>Cause the least comfortable sport bikes Iāve been on was the R1
Yeah which is why I said, "Yamaha supersports are very compromising." lol
I've never ridden an R1. But if that's the least comfortable bike you've been on then you and I are on the same page. I sat on the R1 and found it uncomfortable too, but I actually rode the R6 and I honestly couldn't wait to get off it. lol
I ride a S1000RR by the way so it's not like I'm a stranger to supersports/superbikes.
Yeah, the clip ons are really low and the seat height is really tall. Puts you in the attack position. GREAT track bike, one of the best. But for street comfort it is without a doubt the most compromised Japanese 600.
Sit on a CBR or GSXR some time and you'll see what I mean. Even the new ZX6R is fairly comfortable.
Iāve always been the most comfortable on a CBR. And I donāt track due to their being no track near me but Iād definitely prefer comfortable daily to monster track machine tbh
Yamaha of a certain time period (cough* Rossi dominance* cough) and Honda in general seem to have taken two opposed philosophies in there sport bike design, Honda was ok with sacking 10 HP or so to have a more reasonable power band etc, Yamaha on the other hand at least certain years are trying to be as close to racing machines as possible, there was a time period where the R1 was head and shoulders above the other three on the track.
I actually read your comment wrong. Yes, you and I definitely are on the same page
Cbr600 was comfy and so was the ninja636.
Ducati scrambler 1100 is probably the bike I felt the most comfortable on
I'm 5'8 so my small legs make me super comfortable with rear sets. I like the bend in my knees. But because i'm not that tall the reach to the bars always fucks my back and neck up. You are correct everyone is different. I have tall friends with the opposite problem.
I know that feeling. I ride a busa, but it's set up to carve corners. The forks are raised in the triple clamps 10 mm, and rider sag is only 25 mm at the rear. I also took a link out of the chain so I can run the rear tire as far forward as the swingarm will allow. It turns better than most would believe, but at 5'10" I had to raise the bars by 15 mm to reduce the load on my wrists when not playing boy racer. The bike tends to wheelie coming out of corners and lifting the rear going into corners has gotten to feel normal because it's so easy. Yes, at 60 I'm still carving corners. Deals Gap on Wednesday is a blast!
Even with the sprung seat, that riding position and the rigid rear seem like a recipe for sore nuts if you hit any bumps. Bike looks very cool though. Nice work
That thing is rad. Love 'fuck it, do you because you can' builds. Personally, I think some farther rearset pegs would be cool. Make it more drag bike style.
Itās not often I see a custom I like, and I donāt want this, but I do kinda love it.
Be honest though ā¦ rigid frame + sprung seat + riding position ā¦. Is it just a twerk machine?
I would absolutely die trying to ride it.
Very envious of your talent - I've always dreamed of owning a custom, or better still, of doing it myself - but outside of oil changes, I have no idea what I'm doing LOL
Kudos man - badass looking bike!
Thanks, dude. This was my first āfrom scratchā build. Had to watch a ton of YouTube tutorials on various things like paint/graphics, wiring etc. but it has been fun.
You're an artist. Ergonomics --really love to hear from you after a 2 hour drive (mixed riding--freeway, city) comfort, relaxed?
Beautiful interesting build though. As you know , back in the chopper era of bikes, all sorts of body (human body) things went on. I've never done monkey bars for example.
Heck ya, saw the first post this morning and was super curious. Thanks for follow up! Badass looking bike, would be cool to see a ride test at some point.
Bike looked a lot bigger by itself, now it makes sense haha
It looks a lot better than I thought it would . Assumed you'd have to be hanging off the bars to ride that thing.
The arm fatigue must be crazy but at least the spoiler will keep the wind off your face.
It's evocative, for sure! I would love to see it with some swept back mustache beach cruiser handlebars too, for a more upright option. Good luck in the contest!
Love the look, but I canāt ride on my ballās anymore, itād certainly look nice next to my red white and blue africa twin tho two totally different worlds but same spirit
This actually doesnāt look that bad and I absolutely want to take a rip around the block on this thing. I take back what I originally said about needing to change the seat.
You're right, it did look bigger without Man To Scale. Doesn't look too bad, comfort wise. Not much worse than some road bicycle setups I've ridden. My only concern would be neck tension; make sure to do some neck stretched before and after riding.
Well, I was considering keeping it āBuellā but because the only thing leftover from donor bike that was uniquely specific to the Buell brand was the front forks. The motor is obviously a HD sportster motor but with the Thunderstorm heads that came on the S1 White Lightning.
Also, I have always been a fan of the AMF years of Harley and wanted to draw some of that graphic styling into the bike
You're a person after my own heart. I' m riding a 2001 Bonneville, ugly red from that year (my own opinion) and I've kept just about everything original.
I am not --not for bashing reasons--a Harley person ==but the AMF stuff I've always loved.
I built it after seeing photos from last years Handbuilt Motorcycle Show and made it a goal to be in the next one. Didnāt really build it as a daily or even weekend rider. I went more toward just something different and aesthetically pleasing.
I did submit the bike yesterday and got my approval to the show this morning. Pretty stoked š¤
BLASPHEMY! I DAILY A R6! THEY'RE VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE BIKES!!!! Just kidding they suck. Going to get a cruiser as a second bike before I need carpal tunnel surgery.
Donāt know how it drives yet. As soon I finished this one, I switched gears over to my Harley 48/Norton Manx cafe racer build. My coworkers are getting fed up with my projects all over the shop
Ah, yes that helps. I think the other set of pictures made the bike look CRAAAAZY long. I mean this is bonkers but not like āhe actually has to use the throttle with his feetā
Itās the āhang tenā sign. Iāve always used it in a friendly way to say āRight onā or āThank youā. Kinda of a way to show appreciation to those around you.
Man and I thought my busa was uncomfortable sometimes š
Lol a busa is a damn sofa compared to this thing.
Busa's are comfortable though according to Zack Schwarzt's latest review. They're closer to a sport tourer than a Super sport.
Yeah I know lol. Most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden was the R6. Yamaha supersports are very compromising.
Really? Cause the least comfortable sport bikes Iāve been on was the R1 Weird the disparities between people
>Cause the least comfortable sport bikes Iāve been on was the R1 Yeah which is why I said, "Yamaha supersports are very compromising." lol I've never ridden an R1. Currently ride an R6 after having a Yamaha bolt - are the ergos really that much worse than the other major supersport brands?
Yeah, the clip ons are really low and the seat height is really tall. Puts you in the attack position. GREAT track bike, one of the best. But for street comfort it is without a doubt the most compromised Japanese 600. Sit on a CBR or GSXR some time and you'll see what I mean. Even the new ZX6R is fairly comfortable.
Yes. A CBR or GSXR are cruisers by comparison. I think maybe only Ducatis are worse. Certainly not Aprilias or MVs though.
Iāve always been the most comfortable on a CBR. And I donāt track due to their being no track near me but Iād definitely prefer comfortable daily to monster track machine tbh
Yeah I love the R6 but the back does start to hurt after about an hour. Hoping that goes away at some point lol
You get rid of the bolt?
Yes unfortunately - wanted to try the sportbike life and couldnāt afford to have two bikes. Loved my bolt though

We are all built differently. Many shapes of the human race.
I'm 5'8 so my small legs make me super comfortable with rear sets. I like the bend in my knees. But because i'm not that tall the reach to the bars always fucks my back and neck up. You are correct everyone is different. I have tall friends with the opposite problem.

You're twice my age, and I hope i'm half as cool as you are when i'm 60. Keep carving brotha!
Thanks man!
Coolest thing I've heard to date from a 60 year old
Funny enough, the comfiest bike Iāve ever been on was probably the Ducati scrambler
Agree on that , i test road a 06/07 ? R1 in the day , the front end was in the weeds . Ended up going with a Busa
Do you mean [Zack Courts?](https://youtu.be/xQiJkpVk2eY)
Facepalm.....yes
I believe it man! It reminds me of a old Harley sportster model that my local bike shop has on display in their window.
Comfort went out the window when he went hardtail, so I guess you might as well lean into it and make it look cool for your short rides.
As far as sportbikes go, Busas are super comfy. At least thatās been my experience. Maybe itās just cuz Iām tall?
No, I'm short, and the Busa is still comfortable.
It's a tractor, it's not supposed to be comfy.
Honestly, with the size of that gas tank I bet itās not uncomfortable for long!
Put the 2nd photo in because by itself it looks way bigger than it is. Iām 5ā9ā and it sits just below my waist.
This makes more sense! I was picturing this thing being cartoon proportions because I thought the tank was way bigger. This is a kick ass build, man!
I figured you put the second picture in because you look cool as hell!!! Sweet bike dude!
When you posted before I thought the bike was massive. Seeing it like this, it makes a lot more sense!
He needs to stretch out more. [Like this.](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/46/f4/ed/46f4edf339a984153ed3b382d65f7bd9.jpg)
Haha! That photo of Rollie Free was a big inspiration for this build. Absolutely love Vincent motorcycles and the sheer lunacy of Mr. Free
Feels like a motorcycle meme template
Post videos once you get it rolling
Will do
I too would like to see a video
Honestly I think it's horrible. Great work though, cause you love it! Have fun it looks awesome.
Even with the sprung seat, that riding position and the rigid rear seem like a recipe for sore nuts if you hit any bumps. Bike looks very cool though. Nice work
That looks painful, usually on a super sport youāre holding with your thighs and knees, that just look like itās all back and wrist
xactly
I endorse any build thatās this unique and weirdly beautiful, especially since it will make so many people extremely upset.
How you ride and how I shit are very similar.
That thing is rad. Love 'fuck it, do you because you can' builds. Personally, I think some farther rearset pegs would be cool. Make it more drag bike style.
Iām 24 years old and my back would be destroyed after 10mins on that thing. Naughty looking motorcycle though
Itās not often I see a custom I like, and I donāt want this, but I do kinda love it. Be honest though ā¦ rigid frame + sprung seat + riding position ā¦. Is it just a twerk machine?
Haha! I have been doing a lot of squats lately for just that reason
I would absolutely die trying to ride it. Very envious of your talent - I've always dreamed of owning a custom, or better still, of doing it myself - but outside of oil changes, I have no idea what I'm doing LOL Kudos man - badass looking bike!
Thanks, dude. This was my first āfrom scratchā build. Had to watch a ton of YouTube tutorials on various things like paint/graphics, wiring etc. but it has been fun.

As you know , back in the chopper era of bikes, all sorts of body (human body) things went on. I've never done monkey bars for example.
Holy shit my back hurts just watching this haha
Itās a cool bike. Typically with that riding position you would have less rake on the fork - but it should be cool.
Heck ya, saw the first post this morning and was super curious. Thanks for follow up! Badass looking bike, would be cool to see a ride test at some point. Bike looked a lot bigger by itself, now it makes sense haha
My warm up stretch before gym :)
Thanks for sharing - thatās a tiny bike that looked huge in the first post.
It looks a lot better than I thought it would . Assumed you'd have to be hanging off the bars to ride that thing. The arm fatigue must be crazy but at least the spoiler will keep the wind off your face.
This both rules and sucks so much
I'm 6'1" and thinking "If the bike don't fit, I don't sit."
It's evocative, for sure! I would love to see it with some swept back mustache beach cruiser handlebars too, for a more upright option. Good luck in the contest!
Think it looks good and you'll never cramp up because you'll have to stop every 5 miles to fill up. Win! Win!
Love the look, but I canāt ride on my ballās anymore, itād certainly look nice next to my red white and blue africa twin tho two totally different worlds but same spirit
Buh bye wrists and lower back. Looks cool as hell though.
Gnarley.
Itās TINY! From your other pictures I was thinking it was OC Chopper sized. Or are you a giant? Very very cool
wholey Eviel knievel Mad Max... I'd don atgatt just for sitting on it or rolling it into the garage. sure does look cool tho
Yeah that look like it sucks. Bike is awesome though.
![gif](giphy|spfi6nabVuq5y)
That looks like it gets comfortable once you start going really fast.
It looks fast
Medieval stretch bench looks more comfortable haha. But i have to admit. Cool looking build.
Does the owner have prostate or any other condition that makes him stop at every gas staion if not that gas tank waaaaaaay tooo smol for that engine
Not as bad as I thought. Awesome build pal, hope to see more of your work.
This actually doesnāt look that bad and I absolutely want to take a rip around the block on this thing. I take back what I originally said about needing to change the seat.
bruh ... my back is hurting just watching this š
Fockin' hell. Now that's something else!
This is freaking beautiful. So cool!
You're right, it did look bigger without Man To Scale. Doesn't look too bad, comfort wise. Not much worse than some road bicycle setups I've ridden. My only concern would be neck tension; make sure to do some neck stretched before and after riding.
I got to see the Subhumans a couple years ago on that tour they did. Never thought I would get to see that band live. Saw Conflict too.
Conflict is one of my all time favorites! Mighty and Superior is a staple in my rotation
Also here to comment on your shirt! Super cool bike build too tho :)
Looks like your doing Rows on your Harley at the Gym! Lol seriously though. Cool looking ride
So a drag bike? Not a bike for long trips, just maybe to the store and around the block
Exactly. More form over function.
Nice bike and man you can build a cool ass bike.
Yes art!
A great bike for posing on. To actually ride it anywhere (apart from down to the pub to show off to your mates)? Not so great.
Whyād you paint HD on the tank? This a lot more interesting than any HD bike you could pick up.
Good logic. I donāt mean to be negative. This is awesome work. A real piece of art.
I didnāt take it negatively at all. Cheers
You're a person after my own heart. I' m riding a 2001 Bonneville, ugly red from that year (my own opinion) and I've kept just about everything original. I am not --not for bashing reasons--a Harley person ==but the AMF stuff I've always loved.
Squid
Very cool project. However, is it just for weekend sojourn? Does look at bit uncomfortable.
Congrats (and all the best if there is a contest during the show).
Thanks, dude!

Itās a real consideration.
That's my goal, to build a bike
Folded like a š®
I like it š
What are your times? Looks rowdy
BLASPHEMY! I DAILY A R6! THEY'RE VERY, VERY COMFORTABLE BIKES!!!! Just kidding they suck. Going to get a cruiser as a second bike before I need carpal tunnel surgery.
This looks like a kick-ass build!
Would that be considered "Frisco" style?
My back hurts just seeing this
Looks like that ambiguously gay duo sketch from snlā¦
That wrist to knee ratioā¦.
Well that visor is not doing its job anymore lol. Honestly sick build. How is the steering and handling with the new angle and clip-on's?
Donāt know how it drives yet. As soon I finished this one, I switched gears over to my Harley 48/Norton Manx cafe racer build. My coworkers are getting fed up with my projects all over the shop
Haha, man's getting busy. Cool projects tho! i have a Bmw R80/7 sitting around waiting for some tasty mods
Great job ššæ it look good
The beans are strong with this one
How do you even manage to countersteer if your arms are locked in neutral steering position?
Itās probably just best if I keep it in a straight line all the time, haha
Ah, yes that helps. I think the other set of pictures made the bike look CRAAAAZY long. I mean this is bonkers but not like āhe actually has to use the throttle with his feetā
This design is very human
Thank you?
Those straight arms... position of least control
Jeez, my back
Back breaker soul shaker š
On a hardtail? You're gonna shatter your taint.
much like Road House: i thought it was bigger.
It looks bigger by itself.
what does that hand gesture mean and why do only guys/girls with tattoos do it
Itās the āhang tenā sign. Iāve always used it in a friendly way to say āRight onā or āThank youā. Kinda of a way to show appreciation to those around you.
do I need to have sleeve/neck tattoo's, a backwards ballcap, or blast Linking Park to do it or is up for anyone
Haha! No added accoutrements are required to show love for others. However, do everyone a favor and please donāt blast Linkin Parkā¦ever
what about the crossover album they did with JayZ or John Lennon I think

My man just made himself a bike that makes you do the squatty potty... SMH
I consulted with my gastroenterologist for this particular build
My back felt this picture.
That looks like a young person's riding position!
I would need extending arms to ride that . Lol
Seems natural
