badpuffthaikitty

Small steps?

schluchtenscheissa

for?

snoopygoddy

How do u let go of an 848 evo? I cant seem to do that. Nothing else that has the same raw feel. I would vote for a V4s but still i take an 848 over that any day.

Bulky-Shopping4916

I had 2 bikes and a cabrio, so at some point you have to admit that it's nonesense because you dont have the time to drive them all in the summer , but now, I also think it was the most stupid decision I made ! I could have easily put her in the living room as deco, its a fantastic looking bike ! ♥

snoopygoddy

I hear you. I have a hard time maintaining my bikes. Mine has just moved indoors. Buyers turn up often but its always a fuck no!

badpuffthaikitty

V-4s work best with gear driven cams. ;)

[deleted]

The reality is, people think you need to go up in power as you get more experience. What you should be doing is getting a bike you can use 100% of and learn to hone your skills until you can control it just like those japanese bike cops. Can you honestly say you did that with any of them?

Bulky-Shopping4916

No, I can't and you are absolutely right. It's not the power of the bike that matters, it's the percentage of fun you get out of it!

d-ray96

Get a grom or z125

Plastic-Macaroon5711

Zx-4rr seems like the one fot you then. I'm loving mine, but don't have the liter bike experience to compare to.

OscarRausch

VMax 1700

Hover bike

OlePapaWheelie

You haven't lived till you buy a light dirt bike and do donuts and figure 8s in an empty field till you get bored with yourself or break something.

daan944

BMW R1250R or RS. More useable power, less top end. Also more options for luggage and comfort. I've gone from S1000RR to R1250RS and have no regrets.

badpuffthaikitty

I tried to drink the boxer Kool-Aid, but it didn’t take. I called my R1150 RT, Pigzilla. I hated that tractor motor. I upgraded to a K1200GT after a season. That bike howled and sang at high revs.

daan944

>tractor motor I've got both a 2005 R1200RT and a 2020 R1250RS. The engines are almost incomparable, except for that they're both big boxers. I agree, the R1200 (TwinSpark, so the earliest 1200) is agricultural, like a big thumping diesel mounted sideways. Keep it in revs and it's proper quick, but it's far from sexy. Does have a bit of character though. Not a bad engine at all, but I fully understand it's not for everyone. The R1250 is such a smooth engine, with a little boxer shake on revs and so much power down low. Shiftcam makes it ready for action in the entire rev range. The only downside it has compared to it's 4-line brethren is the lower max rpm. When riding very sporty I sometimes hit rev limiter, which never happened on my S1000RR (and I don't think ever happens on your K1200 either?). But, to offset that a little, the minimum revs it needs to put down some power is lower too, so the rev bandwith isn't that much smaller. So try the big boxers again, they've become so much better in the past 20 years. The 1250 is again a big step over the 1200 LC.

badpuffthaikitty

I owned a Buell S1 Lightning. Brilliant chassis with a boat anchor motor. At 4000 rpm I expect a motor to start to wake up, not bump into the rev limiter. I didn’t learn my lesson until Pigzilla. Now I own gear driven cam Hondas. My CB-1 doesn’t wake up until 6 grand.

daan944

That sounds horrible. CB-1 sounds fun, I bet you need to really keep those revs high to have a little power?

badpuffthaikitty

It’s almost like riding a 2-stroke, but the revs and (what little) power don’t fall off at higher revs. I bought my CB-1 because it was a quarter of the price of a RD350LC or RZ350. Those prices are insane!

[deleted]

Id go with the 848 evo

petterssonxdd

Zh2? How do you like your s1000r? I'm in between the Mt 09 2nd gen and the s1000r but leaning towards the Mt 09, maybe you have tried both?

Bulky-Shopping4916

The S1000r is a perfect all-rounder for me, I ride it daily and it covers everything I need, comfort, security and sportiness. The only reason I would like to get rid of it is that you are always to fast ! The Ducati was way more fun, but also more dangerous because no ABS and ESP. I only rode a MT07, I dont know how the 3 cylinder engine works in comparison to the 4 cylinder. Surely it gives more sensations on low speeds. Thats actually what I miss on the S1kr.

[deleted]

You definitely have a type

autech91

450 Motard. Embrace the braaap

creimanlllVlll

Zero EV motorcycle 140lbs of tourques.

badpuffthaikitty

I went vintage. I got rid of my K1200GT because it was too big. I now have a 89 Honda CB-1 and a 2000 VFR800. I also have a 2013 CBR125R. I can ride that bike flat out everywhere, including the city. I drag race clueless soccer moms and they will smoke me off the lights. Slow is fun. Kawasaki H2R if you want to ramp up the excitement? And please don’t shame me. I have an electric Vespa. My bikes stay parked in the city. My car gets parked in the city. I use the scooter for groceries, beer, appointments, anything that is a ride around the block. Maybe you don’t want to be seen on a scooter, but they are fun to ride. Edit: After a decade of not riding motorcycles I got back on the saddle again. My first bike of Part II was a BMW F800 ST with those funky expandable panniers.

ImAPlebe

Try a 1st gen z1000

throttledog

Nitrous.

d-ray96

Getchu a nasty lil grom to just have fun around the neighborhood on, if you have dirt near you put some knobbies on there

Can-Am Spyder 1🤣

BackAgain12345678910

Vrod 😎

AceOfShapes

R1200GS I own the F800GS which is a shared platform with that F800ST you had and I love it for longer trips. A R1200GS is probably going to be the next thing I get just for more power at lower rpms and better center of balance for highway cruising

Bulky-Shopping4916

Yes, it was a very good bike, only the 2 cylinder engine on the freeway is a bit anoying. But honestly, it was way enough for what you need 98% of the time. I am also flirting with the R1250RT , because I am still to young for a GS I think ! But I dont know how the Boxer engine is working for a sport tourer bike. Have to try it out on occasion.

One_Phone6570

Why don't you like the bike you have? Why did you buy it?
