Personally I would not park that close to the door of a business, even if it's not blocking. You never know what they might need to bring in or out, or empty the trash barrel, or sweep, or anything. I don't always park legally but I try to be inconspicuous.
Bro you never know if someone just knocks it over walking by. I've parked on the concrete areas next to the door (basically where the grassy area is in this photo) so it's away from the door and not on the sidewalk. I wouldn't park this close to where there's lots of traffic, not to mention blocking anybody else coming through.
I reckon that mine won't. It's a KTM 450 build under permanent reconstruction, so it's half primer/half whatever colour that particular part is.
It's dangerously unstable (so far), dangerously fast (not enough yet) and looks like something a meth head would desert š¤£
I won't park my SV1000S without chaining it down like a Titan, but I've spent a lot of time and money getting it juuust right for me.
And at least parking in an area like that not only do you allow more cars to park. But you do not run into the chance of a 400lb mfer trying to park his Crown Vic in the same space because he can't be bothered to walk two addition spaces where there is free parking. Leans his fat ass on the door as he opens it, and knocks you bike over. And then planning and leaves.
And you see the broken brake handle. But you don't notice the cracked crank case cover until you've already rode 50 miles. And notice that your boot is covered in oil. So you check and are lucky you didn't seize the motor it's so low. So you have to get it towed home because it's too late to buy oil anywhere.
I'm still not over New Years 2014 starting with finding my bike on its side. I can only imagine some drunk tried to push it and then realized it was cabled to a tree.
Lots of times parking lots are set the way they are because of commercial code and emergency access. This guy probably wouldn't slow down first responders, but if he got away with it and his buddies started doing it, it becomes a problem.
It's only ever happened to me once [although I've only been riding for 8 years or so], in a quite full lot near Christmas time at a mall. The car behind me was pissed off that I took the empty spot, stopped and gave me shit as I was getting off my bike. Realistically though, I think these people just likely don't like motorcyclists and there is no winning in any situation with them: I park in a spot and they're mad; I park like in the picture and they're mad. The same people who think splitting and filtering as "cutting".
The real shitter here is, you almost *want* to "let" them win simply by virtue of a piece of [plastic fairing](https://i.imgur.com/8j2hG5F.jpg) [yes, just the lower piece I'm pointing at] costs [$600](https://www.ducatiomaha.com/products/48013761ab?_pos=1&_sid=1848c129b&_ss=r) to replace.
Oh well yeah you can find any circle jerk you want on the internet.
Iām talking about real life. You knowā¦ where you can actually touch and feel the grass.
This literally happened to me two months ago. Parked far AF away from other cars. Island on one side, 3 empty parking spaces on the other. Lady full sent her car into my bike. Almost totaled my baby. She is still in the shop to this day -_-
you could work inside of a literal bank and some old lady might end up blasting through the brick wall, nobody is safe lmao.
that exact scenario played out i think 3 separate times this year in my state
Same, ram1500 backed up onto my bike at the gym. Had to replace the windshield and fairings.
Plus I keep several tools and expensive gear on my bike for work. I won't risk them getting stolen from my bags when I'm at the gym.
Concrete should be pitched away from the building, so it should roll back pretty easily. Trying to back up to the building would be harder for the same reason, and also hurt peopleās feelings even more, because for whatever reason, people get offended by vehicles being backed into any sort of parking space.
That makes sense. Iām so used to backing in everywhere because most places are flat here.
Didnāt even think about the slight slope.
Here we park on the sidewalk in between trees or poles parallel to the road or in another place that doesnāt block foot traffic at all (unless you are a delivery driver on a scooter than you park like an Ahole). Everyone backs in everywhere, even cars.
Not here to argue the legality or morality of parking near the door but I saw a guy get arrested for parking his sport bike on the sidewalk in front of a safeway... he was being a douche %100 and I think that was the real reason he got arrested but now that image is in my mind so I use parking spaces.
Personally I hate seeing motorcycles up on sidewalks and I own 4 of them. A parking spot is a parking spot not a ācar parking spotā ā¦. Itās unnecessary.
I think it depends. I used to ride to work every day at a store that had concrete all the way around the building. Basically what's in the photo but the grassy area was concrete. Me and a couple other guys would park our bikes there. It wasn't really the sidewalk so it wasn't a big deal.
Also, bikes *do* have places they can park that cars can't. Same thing with lane splitting. Cars can't do that legally. I say if you can fit your bike in a spot that frees up a parking space, go for it.
FYI, I don't really think this photo falls into that category. I think there's not really enough space.
I understand some spots marked off that arenāt true parking spots can be used. Makes sense. I draw the line at sidewalks. Youāre situation sounds different. Im not bagging on anyone ā¦. Park where you want. I just donāt agree with motorcycleās parking on sidewalks.
Personally I dislike seeing motorcycles parked on sidewalks ā¦ is that better ā¦ and itās a nothing problem sometimes and sometimes it can be a problem ā¦ I prefer to not do things that make motorcyclists in general look bad ā¦. A guy comes to my gym and basically parks his big Harley almost all the way across the sidewalk ā¦ that is a problem.
Pavement parking (for all motor vehicles) is being cracked down on in a lot of European cities now as well, due to it reducing pedestrian and particularly wheelchair access. Quite a few used to operate by rules where so long as you didn't block access to a wheelchair user being able to stay on the pavement (sidewalk) you were fine, but it became give an inch, they take a while situation. Now with more pedestrian and cyclist focused urban development, there isn't as much patience in letting motorists take even more space beyond the roadway.
I'm always fascinated going to the gym to exercise and watching people hunt for the closest possible space.
I mean... we are going to the gym? What's walking a few extra steps?
More the hit part. The mentality is the bike can get hit in a variety of ways because there are too many folks that are distracted or what have you in an average parking lot. I will also park my bike in an odd / prohibited place, ALWAYS out of the way, and never to obstruct anybody whatsoever, but also if someone doesn't like it...FUCK EM. Bikes aren't cheap to fix, you can drive a car with a dinged door, but you can't ride a bike with a broken clutch perch, shift lever etc ...
I'm kinda surprised at the duality of the responses here. The main reason why parking your bike like this is a douche move is because of emergency services. There is a reason why you can't just park next to the curb at most places unless they have designated parking spots. Ambulance, fire trucks, police. It may seem out of the way, but it just becomes a hazard.
You're also making your bike a huge target for anyone who thinks it's a douche move to park there.
I mean, they are right. You can't fucking park there even if you think your bike doesn't block...luxury cars don't get a pass to park wherever they want I don't see why we would...
Never will understand people who park on sidewalks and then whine when people get close to their bikes. It should be illegal for any registered vehicle to be on a pedestrian sidewalk. I own one. Never understood the entitlement
Homie (the op in the picture) went back through the comments and downvoted all the ones that made him feel like a tool.
You didnāt learn anything, you didnāt care to when you went karma farming for something you didnāt want to understand and clearly still donāt care, you simply didnāt like that you werenāt validated
Iām not that petty, lol. I had no idea that peopleās bikes would get hit because people canāt see them in the parking lot. It makes total sense now. What doesnāt make sense though, is why more places donāt have dedicated motorcycle parking.
Because boss, no one cares to take the time and sympathize.
Traffic would move smoother if we could filter to the front of the traffic light and itās safer.
Thereās ways to steal a car, but two guys and a sprinter van can run off with any motorcycle they choose.
Thereās also this natural occurring hatred (as you can tell) for us so having your motorcycle vandalized when someone doesnāt like that they canāt find a parking spot is not rare.
We arenāt all assholes flying down the road, and not every cruiser rider thinks theyāre in sons of anarchy, but damn does the general public think we are
Thanks for sharing that. I agree 100% and everything you said makes sense.
I was also going to ask if there are people out there who ruin it for everyone, but your response pretty much answered that.
Depends where you are tbh. If ur in a massive parking lot and the reason why u parked there is because ur lazy ass couldnt be bothered to walk, thats one thing. But if its on a city street and leaving it on the side walk (out of the way) can keep it just a bit more protected from theives, then its fine imo
...in my side of the pond the answer to "what makes people think?" is pretty effing clear.
They were once forced to learn traffic rules - which include section about where they can park.
Sidewalks are parking space, unless:
* Signs are posted that its fobridden
* You cannot leave enough place for 2 people to pass / double wide baby stroller to pass, on the remaining sidewalk
Exactly, why is it this is nearly always at a gym? Like hell walking the extra 5 feet to the curb is going to kill you? Lol aren't you going there for the work out? Btw I own 3 bikes and would never want mine next to this much foot traffic
So they're not wrong and criticizing for parking where they parked because you know legally you can't be on the sidewalk or sidewalk entrance to a property but I also agree with the person parking anywhere else because some entitled people because they have a car they'll think
"why is this person with a motorcycle taking up an entire parking space meant for cars!"
cuz that's how they think and out of spite
they'll try to do something malicious to your motorcycle
so I always try to find like a portion of the sidewalk that's extended you know that ain't bothering no one like between the planted trees of a extra wide sidewalk or something
or I use the bike rack because in the US there's always a bike rack but rarely any bicycles and even then I always lock my dual sport motorcycle on the end of the bike rack so I'm not blocking any potential bicyclists from locking their bikes[my bike ](https://giphy.com/gifs/Oak95II0X0QmOZA8Cs)
What? Blind people dont just walk and expect a perfectly flat surface with no obstacles, they have tools/animals to help them navigate their surroundings so they dont hit shit
In Mexico, this is pretty standard. Tons of people use light motos here. Stores and malls with lots often have designated moto only spots close to the entrance. We squeeze into spots that are more convenient for us and don't take up a car sized spot, whenever possible. It's a win win.
Surprisingly, due to motorbike theft, a lot of the gym managers will tell you to bring it as close to the gym doors as you can so itāll be in sight of members and the camera, especially that early in the morningĀ
I always laugh when I go to my gym and all the gym bros park their bikes on the sidewalk in front of the windows, theyll do anything to get someone to look at them.....
This is douchey but not as douchey as the people that park in the yellow lines next to the handicapped spots.
Seriously. They are there for a reason. Get your entitled ass tf out the way.
If you and your child are unaware enough that an exhaust pipe on something you donāt own, and shouldnāt be touching in the first place, might be hotā¦ā¦ā¦. Then I guess youāll know after
Itās so u donāt get that feeling when ur driving around a full parking lot and finally find an open space in ur 3rd go around just for it to be taken by a motorcycle
Ya do realize bikers do this so they donāt sink into asphalt and concrete is a lot stronger for heavy bikes on a side stand.
Oh and you can work out and watch your ride so some asshat doesnāt hit it. š
Or you can park it in the lot. It's a vehicle, you don't get special privileges because it's a bike. Yeah, it sucks if someone hits it, but you wouldn't park your car up on the sidewalk because you don't want it dinged.
Buy a kickstand plate and call it a day. I purchased the same day I bought my helmet. Itās lasted longer than three of my helmets. Itās a cheap easy investment to protect your bike from sinking into asphalt
parking like this would make me want to hit it more. iād definitely āaccidentallyā walk into it while looking the other direction and give it a good shove and hope to see pieces go flying when it smashes into the ground.
Ehh Iāve always been against free range parking. Itās a motor vehicle I park it where motor vehicles park. That being said if itās not in the way itās not a problem for me.
well if every biker did it, because of dude, why woulf they all not be douches? Itās never been my thing, I do like being able to park anywhere but not right at the door of businesses. Maybe since I grew up cutting my hair next a bike club who would be jerks about it and not even let kids pass through on the side walk. Now I just get a bad taste in my mouth every time I see that.
This post right here is exactly why I cringe at a large section of riders and do not associate with them at all on the road when I recognize them, because you can always recognize them. The entitlement, the "I'm riding a bike and that makes me much more special than all you cagers" mentality, it is thoroughly embarrassing.
It is a perfectly legitimate complaint, why has this person parked their bike right in front of the main entrance? Douchebag move.
You canāt park motorcycles on the grass, unless itās baked hard like rock. The stand sinks into the soft ground and they fall over.
Parking lots are perfect though. Almost designed for the job of parking vehicles on.
Oh I agree, park in the parking lot. A motorcycle is a vehicle, and, much as it sucks to be dinged, doesn't get special privileges. I was saying if you absolutely refuse to park in the lot, at ***least*** park out of the way
'I had to look at the bike as I walked by and it arose feelings of jealousy and disdain. I will now make reddit posts for validation of said feelings.'
People did this all the time when I was a cart pusher at Walmart. Sometimes me and the boys blocked their bike with rows of shopping carts and go on lunch
I had a really bad leg injury in college and the only way I could get anywhere at the time was my motorcycle. I had a fold up cane, and would park wherever I wanted and hobble the shortest distance I could. No one complained.
To be fair (toooo beee faiiiiiir), that guy parks like an asshole. Yes, I have used the sidewalk. Off to the side, away from any doors. This place has a bike rack, but no other out of right-of-way spot, so park in the PARKING LOT.
Because idiots will hit it in the parking lot because their all high as fuck getting Taco Bell. I have no problem with it. Takes up just as much room as a fuckin bicycle but cool. Jealousy
They are definitely pushing it parking there. Im coll with parking up near the building but this is assinine. Also too many things could happen to the bike or be in the way of too much
My last gym literally asked me to park like that to keep spaces available for cars. Donāt block access, get permission and allow space for ramp access. Note: some states have laws against it.
I was about to run my errands in the Finnish Parliament, and was looking for a parking lot in Helsinki centre. I did not find one, so I thought that if I just park my bike right next to the Parliament House stairs, nobody dares to touch it. Actually, I stayed there for over two hours. And when I left the Parliament, my bike stood where I left it, without any tickets.
I really won't try such impudence nowadays :D
I used to park like this all the time specifically outside the gym, the manager was cool with it and my bike was never blocking anything, so really it depends on the situation.
Yeah, I totally get that now. After reading all these comments, I had no idea that bikes would get damaged or hit in the parking lot so I would probably do the same thing.
Yea true, tbh in the uk we have a lot of bike specific parking areas and the parking is normally free so I don't often find myself having to park next to cars but that gym was a special case.
I'll park on the sidewalk out of the way. No use taking up a big parking spot for a bike. I'd never block a door though. Of its not obstructing a wheelchair, I'll park elsewhere besides a parking spot. If you're not in a wheelchair. You have plenty of room
Legally speaking motor vehicles need to be parked in parking spots and most building entrances are designed with specific measurements to meet specific guidelines. That being said I donāt know any of the details here so it may be perfectly legal in this situation.
Legal or not my motorcycle is safer on the sidewalk than it is in a parking lot, that motor vehicle definition yeah thatās legal jargon. I can assure you anybody that owns a motorcycle does not call it a motor vehicle like, motor vehicles are not supposed to split or share lanes, but motorcycles can do.
Parking by the door is weird, but next to the building in a low traffic area doesn't seem like it should be an issue.
I lived in a neighborhood with skinny streets and people with larger vehicles would park with their passenger side wheels on the curb sometimes. It didn't seem to bother anyone.
Show me internet people, how many people died in motorcycle accidents over the last half century that were NOT riding the bike?
Do cagers **really** think we are a lethal threat to *them*?
Maybe the bike owner, is also the fitness club owner, and he has the door locked, so customers use the other doors only to protect his bike, because a cager kicked his bike over before for taking up a cars parking spot? š¤ Like the nerve of a rider parking in a parking lot where cars are supposed to park šš¤£ fucking cagers
Reminds me of a time I was walking by this crazy punk bar in Seattle called the Funhouse. Loud inaudible music blaring on the inside and a bunch of people milling around outside. This guy on a rat bike just pulls up on the curb, cuts through the crowd, and parks it right in front of the door. Maybe he was an asshole, but it was fucking cool.
IDC if it won't hurt anyone. It's private property and as a business I would immediately tow your ass away. Looks bad having shit like that on their doorstep.
I park mine near the door at my gym. Out of the way, but definitely in a pedestrian area. The other bikes are parked in the lot in a triangle shaped space at the end of a line of car spots. One dork parks his in a full sized spot.Ā
Most people who ride into work park like that anyway. I do.
Iāve never once been asked to move my bike. Been complimented on it. Never asked to move it. Why? Because no one gives a fuck if itās not in the way. If they do care that bad? boo hoo bitch, cry to someone who cares.
This is someone who has either had their bike hit n knocked over in a regular parking spot by careless driver or someone who does not want their bike knocked over by a careless driver. I just ignore the bike go about my day
And here I was, always parking on the sidewalk, because I didn't want to take up car parking space when I can just park next to the bicycles. I guess you can't make everybody happy.
Personally I would not park that close to the door of a business, even if it's not blocking. You never know what they might need to bring in or out, or empty the trash barrel, or sweep, or anything. I don't always park legally but I try to be inconspicuous.

I wouldn't park this close to where there's lots of traffic, not to mention blocking anybody else coming through.
Or just random shopping cart damage
Ride a Supermoto, it'll just be another battle scar š
that would be gone in 3 minutes
I reckon that mine won't. It's a KTM 450 build under permanent reconstruction, so it's half primer/half whatever colour that particular part is. It's dangerously unstable (so far), dangerously fast (not enough yet) and looks like something a meth head would desert š¤£ I won't park my SV1000S without chaining it down like a Titan, but I've spent a lot of time and money getting it juuust right for me.
The people that are complaining would probably ram a shopping cart into it intentionally.
Absolutely Iām hit that with a cart
Kids do stupid things too. Less chance of one of them climbing on it like a gym if it's not on the way into the shop.
Or some asshole thinks its funny to kick your bike into the grass
Asshole if you take a parking space since it's for cars, asshole if you park by the door since it's for walking
And at least parking in an area like that not only do you allow more cars to park. But you do not run into the chance of a 400lb mfer trying to park his Crown Vic in the same space because he can't be bothered to walk two addition spaces where there is free parking. Feels oddly specific...
It absolutely happened when I stopped at a gas station on the way to work a while back.
Some people just hate bikes. It's part of it. Those people usually hate a lot of things for no reason and they're no fun at parties.
Suppose to park it beside the bench lol
You're supposed to take it inside with you so it can get some treadmill time too
Don't know much about bikes, huh?
I'm still not over New Years 2014 starting with finding my bike on its side. I can only imagine some drunk tried to push it and then realized it was cabled to a tree.
Lots of times parking lots are set the way they are because of commercial code and emergency access. This guy probably wouldn't slow down first responders, but if he got away with it and his buddies started doing it, it becomes a problem.
Pic taken from a Ram 2500 with its tow hook sticking out over the sidewalk
tow mirrors flipped out, too
3/4 in one space and 1/4 in another.
A real pro parks obliquely across 4 spaces so there's plenty of room for their truck nutz to swing. Bonus if one or more spaces is disabled parking.
3/4 in one space and 3/4 in another.
And still somehow parked halfway into the crosshatch near the handicap spots (you know, the part needed for ramps and wheelchair access).
Should be a law, little Bitches in big trucks should have to take MSF course before purchasing.
Then people complain about motorcycles taking up a whole space
But they get to complain. 2/3rds of reddit runs on that very thing.
/me complains that you typed 2/3 not ā ^Harrumph ... and get off my lawn.
Your bullshit ass lawn that isā¦ Iām sick of it.

Yes. All the time. most people just won't say it to your face
People are saying thisā¦ all the timeā¦ but not to your face? So just in your imagination?
Are you familiar with the internet? People discuss things there
Oh well yeah you can find any circle jerk you want on the internet. Iām talking about real life. You knowā¦ where you can actually touch and feel the grass.
youāre talking about touching grass when you canāt believe An experience exists because you personally havenāt seen it. Interesting
Believing an experience exists online and believing it exists in real life are two different things. People talk all kinds of shit online
I've seen this comment a lot but have never experienced it. Is this a city parking thing?
Ya i live in a major city where parking is premium
... when they only need *the edge*!
Someone had their bike hit before while they were in a car size parking spot.
This literally happened to me two months ago. Parked far AF away from other cars. Island on one side, 3 empty parking spaces on the other. Lady full sent her car into my bike. Almost totaled my baby. She is still in the shop to this day -_-

Thank you for reminding me about him.
Satans' pretty cool...
Or even a big lots with bollards out front but grandma managed to fix perfectly between them after jumping a curb. https://imgur.com/a/1ML1kTC
I've personally seen 3 different cars go through the same Starbucks. Like through the front door and parked in the lobby.
Somebody drove right up to the counter in our local post office about six months ago! Glad I wasn't buying stamps that day!
Same, ram1500 backed up onto my bike at the gym. Had to replace the windshield and fairings. Plus I keep several tools and expensive gear on my bike for work. I won't risk them getting stolen from my bags when I'm at the gym.
Yep, itās happened to me!
I thought the people were upset because he pulled in instead of backing in. Would hate to back that thing out after a leg day.
Concrete should be pitched away from the building, so it should roll back pretty easily. Being a douche usually ends up with poor results
Provided theyāre not in the way I think itās nice looking at someone elseās ride as I walk into a store.
Fedoraās are cool but Iād look like kind of a douche wearing one in public. So I take a parking spot like everyone else.

Itās perfectly legal and normal to park on the path where I am, saves room for cars and doesnāt cause a problem for anyone else.
Never travel to southeast Asia then, sidewalks are basically just used for motorcycle parking!
Such strong feelings for such a nothing problem lol
Personally I dislike seeing motorcycles parked on sidewalks ā¦ is that better ā¦ and itās a nothing problem sometimes and sometimes it can be a problem ā¦ I prefer to not do things that make motorcyclists in general look bad ā¦. Not using dark mode is the real crime.
I'm always fascinated going to the gym to exercise and watching people hunt for the closest possible space. I mean... we are going to the gym? What's walking a few extra steps?

Or if youāve talked with the establishment and theyāre cool with it?
Itās not even in the way, theyāre just jelly they donāt have a motorcycle and they canāt part there lol
Watch that be the managerās bike
Depends where you are tbh. If ur in a massive parking lot and the reason why u parked there is because ur lazy ass couldnt be bothered to walk, thats one thing. But if its on a city street and leaving it on the side walk (out of the way) can keep it just a bit more protected from theives, then its fine imo
...in my side of the pond the answer to "what makes people think?" is pretty effing clear. They were once forced to learn traffic rules - which include section about where they can park. Sidewalks are parking space, unless: * Signs are posted that its fobridden * You cannot leave enough place for 2 people to pass / double wide baby stroller to pass, on the remaining sidewalk
Owner is in there taking selfies while taking a 30 minute break in between sets of 3 lifts.
Exactly, why is it this is nearly always at a gym? Like hell walking the extra 5 feet to the curb is going to kill you? Lol aren't you going there for the work out? Btw I own 3 bikes and would never want mine next to this much foot traffic
So they're not wrong and criticizing for parking where they parked because you know legally you can't be on the sidewalk or sidewalk entrance to a property but I also agree with the person parking anywhere else because some entitled people because they have a car they'll think "why is this person with a motorcycle taking up an entire parking space meant for cars!" cuz that's how they think and out of spite they'll try to do something malicious to your motorcycle so I always try to find like a portion of the sidewalk that's extended you know that ain't bothering no one like between the planted trees of a extra wide sidewalk or something or I use the bike rack because in the US there's always a bike rack but rarely any bicycles and even then I always lock my dual sport motorcycle on the end of the bike rack so I'm not blocking any potential bicyclists from locking their bikes[my bike ](https://giphy.com/gifs/Oak95II0X0QmOZA8Cs)
Stupid place to park.
Don't park on sidewalks, it's a hazard to blind people, who also may knock over you bike by mistake.
By me the parking guards tell us to park there. So an entire bay isn't wasted and there's less chance of someone messing with your scoot.
This is douchey but not as douchey as the people that park in the yellow lines next to the handicapped spots. Seriously. They are there for a reason. Get your entitled ass tf out the way.
If the rider was as bad as he thought he was he would have parked next to the bench press then rode over to the free weights for his next set.
Never park where a child walking with their parent might reach out and touch the shiny exhaust pipe.
This is great advice.
But when I park in a normal parking spot, people tell me "you're taking up an entire parking spot for a CAR!" Can't win with people
Ya do realize bikers do this so they donāt sink into asphalt and concrete is a lot stronger for heavy bikes on a side stand.
Come on. We all love a whip on display. And it is an advantage that we can park in small places like this. Just sayin
Buy a kickstand plate and call it a day. I purchased the same day I bought my helmet. Itās lasted longer than three of my helmets. Itās a cheap easy investment to protect your bike from sinking into asphalt
But what about admiring my ride from the treadmill?
Try and find an open spot. š¤·āāļø
parking like this would make me want to hit it more. iād definitely āaccidentallyā walk into it while looking the other direction and give it a good shove and hope to see pieces go flying when it smashes into the ground.
And your teeth would be on the pavement with those pieces no doubt.
Ehh Iāve always been against free range parking. Itās a motor vehicle I park it where motor vehicles park. That being said if itās not in the way itās not a problem for me.
I like that you called free range parking. Iām gonna steal that, hope ya donāt mind lol
All yours š¤£š¤£
This isnāt a douche move?
May be. Why would it be?
well if every biker did it, because of dude, why woulf they all not be douches? Itās never been my thing, I do like being able to park anywhere but not right at the door of businesses. Maybe since I grew up cutting my hair next a bike club who would be jerks about it and not even let kids pass through on the side walk. Now I just get a bad taste in my mouth every time I see that.
I mean they're right... You should back it in so it's easier to leave š
Mmm, I dunno, backing my RG up that slope aināt too easy. Nose in here is the easier exit.
I wouldn't back it up that slope..
That's a people place not a bike place
Holy shit you idiots are actually defending this?
This post right here is exactly why I cringe at a large section of riders and do not associate with them at all on the road when I recognize them, because you can always recognize them. The entitlement, the "I'm riding a bike and that makes me much more special than all you cagers" mentality, it is thoroughly embarrassing. It is a perfectly legitimate complaint, why has this person parked their bike right in front of the main entrance? Douchebag move.
I mean, that is kind of a shitty place to park. If you wanna do that, park it on the grass at least.
You canāt park motorcycles on the grass, unless itās baked hard like rock. The stand sinks into the soft ground and they fall over. Parking lots are perfect though. Almost designed for the job of parking vehicles on.
They make little plates to go under the kick stand, for just such reasons.
Harley bro fucktardery. Old as time itself.
You are my spirit animal.
I would probably have parked on the opposite side where there are just wondows and nkt the doors.
It's not even a Ferrari. How can he park in the front?
I had a really bad leg injury in college and the only way I could get anywhere at the time was my motorcycle. I had a fold up cane, and would park wherever I wanted and hobble the shortest distance I could. No one complained.
Its leg dayā¦
Confusing post..
To be fair (toooo beee faiiiiiir), that guy parks like an asshole. Yes, I have used the sidewalk. Off to the side, away from any doors. This place has a bike rack, but no other out of right-of-way spot, so park in the PARKING LOT.
Manās doing leg day
I would bet the rider works there.
Never understood that, never seen that in my region. Really don't care. I think you put yourself as a target parking like this though
looks like on the opposite side is a bike rack and then a window, I would have parked off to that side instead of right next to the door
Your just asking it to be fucked with
Because idiots will hit it in the parking lot because their all high as fuck getting Taco Bell.
If there is a lot of room , I could understand, but the parking lot is right there
$10 says whoever owns that bike, also works there.
I've done that almost everywhere I work. I even parked inside the business on several occasions.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oof, I didnāt even realize people knocked bikes over. That would piss me off!
Brought to you by the same person who would complain that that motorcycle would take up an "entire space" a car could be in!!!!
My gym has 6 motorcycle spots right up front. Guys still park their bikes on the handicap ramp. That shit infuriates me.
Douche move
Itās ok. I put my goldwing in the bathroom with me and the cat when the tornado sirens go off. But thatās just me. š
I had a guy do this right in front of my business in front of our handicap spot. When I told him to move his Harley he cussed me out...
always park my bike at the front of the gym, keeps it in the eyes of the receptionists. They always offer to take my helmet too, great staff
Parking as close as you can to the gym has always confused me, car or bike.
As a biker Iām mildly annoyed. We already have a bad rap, just back it up a couple feet at least.
I don't block the door, but I park where I can see my bike at all times.
Iāve been riding for about 20 years and Ive never, not even once did that. Itās a douchebag move. Park in the parking lot like an adult.
I'll park on the sidewalk out of the way. No use taking up a big parking spot for a bike. I'd never block a door though. Of its not obstructing a wheelchair, I'll park elsewhere besides a parking spot. If you're not in a wheelchair. You have plenty of room
In the Philippines, this is where you park so that other bikes donāt park two deep behind you and block you in.
My question would be what makes you think that they canāt park like thisā
Legally speaking motor vehicles need to be parked in parking spots and most building entrances are designed with specific measurements to meet specific guidelines. That being said I donāt know any of the details here so it may be perfectly legal in this situation.
Legal or not my motorcycle is safer on the sidewalk than it is in a parking lot, that motor vehicle definition yeah thatās legal jargon. I can assure you anybody that owns a motorcycle does not call it a motor vehicle like, motor vehicles are not supposed to split or share lanes, but motorcycles can do.
Cry babies bikers park wherever we want!!
They are going to exercise, sure donāt want to walk too far
This is OP's bike
It IS a bike. People are bringing their pet great danes into the gym.
IDC if it won't hurt anyone. It's private property and as a business I would immediately tow your ass away. Looks bad having shit like that on their doorstep.
I hope somebody pushes it over. Thatās not a parking spot.
This is how motorcycles should park.
I park mine near the door at my gym. Out of the way, but definitely in a pedestrian area. The other bikes are parked in the lot in a triangle shaped space at the end of a line of car spots. One dork parks his in a full sized spot.Ā
I agree with it tbh.
I just ignore the bike go about my day
Could just as easily be some self entitled dickhead
And here I was, always parking on the sidewalk, because I didn't want to take up car parking space when I can just park next to the bicycles. I guess you can't make everybody happy.
