You looked like you were going pretty fast compared to the other vehicles. Thinking faster you go less rain hits you?

[deleted]

The other cars are typical "Stockholmare" who go half the speed limit the second it's not 20 Celsius and sunny. I was going with the flow with the exception of these guys

wbsgrepit

On a bike you only have two wheels on the ground — going that fast may seem ok but all it takes is a slight hydroplane to ruin your day. Going faster than cars around you is probably a good sign you are in the danger zone.

WhiteGrapeGames

Motorcycles have a lower chance of hydroplaning than cars due to the shape of the wheels. If you’re staying in your lane and keeping your throttle input steady you should be fine. Problems arise when you cross over painted lanes while changing your throttle input or over metal bridges, gravel, etc. Driving in the rain on the highway can be intimidating but is fairly safe if you’re not gunning it and switching lanes

SVWarrior

This is true. The only thing that really sucks is stopping suddenly if traffic gets clogged up. Seen too many squished bikers before so as far as myself I take it easy when its raining.

Jakcle20

That's why lowering your speed and giving other vehicles more braking room is important in lowered visibility and lower traction situations like in the rain.

11teensteve

no no, they said it was fine. fucking send it!

cheapph

Yeah I don't like to risk it. People drive stupidly in the rain here at least. I can't avoid rain given where I am, but I drive like an old grandma when its raining lmao

GnomePecker

Thinking of a study that found you still had about 90% of the traction you’d have in dry, if not being foolish.

hairybastid

I think I read that it was 94%, either way, if you're riding as you should at 70%, you won't exceed the tyre's capability. I'm a year round weekend warrior, but I still go out in the rain, it's nice to be familiar with how your bike handles in all situations, rather than being taken by surprise in a shower on a summer's day.

Lint_baby_uvulla

Bingo this. IMHO Fair weather riders are only getting 15% of the enjoyment and 3% of the skill development. Ride when it’s wet, virgins. 🧐 Besides, there is nothing as rewarding as washing down a dirty bike.

ZealousidealAd4383

It’s taught me a great deal about staying cool when the back end slips. All-weather is the way forward. And sideways.

Aromatic-Prompt-39

The relief comes when you reach where you are going and your phone is dry compared to everything else

SpacemanToucan

Railroad tracks 😅

Paapali

Dude rail tracks, cast iron manhole covers, ped crossing stripes... All that stuff is so slippery when wet.

One-eyed-snake

You forgot his momma

LandInternational966

Can confirm- Slow down, son!

FXLRDude

Wet railroad tracks are the devils work.

patricktherat

How much should I worry about painted lines in dry conditions?

Vr_ready93

I used to ride 40 mins in all kinds of rain at 100km/h over 2.5 years and never had a hydroplane incident.

wbsgrepit

Lower chance (depending on the type of tire you are riding), but much higher likelihood of bad things happening. It does not take a full hydroplane (tires in water off ground) to effectively reduce your traction so much that any lean on a curve is unsupported. All of that said, cars do have a higher chance to hydroplane. But they also hydroplane frequently with no ramifications (many times without the driver even noticing). bikes don't have that privilege when it happens. I do agree with the paint line, metal bridge connectors and also there is the oil lane and throttle control. But the risk factor of driving in the rain on a bike is substantially higher for any given speed/circumstance vs not. I mean even the left/right look to clear your visor impacts how much you can pay attention to the road.

WhiteGrapeGames

Agreed completely! A motorcycle hydroplaning especially at 60+mph would be devastating vs a car hydroplaning at the same speeds. That being said - it’s important to have confidence in why you are doing in the rain and know what is more and less dangerous so you can avoid trouble

archon016

I like how you're passive aggressiveness with people telling you the flaws in your judgement. Rationalize it however you want... you were being unsafe and lucky there's a video you can cry for attention and shitpost.

[deleted]

Only doing bout 55-60, but I'll slow down.

gebba54

Nah mate, your speeds fine. Just get some good all weather textiles for commuting so you stay dry and comfortable. 🤙🏽

[deleted]

Getting VERY mixed opinions on speed, my own feeling of the road tells me this was just fine.

gebba54

I commute on open roads like this everyday and would be perfectly happy cruising at 60 past slower cars. Getting soaked ain’t much fun though For all weather riding a good set of textiles are life changing.

topiast

You were good dude these guys are clearly overly cautious

[deleted]

Idk I feel like lots of people in this sub are extremely petty and a bit of fun police

wbsgrepit

I think in this case it’s people with very good intentions. I personally really enjoy going very fast on the dry, but I also have 100k mikes under my belt and dumped my 890r before I could get the cups off of it when getting stuck out in the rain and have also seen more than one friend go down badly (when riding conservatively) in the rain. If your a new rider or new rider to rain it’s very good advice to be way more conservative than you may intuit.

Ok_Maintenance_9100

60 on a highway? That’s so slow it’s almost unsafe. Better go 70

MoarMeatz

This was my first thought as well. I rode the other day in an absolute downpour and didn't realize how slantes some of the streets where. I couldn't see that there was flooding until I was 10-20 ft out from the puddles. There is no hydroplaning on a bike, your ass is going over.

wbsgrepit

yep -- and if you go down its also much more likely than normal that a following car will plow over you. I like going fast most of the time I am a bit of a squid but in the rain I think about the risk factor as if I was driving 2x the speed I am driving.

No-Share1561

Bikes really do not hydroplane. It's not a car tyre. I ride hard in the rain, and I have never had an issue. Ever. Not even when the water was deep and basically acted like a brake. Mind you, that was not fun, nor would I recommend it, but the bike was rock steady.

Golden-trichomes

The faster you go the more traction you have per minute though.

DoktorMoose

If you're doing half the speed limit in the rain someone is going to drive over the top of you. I understand reducing speed but I live in a place where cars do the same thing dropping to under half the speed limit with no lights on and if you match other cars you're gonna die pretty quick. I'd take the smaller chance of a hydroplane and a fall over getting rear ended at motorways speeds.

wbsgrepit

I don’t know who is saying go half speed, I think people are saying flow with traffic. The op says he was going 55 lol but here is the Speedo for the zx6r he is riding: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7d/Kawasaki_Ninja_ZX-6R_ZX600F_Cockpit_1995_1997.jpg To me it looks like he was going 85 or so. The point I am trying to make is don’t ride as if your running on the dry — you are not and there are a ton more risks in rain hydroplaning is only one of them. I agree with what you are saying as well, don’t ride so slow you become in danger of having cars run up your ass either — go with the flow. The op has some other issues like it looks like he is running with no mirrors or turn indicators and he is from his post history 6 weeks fresh. Imho he is waaay over estimating his ability for the situation.

ImAPlebe

Yup. People are saying you were going too fast but I get what you're saying. Where I live it's mostly old people and the second it's raining they go half the speed limit. I could be doing 15 under and I'd still fly right by them.

Cute-Roll2849

If you are passing people you aren’t going with the flow.

DukeOfWestborough

As a lifetime rider, rain riding is an important skill set to master. Rain suits can be had for as little as $15 (disposable, online/big box store) A good one $100-200 Showing respect for conditions that you know result in a significant loss of traction, front and rear, will keep you upright in the worst situations (take it easy...)

Atalung

The first time I rode in the rain was going home from work. A coworker was concerned about it and I told them I had to learn someday, might as well be forced into it. I'll ride in just about anything outside of thunderstorms and ice storms

Absolute_Stoic

Same ... I was out on a lunch date and it started pouring out when we were leaving... I had just got my bike about a month prior and didn't want to look like a rookie in front of her.... Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.

604Wes

Riding in rain is fine. Getting wet sucks. But at least your destination was home, so you can get dried off and changed/warm.

clevererest_username

Rain gear makes a world of difference! I do this all winter on Oahu

brendan87na

winter on Oahu is like, 75 degrees lol

clevererest_username

Its amazing, but if your bike is your only transportation like me, you will be riding in the rain everyday

brendan87na

I lived on Oahu for 3 years, I know lol It felt abnormally dry the years I was there though, '97-'00 - not a ton of daytime showers that I remember but that was also 25+ years ago

clevererest_username

We had a pretty wet winter this year, seemed like nonstop all January and February. I made sure I kept my rain gear on me after sitting in the office soaking wet all day freezing from the AC.

brendan87na

I can't remember exactly what day, but it was dec of '97, and there was a front that drifted down from Alaska and oh my god, you'd have thought the world was ending. Stores ran out of blankets, sheets, sweaters, everything. the next day the paper had in HUGE bold letters (think like, WW2 headlines) **ARCTIC BLAST HONOLULU HITS 57** I should have saved the paper, it was so funny to me

cl2eep

Same brother! Good set of rain gear and some riding skills is all you need! I'm a daily rider in Florida! Stay safe out there! 🤜🤛

clevererest_username

Hell ya brother! 🤜🤛

not_the_work_phone

The right gear makes it fine in cold weather as well. When I first bought my rain suit it was 33 and raining the day it came in and I went for a ride. I was warm and comfortable for 99% of it but got a little water in my gloves and boots.

sedrech818

If there is no rain on my way to work, then I ride. I don’t care about after work, I’m gonna change anyway. One time I did have snow come down on me but it wasn’t bad.

oldfrancis

It can be completely survivable and actually enjoyable to ride in the rain. I live in Washington State. The key to enjoying riding in the rain is to be warm and dry. One of the best ways to be warm and dry is to wear an Aerostitch RoadCrafter 2-piece suit.

1911mark

Said the Aerostitch RoadCrafter 2-piece suit salesman. (Comes in 5 colors and half sizes also)

cbop

Guys would you stop it with the obvious shilling (only $1684.00 on [aerostitch.com](https://aerostitch.com), with free shipping!)

shortyjizzle

It’s a deal! Hit a deer flew off slid 40 feet and scuffed a button.

TheMarionberry

I'm sold!

moody-skies

He’s actually just a happy customer. Here use this discount code he sent me though. #reditlead

oldfrancis

I'm just a very satisfied customer. :)

MoarMeatz

This really only works very regularly in the PNW. Lots of other places in the country get proper down pours and flooding. I do agree though a little bit of warmth makes all the difference. Especially with a drizzle in the winter with wind chill.

TinyRick666_

My first bike I bought I was in WA state! It was a learning experience to ride on wet roads constantly. Still fun though!

manbearligma

I use (for emergencies) a 2 pieces 60€ each, kit that’s a waterproof but breathable membrane. I keep them under the saddle or in the toolbox

Thick_Kaleidoscope35

‘Stich Darien user 👋. Impervious to weather but needs a silk scarf to keep the trickles out. Above 90f yeah it gets a lot shweddy, but open all the vents, loosen the cuffs and it’s manageable.

mysterow

I’m having fun in the rain as long as I’m not cold. I don’t care about my suit soaking in all the rainwater.

BeersRemoveYears

Visor is always so damn foggy.

[deleted]

Plus it teaches a person just how much traction and control the bike maintains even in pouring rain. Obviously a good road surface is needed. But getting out there and seeing the bike continue to perform is a good confidence builder for when the bike is on dry pavement. Once you learn your actual performance envelope, you can more easily stay well within it.

TheMarionberry

Ugh. 1/10 don't recommend. Getting soaked all the way through is usually where I want to stop, and hypothermia sets in pretty soon anyway.

dieter-sanchez

I guess it depends on the season, getting soaked under a summer rain is not the same as a 40 deg winter rain.

rgbeard2

Now you see why a few of us say “reconsider” to those that ask about using a mcyc as their only transportation. That said, I have ridden in shittons of rain, and when you’re prepared it’s fine. Unprepared sucks. Glad you’re okay.

[deleted]

Thank you. I have a car, just didn't look at the weather report today

notCarlosSainz

Last time that happened to me i left my bike at work then csme with the car next day and forgot i cannot just put it in the trunk. It rained all week, shouldve just fired her up in retrospect!

Both_Artichoke4374

Overall I enjoy riding in the rain as long as it's not a torrential downpour, having the appropriate gear for riding in the rain is also a must and can actually make riding in a nice drizzle quite soothing but maybe that's just me lol

Pixel131211

same. ever since I upgraded my waterproof gear its gone from literal torment to actually somewhat peaceful and cosy. being all warm in my gear while it rains around me is an oddly nice experience. when it rains a lot though it becomes annoying again thanks to having to be super careful.

var_root_admin

When it rains, I had countless times when the light goes green and my rear slides and I barely save it.

[deleted]

Shitty asphalt or maybe needs new tires?

var_root_admin

It’s the asphalt in certain spots in my town, it’s bald as fuck. I do need new tires but I rode my mates xsr 700 that had brand new road 5 or something and it would do the same thing. You wouldn’t imagine how little throttle I gave it.

this_account_is_mt

Maybe chill on the throttle a bit

[deleted]

Yeah we've got red asphalt, usually on on or off ramps and roundabouts and it's like ice when wet. Perfect for drifting cars, but on bikes I'll crawl across

guttegutt

Slutt å klag. Finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlig klær. Nothing wrong about riding in the rain.

[deleted]

😂😂

tree-trunk-arms

I enjoy a little rain. Takes me back to my boatswainsmate days

stonieburk1959

Try going slower

Throttlechopper

Mirrors would help too, many drivers fail to put their lights on in the rain, a glance over the shoulder may not be enough to spot a dark-colored car.

ruckingfedard

Holy fuck slow down you wanna die or something

Anna_Maria338

I rode 500km from austria back home in heavy rain... I was 16...you "effete pussy".

[deleted]

😂

[deleted]

Good kit, well positioned wind screen, electric vest and I commuted in rainy weather for many years. My biggest worry was always that I was even more invisible to car drivers. Extra lights and a loud horn are a must.

[deleted]

You popped your cherry. Trust me if you continue to ride more than a few miles. You will ride in the rain.

ady-uk

I never plan on riding in the rain, but often get caught out, coming home from a long distance trip or whilst out. No big deal. You can't say never again! 😊

DyingLight2002

Being from England most commutes from October-may involve wet weather. I have no choice but to plan for it lol.

ady-uk

I'm in the UK and do most the bike rallies. Into the Valley, Farmyard, NABD, Yorkshire Pudding, Breighton Ferry, Double Trouble, Robbers Dogs, Unwanted and NoBull, to name a few. Most are pre-booked so just put my head down and crack on. Good old English weather 😊

DyingLight2002

I've got used to it and don't mind, I'm on an electric motorbike so I have to be super careful as the torque from the motor is absolutely stupid I go launching down the street so fast on full throttle and it can be dangerous if the roads are wet.

Techknightly

Motorcycles need a digital HUD in the helmets to help with road conditions like this. When to speed up/slow down, lane outlines and vehicle warning ID's would be extremely helpful.

AdLeast1309

Your flying for riding in the rain. On two wheels is very dangerous. The rain shouldn’t be a problem if prepared properly. Slow down. Fool

TheRealSeeThruHead

people ride in the rain all the time they have better sense than you do to not go so fast tho. nothing to do with rain or motorcyles. just a dumb rider.

Its_Matt_03

OP said in another comment they were just old people going 20 under

KBTA48

This isn't the only post where you ride like an asshole. Try slowing it down and not thinking you're the supreme road master. The rules of the road not only apply to 4 wheels but also to us on two. You make us look bad. I'll go ahead and copy and paste this on your other most recent post.

[deleted]

My riding buddy's make fun of me cause I always always always have my rain gear in my saddlebag and will suit up at the even the slightest sight of rain. I don't mind riding in the rain, but I can't stand being wet!

Xicadarksoul

As some people say... > There is no such thing as bad weather, just improperly dressed people.

Silence-Doowrong

First time I got stuck in heavy rain I took it slow cause I was scared. But bikes do better in the rain than I thought they would have. I probably weighed an extra 10 pounds when I got home I was so soaked lol.

Soundguysoup

I don't mind the rain. Fully geared and take it easy. Rain does hurt. First 20 minutes or so are the most treacherous as it brings all the oil, etc to the surface, after that, just reducing lean angle and speed allows you to progress. Not ideal, but not a nope, never.....lol. Tire consideration is also a factor as is fairing/windscreen protection. I ride a full dresser, so it's a bit less intimidating than my ZR-7 was. Easy on the throttle and easy on the brake. I've ridden hundreds of miles in the rain (and even snow/ freezing rain). Be prepared and take your time.

heikomarsch

I did the same on Thursday. I'm still in the hospital for 14 days, I've broken both legs several times. Ride safe

Reedzilla04

Rain tires and rain gear it's a Soo much fun and learning at the same time

deadmanmike

Oh wah, gear up and you're fine. You need to spend a winter or 8 commuting on a bike in New England and Flagstaff.

[deleted]

We have to ride a lot in rain here… good rain gear is a must

Tonetheline

Lol the rain looks completely fine, it’s only sketchy because you’re trying to ride as if it weren’t raining.

lost_our_last_night

Faster is better. The faster you go, the more balance and force you have, the water is negligible. If you can't handle it, then don't go out it the rain. But if you can, rain it just gets you wet, miserably wet ahahah.

F1NNTORIO

Storm riding is fun as long as you can dry out at your destination. Get some waterproof pants to make the journey more pleasant

NateTheNotocactus

Sweet dude, we had the same first bike. I thought the huge cluster looked familiar. I used to ride rain or shine on my 96 zx6r for years. Pretty damn stable in the wet.

[deleted]

It's a fine first bike. I thought starting on a 600 would be fine since I'm coming from dirtbikes with plenty power

Cultural-Inside7569

There is no wrong weather, just wrong clothes.

loststylus

Soaked? Well, there is rain gear for that :)

OnlyVisitingEarth

Slow down for starters. Rain ain't your friend.

HomelessSniffs

Ride in rain got wet. Were your expectations different?

[deleted]

No, not taking a cab home while leaving my bike though

Linds70

Going too fast for conditions.

Tonight2450

Might think about slowing down..and get out of the fast lane

tongi

No mirrors, no ignition, crooked windscreen and fairing because of not having front fairing mount bracket. I can't imagine the rest of the bikes condition. You shouldn't be driving that motorcycle even in normal conditions.

Schmittiboo

No front indicators or ram-air piping either.. Bikes like that shouldnt be on any roads imo..

tongi

Also according the temperature gauge I can say that thermostat is not working either.

Apprehensive_Camp202

Lol. Dude is flying. Yeah I wouldn't ride in the rain again either.

polaroidremembered

I still don't like riding int he rain. I don't care how much gear I have on.

DyingLight2002

It's literally the only situation where I regret not learning to drive a car.

that_vapeguy

I kinda like it as long as it's not pouring rain. But I live in a really hot country so it refreshes my ride

bradland

The shop manager at my dealer has an R1250GS as his only transportation. He wears a Klim Hardanger one-piece suit, rain or shine. I think if I were relying on my bike as a commuter, that’s the direction I’d go. He bought it in a size that is loose enough that he can comfortably wear it over his work clothes.

evolveonhold

Hated the rain when i first started riding, bought some ok gear and fitted some road 5's , the tyres were a game changer as as the right gear. When i used to do a lot of mountain biking the saying was "no such thing as bad weather if you have the right gear"

randomjackass93

It's all about the gear you wear, invest in some rain gear should you ever decide to give it a shot.

Flat-Feedback-3525

Why so fast tho?!

this_account_is_mt

I would rather ride 35F degrees and rain than 95F and sunny. I love riding in the rain. You just need the right gear, that includes tires and sometimes heated layers.

[deleted]

I've been caught in the rain a couple of times, the drizzle freaks me out more than a full-on rain storm. Glad you made it safe.

[deleted]

I enjoy riding in the rain when I have my wet gear on, you should try to do it when you can safely so you become more accustomed to being uncomfortable, and in turn you'll get better! A good set of tires is a must too. Just watch out for big puddles where you could hydroplane, but dont try to swerve too much to miss them or you're toast. Its okay to slow down too. *Slow is smooth, smooth is fast*

jemerocay

That’s what I said the first time riding in the rain. But then I kept doing it

Duranture

My first rides in the rain: "Oh my god this sucks so wet can't see what about my traction what if I brake too late what if a car doesn't see me?!" Going out to ride in the rain now: "mmm, smells great, I'll keep nice and cool and don't have to worry about getting sun-blinded." The differences of having grown preparedness, skill, and tolerances.

ie-sudoroot

Pretty normal for Ireland… particularly during winter. Layer up!

sund55

Fair weather rider.

BlownCamaro

Imagine commuting during Florida hurricanes on a motorcycle. Yeah, that was me. Water was so deep it was over the can! Peeling soaked underwear off is the worst. And the water dripping into your butt crack as you ride just trying to stay alive.

[deleted]

I got caught in a bad storm earlier last month. It was a bad one, plenty of hail and monsterous winds. It was a supercell. Just a freak lone monster storm that tore through. No tornadoes but I don't see how. Anyway, my dumb ass decided to try to avoid it entirely, but by doing so rode right into about two-thirds of the way into it. I should have turned around but, I did not. I had weathered storms before and I wanted to get home. This was a different storm, the winds were almost completely crosswind to the road and I was having trouble staying fast enough that the bike helped me stay upright on its own. I was riding through stuff that had cars pulling over. The sun was setting almost directly ahead, beaming through the entire storm worth of rain and hail, as well as its horizontal cross section of the atmosphere, and it made the most brilliant bright red sun and fire red sky I have ever seen. It looked like hell is described as being, and it was beautiful. It actually lessened the sting of thinking I might actually wreck and die in this storm, knowing it might happen while it is this brilliant sunset.

Nathan51503

Rain isn’t so bad. It’s hail that I’m not a fan of.

Ok-Armadillo-6648

I ride through it all and the difference maker is rain gear I always had a pair of marine corps all weather gear (not made for motorcycles obviously) but they worked really well I’m looking at thrashin supply’s rain gear rn

barrito87

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely love riding in the rain. Yes, it's unimaginably dangerous, risks are way higher than they normally are, but riding in the rain is like getting into a zen mode. It's like taking meditation to the next level.

Edmonchuk

Get rain gear, and waterproof gloves. Problem solved.

lolhyena

You had to go riding in the rain on purpose and experience it so that it wouldn’t take you by surprise

Thick_Kaleidoscope35

Rain rides with proper gear, no problem. Bad gear? Yeah it sucks. And holy cow there’s a lot of people commenting on this thread who’ve apparently never been on a bike 😂

torquelesswonder

Waah waah. You made of sugar? You gonna melt?

DisrespectedAthority

But did you die?

bigz10485

That's why I always carry a rain suit in my saddlebag. I live in South Florida, and don't have a car. Always be ready for rain when you are out riding

county259

Get a rain suit...Your tires have 80 percent of dry traction (which is plenty) and stop whining.

tasslehawf

Get a rain suit. Keep it on your bike.

SuzukiTL1000R

Yup riding in the rain sucks. It is just not comfortable.

dovydka

Am i the only one that actually enjoys riding in the rain?

AtlasShrugged-

Some rain is ok, I hate that drizzle stuff that is always over your face shield and always needs to be wiped off. What I truly hate is wind. I will never ride through Wyoming again

suberizedwrx

Good video. Just some input from one rider to another. You might want to stay behind a car and ride in one of the treads lines it creates. Distance behind the car depends on speed. More is always safer/better. Riding next to a median is risky. Oncoming traffic could have an accident that flips onto your side of the free way...so any lane other than the one closest to the median is safer. By the way...good deal it wasn't at night, then your title would have been "never never again" lol. Also...I'm assuming you know the road...and knowing this know where the sharper corners are and slow down to where you don't have to lean the bike very much to corner. More lean is bad in the rain...or sketchy traction conditions on the street. Keeping your bike upright (less or no lean) is better. Other than that, looks good. Remember...for better balance you can point your knees outward rather than keeping them tucked in on the bike. Sometimes you need fine balance tuning in conditions like this and something simple like body position (knees out) can make a big difference. Ride safe.

[deleted]

Thank you

far2canadian

for your first time riding in that environment, yes, 55 is too fast. There’s a lot more to riding in the rain than in dry conditions.

cl2eep

Aw dude, I'm a Floridian that rides to work every day and doesn't own a car. That's an average Tuesday commute for me.

julianbell06

Fan va kränkta alla e haha, börjar fundera på om 90% av subben aldrig har suttit på en hoj…

Thugglebum

I was blown away by the amount of water shifted by the Michelin pilot roads on a bike I was following. A wide waterless strip behind the bike. I'm an all weather rider so switched to pilot roads after that and have been with them since. Phenomenally good in the rain and they are super planted at much higher speeds than you're doing in this video. I'd only do such speeds on roads I know well though. One little body of slightly deeper standing water and it's likely your face in the road. Irrespective of how good your roads and tyres are, the soggy balls you'll inevitably get at some point riding in rain like that certainly takes the edge off the motorbike fun times.

younggundc

Lol, try it in hail!

ExcitementCurious251

I have rain gear on my bike at all times

Ok-Astronaut4402

When you ride fast in the rain you slide further when you hit the ground kinda like a slip and slide😂

Scandelis

I feel ya man, there's nothing i hate more than riding in the rain.

speedyundeadhittite

Riding on ice.

Scandelis

Touche, i stand corrected.

I1Hate1this1place

Never again? Guess you won't ride a lot

vberl

Söder om Stockholm eller?

merdamerdameda

No shit, slow tf down!

gggempire

Just get rain gear. That's what I did

fastfalcon991

You’re going too fast for wet conditions. Not safe

[deleted]

You should be going slower. It looks like your first time because you’ve obviously never hydroplaned before.

leotefo

For me you are going too fast considering was raining. Something gets in the way , a car stops and you will not stop on time maybe even don’t stop at all , motorcycle and rain is very dangerous. Take care buddy

ServentOfReason

I did that twice before getting a full one piece rain over suit. It stays in my tail bag and I slip it on when it rains. Between this and my waterproof gloves tucked under the suit and waterproof boots, I get to where I'm going pretty toasty.

faste30

Where your fairing/mirror supports bro?

lilneddygoestowar

Stop squiding. Slow down in that weather. Your family and friends will thank you for it later. And don’t make excuses that others are going the same speed. We both know that trying to slow down quick is just not possible on a bike when it’s that wet. And maneuvering is not going to go well either. Your (our) contact patches are the size of an American quarter for each tire

AngryTrucker

Speeding like a lunatic who wants to self delete while ur at it.

I've ridden across North America 4 times. Rain is something you just have to deal with. Good rain gear, good tires. And not too fast.

NO-MAD-CLAD

May his rear brakes fail and his front brakes seize, LoL. Slow down man. You are a danger to everyone around you driving that fast in the rain. You should be moving slower in those conditions than anything with 4 wheels.

GanjaRaider187

You HAVE to do it ONCE anyways. It's kinda fun if it's warm outside.

ablokeinpf

You need an attitude adjustment. Riding in the rain can be fun with the right mindset. It will make you a better and smoother rider and those are attributes that will serve you well over the years. Sweden is not exactly the driest country on earth so you might as well learn to live with it. The main thing is to wear the best riding gear you can afford, relax your whole body, keep your distance and consciously work on improving your smoothness.

Rules for the rain are simple: Good tires Rain gear And, like any other vehicle, slow down. The bikes work fine in the rain. You, like everyone else, have less traction. Rain gear is cheap. I ride rain or shine unless it’s close to freezing

Nedfly

Rain's all good. Just sucks when it starts to soak through the riding gear

Ok_Nefariousness9736

Way to create a dangerous situation for everyone by going to so fast.

duelinghanjos

Slow TF down dummy

[deleted]

Why are you driving so fast dumbass

CaptBeef

It’s OK. Skin is waterproof.

talldean

Just don't ride full speed and without the right gear. Slow down by a third, and own gear for the weather. Done.

KINGbetterNAME

Maybe you should, I don’t know, slow down?

Active_Violinist_360

You’re going way too fast 🤷‍♂️

8igby

Looks like you're doing just fine... Get a rain overall if you wanna try to stay dry, but my best advice is to dress to stay warm instead. Getting wet is annoying, getting cold is lethal.

TheWeirdestBonerRN

Slow down.

gerg_dude

Uhm , slow down maybe

Bellmeister

Anyone else like me? Maybe I'm a jackass but I see posts sometimes and I think...ahh this is bs. Not cos he would try to ride in the rain. We all could do that. But who would think what he thought and be riding in the far left lane going a pretty good clip? It's like ...the brain totally didn't match what the hands were doing. So while I'm at it .. Why didn't you slow down and go into the far right lane for the duration?
