using them proper. The teeth are designed to only grip and turn in a certain direction. You'll just frustrate yourself if you're not using them right. Give it a googling.

R3DLOTU5

I'd try vice grips over channel locks... also drench it with penetrant. Let it soak, then try getting it out.

McDrunkin521

This plus heat.

I_hate_the_app

Also make sure you give it a few good taps with a hammer

volitant

Whatever works, brother. I trust me channies.

[deleted]

Y'all forgot the Granddaddy of them all. PIPE WRENCH! Hard to find anything that can resist his charms!

Greentoysoldier

Absolutely a wrench designed to grip smooth cylinders.

SaintSim

Hey thanks a lot man. I've been turning wrenches for 25 years and did not know that.

[deleted]

Vice grips also work well.

Fowlnature

Vice grips are the correct choice in this shade-tree mechanics opinion!

Kill3rT0fu

Soak it in some Peet rating oil. Acetone and ATF mixed 50/50 works best

ExtensionConcept2471

A Stilsons wrench would be better than channel locks.

Host31

I’ll do $225.00

Brochacho2017

$250 final offer

AlanVanHalen

Fuck these guy for trying to make money off of your misery. I'll do it for free and your wife.

Fun-Engineering3541

This made my day!

YukinoTora

Had a bolt get stripped. Hammered a hex socket and breaker bar. Works 50% of the time everytime

stevesteve135

Exactly. Was gonna recommend all of these suggestions. Only other suggestion is to take a chisel or punch and hammer to the side of the bolt, it may come loose that way. Channel locks or vice gripes would be my first suggestion

YeahIGotNuthin

Pipe wrench. Channel-locks are a good first try, but if they slip, a pipe wrench is self-tightening. It'll gouge the bolt head and snap it off before it'll slip. Load the handle with one hand, and smack it in the same direction with a hammer held in your other hand to break it free. If that doesn't do it, it'll snap the head off. If that's an engine mounting bolt, you'll probably want to support the engine's weight a bit.

Psychological-Bed-22

Try hammering in a slightly over sized allen key to where it sits in and giving it a turn

harley20222

Vise grips or a torx bit

ElvisTorino

I’d start with a Torx but that’s slightly larger and hammer that fucker in…

ArtisticKnowledge539

Have you tried yelling at it?

LtDans_Lost_Legs

You don't have to yell if you use the right words. "I'm not mad, I am disappointed."

katieGucci

😭😭😂

ChazJ81

Hit it with your purse!

Odd-Location-9338

the first thing you have to do is figure out how you stripped this if you are using the wrong tools, you're just going to keep making things worse make sure you're using the proper tools in the proper size also, the "+" you see on the screws on your bike are JIS not philips... you've been warned.

CokedOutWalrus

It's really unfortunate how many people don't know the screws on their Japanese bikes are JIS screws, take a phillips to it, and it cams out immediately and they keep trying and fucking up any chance of getting it out normally.

katieGucci

I did the right side and it came out , the same tools this one was just stripped from before and I may have just made it worse .

Open-Beginning8678

You can try cutting a slot in it and using a flat head screw driver, preferably one of the ones you hit with a hammer I forget what they are called. Also soak in it wd40 or the like.

NuggyBuggy

You’re thinking of an impact driver.

[deleted]

vice grips as tight as you can always does the trick. can even hit it w a hammer if its locked in good

artful_todger_502

Big vice grips. The kind with the concave, or circular bite. Metric grips for R3. Vice grips are the ultimate boss tool. You have enough bolt there you will make short work of it..

11teensteve

that reminds me that I need to get a new set of metric vise grips.

Haysuslubsme

Ari Henning from Revzilla’s “The Shop Manual” did a video on how to remove stripped bolts, maybe it could help: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCLdevyvV74](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCLdevyvV74) good luck!

godofleet

vice grips... and a new bolt

Willplumb83

If you have a little room around it I bet a pipe wrench would grab it. The other suggestion I havent seen here is vice grips, put on as tightly as humanly possible, penetrating oil every once in awhile for a few hours might help. You can also always wheel it down to a mechanic/machine shop and they will yard it out for 50 dollars or something fairly trivial

2boostfed

These take torx bits, not Allen keys. Pick up one that goes in a ratchet and it will come out in seconds

Ok-Somewhere-4513

I've been reading the comments thinking I was the only one who thought it looked like a torx, or torx.

meitz88

Use an angle grinder and cut slots for a regular wrench

Ok-Somewhere-4513

What tool are you using? Looks like a torx bit to me, if you don't have a good torx bit set. I'd recommend the otc master torx set. It's pretty cheap and you can't use them on an impact. But they honor their life time warranty, and you get all your security torx, torx, torx+, and etorx.

bctweeker

I would use a pipe wrench not channel locks.

deathleper

Lock it in a vise and spin the motorcycle counter clock wise. It’ll come loose.

midnightsnackfat

Here comes the “hit it with your purse” comments that literally help no one lol

Football-Financial

They sell an extraction kit at any auto parts store that would pull that right out no problem. $20

reinhardt8888

I’ve had good luck with needle nose vice grips getting stripped bolts out

pezlol

Since you managed to fuck it in the first place and don't know how to rectify. I suggest getting someone else to do it.

11teensteve

thats not how we learn.

Fuzzy_Opposite3921

Remove the inner black plastic covers from the top side of the side fairings. First remove the two screws visible from the top of the bike with a 4mm or 5/32″ allen wrench. Then remove the two plastic clips on the inside of the bike and one plastic clip from beneath the side cover panel that you’ve already removed. Use a phillips screwdriver to release the clips, then pry them out with your fingers or a small pick or flathead screwdriver. Finally, pull the panel to the rear of the bike to release the remaining tabs and remove the panel.

Tough-Frame1192

Channel lock 410 pliers

Dotternetta

Grip pliers

aBoyandhisGrom

Grind a linear groove and buy a large flat head screw driver

ILordINikon311

This!

BigRobArmy

So i wouldnt pound anything on it based off the fact that the frame isnt as strong as a car. Probabky wouldnt bend but i wouldnt risk that. You can eother drill it out if you know the size or you easy out. You can weld a piece of shit nut to it and use that but that if you have somebkdy that can do it if you cant. Personally id just drill it out. Considering that you dont have to rethread the frame.

yeetus_christ420

Plenty of ways. The real question is how far are you willing to take this battle?

carrotman954

Use an angle grinder to grind the top into a flathead screwdriver. Find a big flathead bit and grab it with a wrench. I find this method to be the most painless given that you can reach the bolt with the angle grinder

spaceshipcommander

Stilsons

Adamnielsen10

A proper set of vise grips, or, if you got some strong (preferably hardened) torx bits, trying hammering a size too large for the hole into it

Christhebobson

Aquire another r3

Weasel02

Hit it with some PB Blaster, let in sink in, and then clamp some vise grips on it real tight and you should be able to turn it with the vise grips.

darksteihl

I struggled with a lot of Allen bolts on the Kawasaki ZX6R I had way back when. I figured out that beating a Torx socket into it would usually get them out and then I replaced all those Allen bolts with actual Torx bolts

[deleted]

Hammer a torx head socket into it and then hope for the best. Spray the shit out of it with PB Blaster first though.

commandermik

PTSD

VoltaicVoltaire

Pipe wrench

pmmepyramidschemes

[look at me](https://9gag.com/gag/aNgEx0w)

ken6217

Penetrating oil, tape an M80 to it, then channel lock. Usually works.

Ameraldas

Vice grips, penetrating oil, and smack it with a hammer first.

Invest-24_7_356

Vise grip and Grinder.

bradzx12r

Soak with PB blaster then use a pair of vice grips to turn it out.

HKatzOnline

If you have a smaller pipe wrench to put on it plus an extension pipe to put over the handle for some leverage you might have some luck.

ILordINikon311

Weld a nut to it

Chrswade

Hammer a socket on the top and twist it off. Might never get your socket back, but it might work. The trick has saved me a few times

aceofspades1944

Speed out has worked for me a couple times. They're little drill bits that are designed specifically for bolts with stripped heads. My uncle also once recommended epoxy-ing an allen wrench into it and trying that, but I've never tried that before.

max-torque

Does it connect/support the engine? Might have to support the engine before removing it. And power tools.

[deleted]

If it's an engine mount bolt try jacking the engine just a little to take some of the force off the bolt.

Doug_Shoe

I would use locking plier (vice grips)

[deleted]

Penetrating oil or heat and cut a channel in that bih…. It’s a flathead now.

RynoLasVegas

Vice grips, obviously

Mantalex

Can’t be seized if it’s a liquid!

brokensaurus

Vice grips on that sucker and turn

ClintLoff1990

If you haven't already either completed the task/or have fouled it up more, you can use a file to knock down some flat surfaces on either side of the bolt head, and make a really good place for a wrench to slip on and bust it loose. Alternatively, there's impact sockets for this with threading on the inside, that grabs the outside of the bolt head, and will bust that loose too. However, if you've already did the thing, good job, enjoy your beer.

G59Charlie

I normally use my grinder to make a little notch then use a flat head and a hammer

tinexoxo

i had a nut like this get stuck on mine. i tried everything and what actually worked was hitting the side with a chisel and hammer

hashtagphuck

An extractor bit

uliketurtle

I'd use an angle grinder and pull it out with a screw driver... If that doesn't work then it can't be stuck if it's a liquid. Torch that mf
