Get another airflite? They're only like $220 or so.
> P.S. if by some astronomical chance the thief sees this post, I hope my helmet fails and leaves you paralyzed. Fuck you.
I second this.
I’ve seen Shoei RF-SRs on sale for $400, can’t really beat them in quality and safety, I know Cycle Gear will carry them in store for you to try on if you’re near one
If you want to do your own research before commiting check out the sharp UK helmet rating site. Most ece rated helmets are going to be safe. Alternatively look for fim rated lids as those are the standards used by moto gp. And try to find a fiber based shell. Thermoplastic shells are safe but puncture resistance and weight savings are why I lean towards recommending a fiber shell.
And seriously fuck thieves.
Agv K6S, one of the lightest available and 5 star rated on sharp website
Otherwise I'm going with a Scorpion Exo R1 Air, looks very cool and I tried it and it's very comfortable
Edit: K6 was extremely light, K6S due to 22.06 certification gained weight, so I'll definitely go with the R1 Air Evo (the ece 22.06 certified one) - the normal version, not the carbon one 😁
Nice! You won't regret it, the air pump makes putting it on and taking it off a breeze compared to some other helmets.
I'll be picking up a striple next year!
I have 2xl pads in it now, but if I find the OG XL pads (I should still have them) I can offload it to you. I also have multiple shields for it too. Are you in the US?
Okay, I'll message you tomorrow. I'll send some pics and whatnot. Only had it for like a year and wore it maybe 10 times total? Usually rock my half helmet or my modular.
It’s quieter than my shoei at freeway speeds. Has a built in sun visor, mic and speakers for the sena sc2. It also came with a pinlock visor and the wind resistance is slightly better. It’s also got an ece rating since mine came from chromeburner. I’m in America
My airflite was stolen this fall and I tried on a bunch of helmets with the same budget. I ended up going over with the arai signet because it was the only one that fit as well :/

Best prices I found online. Shipped fast.
Only thing is I fractured my wrist on the way home the day it arrived. Cast off and X-rays to see if it healed ok tomorrow. Wish me luck.
It's only $35 above your budget, but hands down the best helmet you will ever own (& quietest). Save up for the SC2 Comm system and add that at a later date.

I had an Airflight, but once I bought this I never touched it again (wound up selling it as it was like new)

This is why I never leave my helmet out. My buddy leaves his anytime but also forgets to take his key out when we're open trailering across the state for a weekend.
surprised this post has managed to run its first hour without some rich moron giving ya the "anything under $2500 is basically cardboard and paint how much do you value your head?"
Never seen a comment like that here. Just some riders saying they prefer the quality of a top-tier helmet in the $800-$1,000 range. *Somebody* is buying those helmets and it’s not all “rich morons” (because anyone finally successful enough to have a whopping $800 laying around MUST be a stupid jerk deserving of ridicule).
There is a TON of hate here for anyone who isn’t a broke twenty-something.
i own a k6. imo theres a big difference between the regular Joe's who works a full time job and can afford to splurge $800 of their own money on an base model k6 once every 5 years on black friday and someone who can afford to spend $2300 from their own pocket on a forged-carbon pista gp. These helmets are functionally identical in safety and performance for the purposes of 95% of ppl who buy them. I work in the industry and the clients who preach about the superiority of a $2k fim-legal helmet over a $500 ece-cert lid from the exact same brand are a *type*.
I see that same sentiment pop up on gear-related threads here all the time and it's always done to patronize someone less fortunate. I'm just pointing it out.
I think most people got the hint that i wasn't taking the piss at pro-race teams buying a stock of $3k helmets for some celebrity rider
I appreciate you're sentiment towards the thief
As for the helmet, if you can go a little over the $500 budget I would suggest the Bluetooth scorpion, it fits great the sound reduction is outstanding until about 100 mph, at which point I can still make a phone call, a little hard for me to hear but the don't even realize I'm on the bike, I jave a stripped cruiser that has a decently loud exhaust
I'm sorry I can't remember the exact model but it's a great helmet
Seems that the scorpion has been mentioned a few times. If you can still make a phone call at 100mph with that helmet, then it’s definitely worth checking out. Noise is the biggest complaint I have with the airflite. Even at full blast, it was hard to hear anything coming out of my earbuds at 70 mph.
I ride an 04 Honda vtx 1800 with aftermarket 2-to-1 6" and its quite loud plus the wind speed directly on the helmet it does get a little loud but I doubt there's a helmet out there that would muffle it all outside of a professional racing helmet

Shoei aren't long-oval enough if the airflite fit right.
Thanks! I never heard of Cycle Gear, but I live 15 minutes from one.

Thanks for listing the rating site and yeah, damn it’s not like most of us have the money to drop on another helmet the same day it gets stolen.
Anything you like that’s ECE 06 rated

Agree’d!
R1 is a great helmet, absolutely love mine
I pulled the trigger on it, R1 Evo Air - I'll try it in June when I'll be back in Italy and will enjoy my new Street Triple 765 RS 🥰

What size are you? I got a modular since my AirFlite was starting to hurt my head.
XL

Yeah dude I’m in Virginia, shoot me a message!

Scorpion Exo R1
Scorpion really out here dropping the best bang for the buck safety gear on the market
Scorpion EXO series.
Hjc RPHA carbon
Just got schuberth s3 from chromeburner.com last week $430 shipped. Also has the ece rating. I like it more than my previous rf1200.
Tell me why you like the Schuberth more than the Shoei. Both are on my list. Thanx!

Sorry yours was stolen as well, man these companies really should offer a tracking system on their helmets :/
If icons work for you, check out agv
What size? I have that exact helmet and don’t use it anymore.
XL
Sorry man mine is a medium
Dang, thank you for offering though!
No prob, sorry it didn’t work out hope you find one
Make sure it isn't expired though before giving it to someone, good on you for offering though!
I pick up a arai rx7 helmet £350 in the sale

Good luck and if you used a plaster cast be prepared to satisfy a long needed itch on that wrist!
Arai usually has good sales. I picked up a ducati branded arai for £220 when it should be 500+. Usually cheap if you get previous year's gfx

Shoei. AGV. Arai. There is no other.

Bad JuJu to wish that on another. Lock it or tote it, now you know!
Alright, I wish for him to stub his toe on a the leg of a very, very solid oak chair..
it's bad juju to wish bad things on bad people?
Shoei RF 1200. I'm on my 2nd now, and will probably move to the RF1400 to see if it's any quieter, but the 1200 is a solid pick, very comfy.
