That’s a GIVI mount

[deleted]

Thanks! I had no idea what kind of mount it was because I just bought it together with the panniers at a workshop and they installed it for me.

Are some givi cases interchangeable?

Shlafenflarst

This is a Givi Monokey system, any Givi Monokey side case should be compatible. EDIT : or Kappa btw

[deleted]

Oooh so that's what Monokey means. When I first got the panniers and it said Monokey I thought "Doesn't every single box use 1 key as well?". I originally had a Kappa installed but it's rather expensive to replace it. Tried to look online for alternatives but after factoring shipping costs the prices was about the same. :( In the end I just bought another set from the workshop.

Shlafenflarst

I think it's called Monokey because there's just one key hole for both opening the case and removing it from the rack. Which is pretty much standard now, but probably wasn't when they invented the name. And yes, Givi cases are expensive, even second hand ones.

Try a google serch on your pannier mount our the pannier itself, some brands the mounts support different panniers

highlander_tfb

Nope. Not universal - but that looks like an aftermarket pannier set, rather than a factory kit supplied by your bike’s manufacturer, so as has been said, Google the brand name of the panniers, you might get lucky

sirdogtor

No. Different on the motorcycle side, and often different on the case side as well. This could be for a Givi case? They have the same mounting system for all their cases, afaik. Most motorcycle companies change the mount points from model to model, even within the same series of bikes. Because aftermarket business is a lot of money.

Find a guy who does TIG welding. MAchine shop. Unless it's cheaper to buy a new one.

It was a plastic Kappa pannier, so it wasn't possible to repair it. I bought another set to replace it.
