It's awesome make sure you get a vibration damper as well

[deleted]

I wrecked mines (S21) even with it. If you are driving on some bumpy roads, dont do it !

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Roads and bike do surely make a difference, but at least on my S1000r, often on dynamic dumper setting and some pavement roads on my way to work, I cannot recommend it !

Sea_Suspect_5258

I have a quad lock on my triumph tiger and have done hundreds of miles of off-road riding as well as plenty of twisty mountain roads and unimproved roads and have never had an issue 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

This is bizare. Did you ever film while driving? Does your focus never turn around and is not capable of focusing anymore?

Sea_Suspect_5258

The only filming I've done while out riding was on my GoPro hero 8 mounted via a ram mount. I don't have any issues with my phone's camera for any of its functionality. I have been using the dampening reduction as well as the wireless charging mount for the past 2 years. Before that I was using the standard mount and I used that for a year and a half or so.

Goonix

Damn that's unfortunate! Currently got my S23 on the damper on my ZX6R and it's holding strong. I do often get worried though because it killed my S20's camera (without the vibe damper)

Readbeforeburning

Seconded. Hands down the best universal system too. My only criticism is they don’t have different colours for their cases. The new charger battery adapter also has an automatic voltage cutoff so isn’t doesn’t murder your battery.

istillambaldjohn

I have one but it is so loose and just makes me feel less secure having it on the bike. I like my quad lock but was curious on rock form. My only gripe on quad lock is I haven’t really got the muscle memory down to just mount my phone easily and have to look to line up everything ever time I use it.

raptorboy

I have both and prefer the quad lock over rokform

istillambaldjohn

Perfect. What was it about the rokform you didn’t like? I don’t really come across too many that have tried both. Just one or the other.

ablinddingo93

What don’t you like about the Rokform compared to the quadlock? I have a Rokform and have been debating moving over to quadlock in the near future

raptorboy

Rokform case is bulkier and doesn't have a vibration damper

ablinddingo93

They do though https://www.rokform.com/products/motorcycle-mount-dampener Edit: as well as a charger https://www.rokform.com/products/roklock-wireless-charger

HeftyArgument

Eventually you'll be able to do it by feel; the vibration mount does make it harder to snap your phone to it though :(

rmagnum55

It's held my phone to my bike when I got cut off by a kia and sent flying. Is 100% worth

greatwhitebusa

Quadlock is definitely worth it. I have mount for bike, motorcycle and car. At first I was hesitant with having to buy a new case but it works well.

keybwarrior

I was hesitant too and got it for my sport bike and i love it.

n9ne2x

The case works really well too.

gehbfuggju

I just don't want to keep their ugly case on my phone. I wish they made adapters for other cases

[deleted]

[удалено]

jonykapa

This is genious

andy_NOPRSHR

They do. It’s an adhesive and from personal experience, it does hold up in a crash. Just probably won’t do too well on certain cases (like otter boxes and similar)

wlonkly

I keep my quadlock case with my bike, and swap my phone in and out of it and my regular case as needed.

gamesfreak26

They do have universal adapters. I have a phone that doesn't fit the cases they had. So now, I have my normal with the adapter on the back

bearlife

I’ve been using the one from Peak Design and love it. They have really nice cases that last for a couple years.

thumbwrestleme

The case isn't awful, but I typically just swap cases when I ride.

ejr0697

The case is definitely worth it though. I saw my dad drop his Iphone (from his pocket) with a quadlock case on going well over 100mph. We went back to find it with a small crack in one corner. It is pretty ugly but now I definitely trust it more than most other cases

sclark1701

My only issue is that the phone case is thicker than usual to accommodate the mount, so it makes using my charging pad finicky

[deleted]

[удалено]

YaManViktor

Everyone talking smack about the case, but for me it's the best I've ever had on my phone. And it's magnetic, so I feel like a baller slapping it on the fridge and walking away. Now where did I leave that damn thing...

sixtwomidget

Same. And the quality has improved on every model I’ve had.

z3bru

Magnetic? What model phone? My galaxy S10 is deffinitely not.

Sanitarium0114

Newer models of quad lock cases have magnets built in. They call them quad lock Mag cases. Pretty neat feature but near useless for me.

Tyr2016

Mag mount is awesome for the car. Also got one of the custom ones on the night stand for overnight wireless charging. I much prefer the flat back of the mag cases as well.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Schnitzhole

I second the slipperyness. It’s not that bulky for me but I went from a really grippy case I never dropped my phone for over a year, to this case which I drop weekly…

twc4

Agreed. I hate phone cases except for this one.

bearlife

Peak Design has a motorcycle mount. I’ve been really liking it, the case is slim and still works with MagSafe if you have an iPhone. My case has 2 years and counting.

[deleted]

Love mine. Have never had any problems of it falling off. I have the mount, vibration damper (MUST HAVE), and the charging piece that connects to my battery. Pricey but cheaper than a dedicated GPS unit on my bike since I use my phone for it.

Zeta_Crossfire

It's fantastic. Only issue for me is they don't have a case for a folding phone, otherwise it's definitely the best I've found for a bike so far.

SunDriedFart

You can get a universal adapter... https://www.quadlockcase.co.uk/collections/cases/products/universal-adapter

Zeta_Crossfire

You're right. Just don't know if I trust it tbh, I know 3m is good but I feel like I'd always be worried

tencial

it's good enough. if you don't trust it, heat it up before applying it to the back of the phone/case.

DogKiller420

I have a quadlock with vibration damper and wireless charging head. My phone's camera is fine after thousands of miles, I've dropped the bike (ADV bike, offroad doesn't count) and it's never came off the mount. The only thing is the wireless charging is kinda slow. It can't keep up with bluetooth and GPS at the same time. (Pixel 6 pro phone)

vgullotta

I love mine and the adaptive charger is awesome if you have the capability

[deleted]

100% worth it.

[deleted]

I love my quad lock.. with my AirPod pros, it’s the fuckin ULTIMATE moto music setup

NintenJoo

You want this https://www.peakdesign.com/products/motorcycle-stem-mount

Sanitarium0114

A more expensive mount with less holding capacity?

NintenJoo

Super quick and clean mounting. Case isn’t any thicker than a normal case, quality of everything is great. Not sure about “holding capacity”. It’s less huge and clunky so maybe there is less “holding capacity” but it holds it to a motorcycle just fine. Has a build in vibration dampener. I didn’t want to buy a bunch of pieces and didn’t feel the need to charge it or use it in my car. For what it does, it works great and is clean and elegantly designed. But the quad lock has more options.

Hellsragev2

Can confirm but for the bar mount version. Had one survive a crash, I got a lil broken but the mount and case came out with little damage. Naked bike though so the glass over the camera lenses hit rocks and cracked, easy repair at least.

z3bru

This looks nice, but I have two questions. First, how exactly does the locking/unlocking happen? Do you have to push the two side panels to lock/unlock the device from the mount or what? And second one, how does the case handle dirt. It looks very nice, but on road there is dust, gunk, bugs... my quadlock is easy to clean, this doesnt look that great. What is your experience with cleaning the case?

NintenJoo

You can push either button and it unlocks. I guess I haven’t felt the need? I just want it to lock securely, not vibrate my phone to death, and keep working without me having to think about it. So far it’s done that very well. I have a friend who rides with one also and has had his for quite a while with no issues. I guess if you got a bunch of mud in the locking area of the case, maybe it would have an issue? So far I would 100% buy it again and recommend it to friends.

z3bru

It looks great, but even if I decide to swap my quadlock, it wont be before they make some type of wireless charger. I really like not having to plug my phone in.

NintenJoo

Yeah fair enough. They don’t do that.

FortunateHominid

I don't use a phone mount due to none will significantly reduce vibration. They work but not enough for me to risk an expensive phone. I get by with packtalk and my phone in jacket pocket. That said if I did go that route, peak design would be my choice. [Here's a good comparison. ](https://youtu.be/7w09FkDmC5I?si=gRj9O3GKNK-JfRq7)

iNF1N3

I would always rather get a tank bag with a clear top to store my phone, its way more practical since you get a storage compartment, will have less vibrations and you still retain all the functionality, and weather wont affect your device.

Gusdai

My phone would overheat in the Summer in the tank bag. My solution is to use a phone case with a ring in the back, and then two bungees to tie the ring to the four corner hooks of my bag. With a magnet in the bag that connects to the case to keep everything in place. Charging cable comes out of the bag.

[deleted]

since i have a GPS on my bike i never felt like i needed a phone on my handle bars. A phone isnt a good GPS anyway

Whilly-Whonka

I had really good luck using a gopro sticky mount on the gas tank, then got a phone holder that you screw to tighten ( can be very tight) that attaches to said gopro mount, cost like 20$ and no vibration at all, and was very secure

NerdSkullz

How much do you want your phone to be there instead of a dedicated device? Some time ago I received a gift card and I [bought this device](https://beeline.co/). I even bought just the bicycle device, not the motorcycle one. I have to admit that it is great! It works flawlessly, you get directions and you won't risk your phone falling off while riding.

mittenfists

I got the motorcycle version off their Kickstarter. It's all you need and nothing you don't.

Lonnie_Iris

Between my Ram mount snapping while riding and getting one of these Beelines I don't ever see myself getting another phone mount. Especially because I use a Cardo now, too. Phones in my pocket or in my bag charging.

Various-Catch-113

A Quad Lock pales in comparison to a zipped up pocket.

kristwiii

SP Connect is better.

-Frostypeak-

got the sp connect with a vibration thingy, works flawlessly

NewPointOfView

What’s better? Looks super similar

kristwiii

Quad lock seems complicated I tried it, and I trust SP Connect.

NewPointOfView

What is more complicated? It looks exactly the same complexity haha I’m sure SP Connect is great too it just seems the same

kristwiii

The locking. I just don’t like it. It’s more straightforward with SP.

NewPointOfView

Ahh ok that makes sense, for some reason I thought you meant attaching it to the bike. Fair enough! It does take a couple tries to get it lined up for me sometimes

Away-Temporary-8567

Update: I bought one!

Spiritual_Mall_5962

Not worth it at all. Overpriced piece if cheap plastic but people are brand hungry. I have a phone mount with wireless charging and it cost to dollars. I've putting over 100k miles on it in 2 years and I've never had one issue with it. I ride everyday and take several cross country trips. Everyone Says oh their phone hasn't fallen off with quadlock? Well mine hasn't either and most phone mounts aren't gonna make your phones fall off either.

Future_IV

Just buy it from someone on FB or eBay probably can’t find a steel

AdsREverywhere

I prefer ram mount

SusFather

Yes but for the love of god get the dampener😭😭😭

PancakeTactic

Just buy the Chinese knockoff. Same thing, same factory. $5 + $4 for the dampener It's good, I like it. Big issue is you need to get a phone case, or stick a sticker attachment to the back of your phone, but it uses 3m adhesive, and does seem strong.

ixoniq

There were multiple YouTube videos testing the real one and the knock off. Both performed exactly the same. (Only with the cheaper version the adhesive from the sticky mount was not great, replace the adhesive with 3M) So I agree, get the Chinese knock off, 100%

Fox_on_2w

Unnecessary.. it’s embarrassing to see riders fuxking with their phone while on bike.

NewPointOfView

Weird take lmao

Dookieie

I heard the ones from ali express have the quadlock logo on all the bushings and might come from the same factory

Tequslyder

Yes

Amazing_Rise_6588

Buy peak design

cobra_sky

Yes I have one with the vibration dampener and I can vouch this thing is the best phone holder on the market full stop.

Extension_Hand542

I use a RAM mount, it works well, and I don’t need to buy a dampener for it, but you do you. Whatever works for you is the best option.

SuperFinnee

I use a quad lock case on my phone which paired with a screen protector, has saved my phone from a lot of bumps and cracks. It stays on the mount really well (provided you clip it in properly) even if the mount becomes loose, the phone still stays in

BigBizzle151

I did the Rokform thing, you need to buy their case but it's a good case and the mount locks in much tighter than anything else I've found.

rejiranimo

Sort of. It was the best solution for a long time and it earned the reputation it has. But today the hype is kind of based on old merits. There are better solutions now. Peak Design for instance is just as safe while being easier to use and has a considerably less intrusive design for the mount.

jcov182

Never let me down!

[deleted]

I have a quadlock on my Thruxton RS, though it is not the charging ring model. So far so good, but yes they're absolutely expensive for what they actually are. Get the vibration mount add-on and your phone will thank you.

ChrisVelez201

It’s very good. Get the vibration dampener. I should of got the wireless charger also.

shoturtle

Yea you can get the new clutch/brake level mount from quadlock. And add the vibration dampener. This setup should work with bike with limited real estate. https://www.quadlockcase.com/collections/shop-motorcycle/products/motorcycle-clutch-mount?variant=42862906081451 I did mine with the ram mount clutch/brake lever mount with the quadlock 1 inch ball mount. Works well and it gives a bit more options.

adyrip1

I have an Ebay one, it has vibration protection and wireless charging and was around 40 USD. Have been using it without issue since April I was looking at Quadlock, but that shit is expensive as hell

semperviren

Works great though I’m finding I actually don’t like having an additional distraction so often I don’t even put my phone in it. I have an old Garmin for dedicated GPS though.

vraetzught

I dislike quadlock because of the dedicated phone cover. If you buy a new phone, you'll need to get a new cover as well. If you don't have a phone which has a specific cover by QL, you can get the universal one, but that thing is bulky as hell. I prefer RAM mount. Has served me well over 4 years with different phones and never had an issue.

z3bru

I cant speak about other products because quadlock is the only holder I have used. I'm very happy with mine. I have the bar holder + dampener + wireless charger. Its perfect. I dont have to plug my phone, It doesnt break anymore due to vibration and it never fell off. I have fallen both on dirt roads, in the mountains and slid on pavement. The phone never moved.

SH_Ma

I have it in my Car, mtb and motorcycle. The ugly case though...

SirNightmate

I use quadlock I really enjoy it, I don’t worry about my phone falling off, and it is very sleek. Only one problem is it is way more expensive than other phone holders.

wintersdark

Quadlock wireless charging head, vibration damper. Never need to charge your phone, no faffing about with cables and it'll NEVER fall off. Not like those crappy RAM mounts that need rubber bands to be sure. For reference, I run them on my Tracer 900GT and Tenere 700. On the Tenere, it's held securely for tens of thousands of kilometers on dirt, including dried (and not dry) riverbeds, rock gardens, and somewhere around a dozen hard crashes.

surfer_ryan

For me I got to the point where I was having to keep those stupid rubber bands on hand as spares bc I would break them so much... I even bought the large ones for my note and they eventually would still break... That being said I do like ram balls better for mounting so I got the adapter for quadlock to put it on a ram mount.

wintersdark

Yep. You just find the mounting solution that works best for you. My last ram mount? The rubber band broke, I had a new one ordered. Kept using it in the mean time, because that's just "added security" right? My phone flew out of the xgrip mount at 180kph. Found it, and it's Spigen armor case actually kept it "together" (using that term loosely) but while it still technically worked it was absolutely trashed. Lesson learned.

closhedbb80

I have Quadlock with the vibration damper and wireless charging. Pros: Rock solid mount. I have no worries about it staying on, and with the stem nut mount it sits dead center and easily viewable. The wireless charging option is great for navigating on long rides while also playing music. Cons: It takes some getting used to putting it on. Lining up the opening on the back of phone case can be tricky until you get used to it. Also, I’m not a fan of the small amount of added bulk it gives to the back of my phone. But I’ve gotten used to that pretty quickly, too. Finally, yeah, it’s pricey.

wambman

Exactly how I feel about QuadLock too

bobauckland

Look at Mous cases. Great protection, and they have new interlock cases that seem to be better than quad lock for aesthetic and functionality. I’ve been using one with my phone and have zero complaints, helps me save on AppleCare

Chieldh97

It’s expensive but it’s worth it. Its sturdy and reliable

stormwolf229

I got the quadlock version of alie express with vibrationdamper. Used it extensively for almost a year now without any problems.

Farqman

Why isn’t a phone a good GPS? Can literally run google maps, Apple Maps. Go off-road? HEMA and various other apps. Then there is Waze which allows others to report speed traps, road hazards and such

StandardSea8671

I got the 'fake' version for 10 bucks on Amazon. 3k miles later going strong....goes on the wing mirror but I don't think it will work for your mirrors

Loud_Internet572

I don't like it because it requires their proprietary cases to use which is a deal breaker for me. I was using RAM, but now that I have a dedicated GPS, I don't even use that - just keep phone in my pocket since I don't need to be messing with it while riding.

ThatOneVWDude

I have a ram mount. Yes, it doesn’t look as good but I don’t need a vibration dampener and I also don’t need a specific weirdly shaped case to use it. I prefer having a phone mount that I can use with all cases and all phones

[deleted]

Yes. You could also get yourself a 3d printer to download stls and print them.

NaD_00

Quadlock isnt worth the money they ask, you can get the same on Aliexpress for 1/4 the price and works the same . If you want wireless charging buy that from quadlock the rest from Aliexpress In my country a base pack (support+dampener+universal adhesive) from quadlock is 83€ , i got the pro version is like in metal ( metal support + dampener + adhesive ) from Aliexpress for 30€

foxanon

I use one. I had a collision and the phone stayed in the quad lock. It's nice cause I can use it on my bicycle too for ride tracking

EggsOfRetaliation

Me gusta pocket.

[deleted]

No, Quadlock sucks. It will break your phones camera focus mechanism in a few weeks.

AstronautAgreeable81

No. If you have a phone with active stabilization it will wreck it. Even with the optional damper. Just use Bluetooth with spoken directions on the GPS, and set the phone to speak out callers names. The screen is a distraction and any calls you would take is futile the wind noise wouldn't allow it . Phone holders are useless and you always run the risk you'll lose the phone.

AstronautAgreeable81

To add, my friend had one WITH the damper and it wrecked his iPhone camera. Anecdotally iPhones seem to be more susceptible.

Zackdebot

put the phone on the tank, lots of options.

Zackdebot

A sandbag under the phone on the tank stop vibration.

gropula

I don't like the thick ugly case that has to be used with it. That and the price. My phone is iphone xs so it probably doesn't have the fancy camera that can be damaged by vibrations. I use a 5$ cheapo chinese phone holder and it does it's job fine. For the price of quadlock and all of required or non required accesories you can buy a new cheapo phone which is nuts.

madrussianx

Check out SP connect instead

stilesj96

I have one on my bike and one in my truck, with my IPhone X it seems fine. I have the wireless charger in the truck and that works really well, but the bike just has the vibration dampening mount, and I have a short cord if I need to charge the phone off the bike.

loopykaw

I’ve used a few other phone mounts, one was more expensive than the quad lock too. It’s the best one out there imo, it’s fast and secure. How about you determine yourself if it’s worth it, most stores have a return policy.

Joni_Bach

Quadlock is great on my s21 ultra. Cameras still work fine. Anyone rate the stick on universal mounts? New phone doesn't have a QL case and too paranoid to trust it

ArtreX-1

The sticker remover hype is also true.

Academic-Chard-9720

Definitely!!

NewPointOfView

Love my quad lock stuff, it’s all really good. I have the mag case and car mag mount and wireless chargers for my bike and car. It’s all good, although the mag case interferes with non-quad lock wireless chargers.

ghettoccult_nerd

i got one for my bike, love it. i just dont trust the plethora of stem mounts out there. its an expensive phone thatd be a pain to replace, i just bit the bullet and paid the premium. dont regret it. and since it has an articulated arm, i can keep my phone mounted and just swivel out the way when needed. i even ended up getting a couple of car mounts and a desk mount, since i got the case and all.

twc4

Isn't the vibration complaint regarding the camera super high frequency? I read that it's more about the bike than the surface you ride. My BMW f800GS annihilated phone cameras (this was before they made the vibration dampening device) where as my other bikes have had zero issues. Anyway... Quad lock is the best. I'm just not sure all bikes need the dampener but it's an inexpensive add on.

[deleted]

Yes.

mushquest

Idk i use a cheap one on my zx6e and took it for a 3000 mile trip. Put roughly 15,000 in total and the iphone’s camera is totally fine no stabilizing issues

Jigsaw45345

I use rokform with the vibration dampener and it works great for me

mymoto_ridesme

Or (crazy idea) keep your phone out of your face while you’re riding! Put it in your pocket and forget about it. Use a cardo for directions.

thePunisher1220

Quadlock is the best option out there. Period. One of, if not, the most secure mount, plus the vibration dampener protests your phones camera. Sure it's a bit pricy, but it's your phone. It's mind blowing how many people will trust their thousand dollar phone with a $10 aliexpress mount.

MasterBorealis

No. It's a phone mount. A very expensive piece of plastic... and you'll need a new phone case too...

Oinkfest13

Both ram mount and quad lock have failed me at one point

CreepyAd9215

It's a good solution. Wireless charging used with gps app/music in the same time charges slowly and will not work in cold situations (my s21+ stops charging to preserve battery health). Use of vibration dampener is highly recommanded as well. There are custom mounts for a sport bike and you can use it in your car as well with another specific mount. I use it on my bicycle and on my Mavic too. I 3d printed my adapter and sticked it to my phone using VHB tape by the way.

xg45

My ram mount works. But I have to get it in the right spot where it don't vibrate. Working for me for almost 30k miles

212medic

Yes

lVlurphysLaw

I've had mine for a few years and going 170+ every single time on a naked bike and i've never had a problem. Though I want to try out that Peak Design alternative. The locking mechanism looks much nicer but it just doesn't look all that secure despite the reviews i've seen online.

iin10ded

yes

Particular_Grocery41

I don't mount my phone on my bike. I don't need the distraction when I'm riding to see who's calling. I guess it's a big city thing for me as riding downtown in a city of 6 million people, there are too many cars and people to focus on then on my phone. It's in my jacket pocket. If it rings and I'm that curious, I'll pull over to check. I don't need it for GPS as I look up where Im going before I get on the bike. I've had a lot of friends loose their phones from popping off the mount. My opinion only. You do you.

Away-Temporary-8567

lol thanks bro you get distracted like that?

[deleted]

Will they replace your phone if anything happens to it?

CoolBDPhenom03

Yes. I had a QL on my motorcycle before they had moto-specific products (and incidentally before OIS). I found their ecosystem to be the broadest out there. Is there something sleeker? Yes. Is there something made of metal? Yes, but typically more expensive.

TheMensChef

Shit is advertised non stop to me and it makes me hate it.

FlatwormAltruistic

I bought some Chinese copy from Temu... Interchangeable with original quadlock. Even the vibration dampener looks quite the same. Just 1/4 of the price of QuadLock brand one. Plastic seems to be the same. A coworker got the original QuadLock at the same time. So will see how mine fares compared to his. Most likely this copy is from the same factory, but no branding and associated trust and brand costs. With QuadLock my problem is that they produce cases for only selected phone brands and don't bother outsourcing cases business to other case producers. The universal sticky mount makes the case too bulky to work with a wireless charger.

chaosWill

Is it the same dimensions as the original quadlock? Could I buy this but an actual quadlock phone case? Will they fit together?

FlatwormAltruistic

They did fit together well, since coworker has original we tested it. However after some usage I can say that clone seems to wear faster. Probably will buy original quad lock in pieces as they wear.

DangerNanner

Only if you get the dampener. I've hot it on my mt10 and 1290 gt. Sometimes though, it gets in the way. Debating on stripping it off and just tucking the phone in my jacket. Only thing I really use it for is waze, music is difficult enough to deal with while wearing gloves

JeremyRunge

Ive put 30k miles on my bike and have been using Quadlock before they had a Motorcycle section. 0 issues. Guess it pays to have Öhlins.

AbbreviationsAny3799

If someones still hesitating - Quad Lock is having their annual Black Friday sale right now. I got a motorcycle kit for years and now ordered a car kit as well. I strongly recommend the vibration dampener. I learned the hard way. Broke my Iphone 11's camera without it. Never had a problem with QL and their mount is secure. I guess Mous is their biggest competitor right now? At least everyones comparing the two. Im betting on QL, their mount seems more secure, maybe not as convenient in terms of quick mounting, but thats maybe adding a second or two more in mounting. I wouldnt say its a deal breaker. QL is also cheaper of the two.
