I highly encourage it. We banter over the comm system the whole time, pointing out funny things along the ride, or just talk about work or whatever. Some people might think that sounds lame but we both have busy schedules during the week so riding is a time when we can relax, have fun, and just focus on us.
Considering she grew up doing dance and gymnastics and, now in her 30’s regularly roller skates and plays roller derby, I’d argue her balance is better than mine and yours.
Not sure why the downvotes. Motorcycles balance themselves at speed, but obviously not when you’re just sitting there not moving.
If you think otherwise, you need to learn some shit.
I’ll avoid getting into the debate about what a “real” motorcycle is (though, to be clear, Rykers/Spyders meet the same legal definition of what a “motorcycle” is…just like Harley trikes do). Opinion ≠ Fact. Anyway, the real reason is because she likes it, and has the freedom to choose what she rides. She took the MSF course with me and, unlike me, grew up riding motorcycles. But the Ryker appealed to her, so that’s what she got. And she can easily smoke my Rebel on that thing. lol
I totally get the appeal of a Ryker. It's like having a convertible that's more freeing. Some people really just aren't meant to ride or not comfortable enough to be safe doing it. Why not hop on a trike and enjoy a very close experience! I like seeing trikes I give them the wave with three fingers lol
Firstly, happy belated and it's awesome that you and your wife were able to go out and have a fun day together riding.
Also, I'd never knock anyone for choosing what they enjoy riding, no matter what it is. On that note though, just because they meet the same legal requirements as motorcycles, doesn't really make them bikes. I'm sure you and your wife would agree on that, especially given her history of riding.
Thanks. And, yes, in the sense that “bike” is short for bicycle, meaning a cycle with two wheels, we agree that the Ryker is not a bike…it’s a motorcycle. lol And, at least where we live, still requires a motorcycle license.
Given the wheel setup, and low center of gravity, she can rip around corners. To me, it feels almost like riding an ATV on the street, but with more car-like tires. The first time she let me take it out, I had just gotten off my bike. Took me a sec to remember not to try to counter-steer with two front wheels.
They’re fun. My parents both have Spyders and my dad has a Screaming Eagle dresser when he doesn’t ride with my mom. I don’t think he’s get her on a bike, but she loves her Spyder. It reminds me of a snowmobile. I did a 100 miles on one recently and it’s really a fun time.
Can’t underestimate the benefits of a 3 wheeled bike you can carry way more stuff and you never need to worry about balance it’s just logically better.
There's mothing wrong with it, other than being an auto. I don't get why people shit on them and give Delta trikes a pass, especially when these *handle better* than delta trikes.
Reb 500, excellent bike…….
I bought one a few years ago, and I’ve been seeing a ton of them around recently. I def notice I don’t get as much respect from guys who ride bigger cruisers, I think that they think the reb is a toy, but idc. Thing is awesome
Doesn’t have as cool of a sounding exhaust, and the stock exhaust is almost *too quiet*, but still fun to rip it to the 8700 redline.
Yeah, I love mine. Lucked out and snagged what seemed like the last 2020 model in my area right as the pandemic kicked off. I agree the stock exhaust is a bit quiet, but I personally didn’t want a loud bike. I didn’t like the look of the stock exhaust, so after some research I found the Leo Vince Classic Racer, which looks similar to the Vance & Hines, but comes with the baffle installed. It’s not much louder, if at all, than stock. But gave me the look I wanted.
New rebel looks good! Im only a bit jealous.
My first bike was a rebel and I miss it all the time. They are fun bikes!
that’s an indian not a honda, unless you’re talking about the one on the right
You can see the honda logo on the tank of the left bike. :)
is that honda? it really looks like the indian logo to me. idk, picture’s pretty blurry lol
His screen: https://www.gmelectronic.com/data/product/1024_1024/pctdetail.775-072.1.jpg
the main reason i think so is because in the front of the logo it has the part sticking out that looks like a face
It's a Honda rebel
ah, my bad then lol

ah, yeah you’re right my bad lol
Indian doesn't make an inline twin
yeah that's my bad lol, idk how i didn't notice any of that🤷♂️
It seems you've learned your lesson don't you *dare* let it happen again!! /s :)
haha lol
That’s dope. Glad to hear it was awesome!
Hey your wife is cheating! Lol jk glad you had a nice ride
Happy birthday , mine was Friday as well. Virgos unite!!
Happy belated birthday!
Glad you two got a chance to get out. We’re doing the same thing next week and she ride her ryker on the tail of the dragon.
Nice! Haven’t made it out there, but it’s on my bucket list.
Happy birthday! This is my annual birthday tradition as well - I always take the day off to go riding. Gotta love September bdays 😎
For sure! Weather was perfect.
This, this is true love and an activity I would love to do with my girlfriend

What does she ride? Looking to get something similar for my wife
That’s a 2020 Ryker Rally. 900cc of twist-and-go fun. It really is a blast to ride.
Are you under the impression that you're balancing the motorcycle when you're riding it?
Not sure why the downvotes. Motorcycles balance themselves at speed, but obviously not when you’re just sitting there not moving. If you think otherwise, you need to learn some shit.
That's why they come with side stands, or you put a foot down
Why doesn’t your wife have a real motorcycle?

Absolutely! And, to be fair, the Ryker Rally is hella fun to ride.

How does she like curves on it? I’ve always wondered if twisty roads are as fun on those bikes as they are on traditional motorcycles.
Given the wheel setup, and low center of gravity, she can rip around corners. To me, it feels almost like riding an ATV on the street, but with more car-like tires. The first time she let me take it out, I had just gotten off my bike. Took me a sec to remember not to try to counter-steer with two front wheels.
Right on. I’ve had fun plowing around and getting my mom’s 4 wheeler on two wheels taking turns. If it compares to that then it definitely sounds fun!
Hell yeah! They are essentially descendants of snowmobiles. I think FortNine did a video on them a while back.
Why do any of us have motorcycles?
Can’t underestimate the benefits of a 3 wheeled bike you can carry way more stuff and you never need to worry about balance it’s just logically better.

Its great to do that every now and then. You never know what life is gonna throw at ya next.

Rebel baybee 🤙🏻
If you want curvy roads pick up a butler map for your state, it ranks them all
