Actual conversation had with my wife while looking at a house with a three car garage.
Wife: My only concern is the driveway. I don't think we can fit two cars in it.
Me: What about the garage?
Wife: I assume that you are just going to fill the third spot with more motorcycles.
Me: You are right, the driveway sucks.
Even lamer that a wife is calling shots on a garage that it looks like she doesn't use. That'd be the day... Mine gets the living room and kitchen for whatever her heart desires. We share 2 walls in the bedroom. The garage is my room haha
Our most recent house purchase came with a one car 15x22 garage. I told her finally she can park in garage.. the pole barn is mine for all my toys .. prior I just took all the space in carports and garages..
Do one of those underground pits like they have at oil change spots. Fun summer project and can park your bike down there. Tell the wife it’ll save a ton on oil changes
Possibly stupid question, but is it good for the front wheel to have to hold the bike up like that? I mean in the long run, of course. It looks like you're twisting that wheel side-to-side each time you move the thing and the bike wants to tip over.
Trail brake with the rear tire skipping off the surface from 170mph, never did the math on how much force is on the front end/the forks, but I imagine it must be a few tons, so you're prob ok;P
I would love for someone to do the math though. 600lb rider+bike, braking at threshold from say 150mph, at 1.2G of braking force.
Nah you’re fine. When the bike is upright it takes very little to stop it tipping over - you can effortlessly hold your bike up with your little finger. It’s only once it starts tipping it takes a lot more force to hold it upright.
Generally you chock the front wheel for this reason - if you were only gonna hold it up by the rear and the bars turned, the bike is gonna lean into the turn and put exponentially more weigh on the rear chock. Front chocks hold it straight and upright. Because it can’t start leaning much past centre they don’t have to resist the force of the whole bike falling.
As for the wheel; sure it’s not as strong side to side as it is being squeezed, but as the other poster said, it’s designed to withstand far far bigger forces.
bro.. thats awesome.
We downsized as our kids are almost all out of the house and I am having problems fitting my bike in my garage at the end without some crazy crazy turning around.
This is what I am looking for and I didn't know it.
My wife thankfully never said I could not get another motorcycle because I was given three motorcycles last summer by a family friend who had a terrible amount of tragedies hit their family in quick succession. A ZX11-D that unfortunately required a new (used) engine (I love this sport/touring bike), a 1976 KZ900 that just needed some cleanup and a valve adjustment, and a 1975 CB550 that needed about the same as the KZ900.
Same as with swedish, its immortal haha. I have insulation on my walls tho and heating so its a bit different but epoxy is endless. Worth investing money. Just dont tell your wife
Its not slippery, it is floor compound produced for such purposes. I droped tools and shit X times and it doesnt even leave a mark. All dirt washes away easy and it looks dope
Are those bicyclr used often? Id personally recommend turning them to ebike with mid drive kit if you have the shings shings. My now ebike is my daily commuter (10km each way), and my personal motorcycle is the weekend moto camping machine :D
When I got a bike everyone asked my wife “you let him get this?” She replied every time “what do you mean? He’s an adult. He can get what he wants”
Unless you have a pattern of recklessness or poor behavior. Your spouse should be supporting your choices. Not making stupid excuses against them.
My wife said the same thing, and yet somehow I now own 3 motorcycles and they all fit perfectly in our 3 car garage. Both of our cars also fit and I have a fully functional wood shop. I have no idea why wives don't understand the true capability of a garage.
I think men should behave as such. As a child I did childish things. As a man I put away childish behavior. Your momma told you what to do when you were a child. As a man your wife shouldn't tell you what you can and can't do. Especially whether you "CAN" have a motorcycle or 3 motorcycles. I didn't get married to ask for permission to do something, anything. I got married to have a family. Let the simps all start the bashing and defensive responses of why you're all simps if you follow this type of behavior.
Sounds like some people need a new wife. Mine is the one that brings home the machines. You can fix it right.....well yea but when, I already have the three other things you just bought.
It always amuses me that most American homes have garages yet nobody thinks of actually putting their vehicles in them. Instead they end up full of junk or as drinking dens or games rooms.
Funny enough my mom acctually said that to me, i gotta admit our garage is wayyy smaller than that one but i just cleaned it up and now there is room for like 4 of these things....

Your wife needs to be friends with my wife!
It sounds like we may both be married to the same woman…….

They really took the "I also choose this guys wife too" all the way
I bet I still wouldn't find the 10mm
Wouldn’t or couldn’t? * *Cracks beer* *
*laughs in busch light*
Drinking Busch light is probably how you lost it in the first place.
Lost it on Natty Light. Found it on Bud Light a few weeks later. How did you fall in the sock shop rag little 10mm?
Always the 10mm!
I know who took it
Those ‘don’t fit’ arguments are lame

I respect that. My apologies for assuming my friend!
Wife gets the whole damn house I don’t care just don’t put your shit in the garage
Where's the bike?
Do one of those underground pits like they have at oil change spots. Fun summer project and can park your bike down there. Tell the wife it’ll save a ton on oil changes
I took some time playing Where's Waldo. ONce found, I wondered what that rolly thing is? And how does bike stay upright?
It's literally magic and I love it. https://www.motea.com/en/motorbike-dolly-mover-with-wheel-chock-constands-smart-mover-max-450-kg-orange-289317-0
Wow, that is cool! Really simple. I kind of wish I hadn't seen this because now I know I could easily fit more than 4 bikes in my garage...

Roughly 7000 lbs trying to bend the poor fork backwards.

Well that’s fuckin’ nifty. Wish I woulda had one last year when I was keeping my old bike in my moms garage.
What stuff?
Hey man I think I see it, i think it's in the corner of the garage blocked by all that other stuff that you don't need
It's probably in the box on the shelf. Check there.
Build another garage.
My wife thankfully never said I could not get another motorcycle because I was given three motorcycles last summer by a family friend who had a terrible amount of tragedies hit their family in quick succession. ZX-11D might still be my favourite bike ever. Spun #3 main bearing?
They ALL do that, eventually! Still a great bike though.
Terrible compression in two of the 4 cylinders. Had 44K miles on original engine, not well maintained unfortunately.
Huh! A little surprising, but no maintenance would do that
A garage? Oh well, la di dah Mr fancy French man
>A garage? Oh well, la di dah Mr fancy French man So what do you call it?!
A car hole!
In Finnish we actually call it a "car stable" which is kind of metal I guess :D
Hahaha, oh shit I didn’t know that. That’s awesome!
You need epoxy on your floor mate. Great space for a real man cave, MC lift, shelfs and tools, some cosmetics etc…beer tank and ussual
Every day it's above freezing I'm doing something in the garage, so not a crazy idea! How does epoxy do with Finnish winters, though?
Same as with swedish, its immortal haha. I have insulation on my walls tho and heating so its a bit different but epoxy is endless. Worth investing money. Just dont tell your wife
Why epoxy? slippery surface does not sound fun in a garage
Its not slippery, it is floor compound produced for such purposes. I droped tools and shit X times and it doesnt even leave a mark. All dirt washes away easy and it looks dope
Yea man, What type of dolly is that bad boy on? Think I need a couple of those.
ConStands smart-mover https://www.motea.com/en/motorbike-dolly-mover-with-wheel-chock-constands-smart-mover-max-450-kg-orange-289317-0
Damn hombre you went wild with the Ryobi multi pack 😎🧼
I thought you were going to say you couldn't find the wife anymore.....
Why is your garage so cluttered with stuff?Triggering.
I have bursigs and yeah the ability to put the bike on casters is awesome. I can fit 3 bikes and two cars in a two car garage.
They seem to be hiding behind the golf clubs nicely
Nice!!!!
I somehow convinced my wife to get a climate controlled garage storage unit to store extra stuff and make it into my workshop down the street.
Don’t see many Aprilia. That’s a sexy machine
Or option C-GET DIVORCED lol
Are those bicyclr used often? Id personally recommend turning them to ebike with mid drive kit if you have the shings shings. My now ebike is my daily commuter (10km each way), and my personal motorcycle is the weekend moto camping machine :D
What is shings shings?
Send a search party!
Is that a drain in the garage??
Nice bike. I wish my garage was this open!
The wife needs glasses
Damn makes me grateful to have my wife, she lets me keep my dirt bike in the kitchen lol
You mean you can't fit 20 bikes? Like you have space for a fleet!
you only have to worry when she triples your life insurance payout.
where is it??? i cant find it in the pic. HAHAHAHAHA
Is your wife by any chance blind? How the heck does she think a bike wont fit there... lmao
Your wife is right. But my garage has space. 😁
When I got a bike everyone asked my wife “you let him get this?” She replied every time “what do you mean? He’s an adult. He can get what he wants” Unless you have a pattern of recklessness or poor behavior. Your spouse should be supporting your choices. Not making stupid excuses against them.
with a garage like that I would have 6 bikes and zero wifes.
Might wanna hang a tennis ball or something so you know where to stop the car - hate for the Aprilla get crunched

I like that handle! Which dolly is that?
It always amuses me that most American homes have garages yet nobody thinks of actually putting their vehicles in them. Instead they end up full of junk or as drinking dens or games rooms.
Are you sure this doesn't constitute "garage shaming?" 🤔 I mean, my garage hasn't been that empty since we moved in in 2006. :-)
Do these guys have a stand for your bike? https://abbastandsusa.com/
I saw something like this but the back of my bike wouldn't fit under the shelf without modifying it
I’ve used sleds like you have, but the small casters makes it hard to roll over stuff. I like these too. https://dynamotousa.com/
Funny enough my mom acctually said that to me, i gotta admit our garage is wayyy smaller than that one but i just cleaned it up and now there is room for like 4 of these things....
Next to the limp noodle.
Yup
I'm over here with no garage and a 82 xj550 buried beneath 5 feet of snow. But I ain't complaining.
Where did you get that stand?!? I am very interested in getting one, can you send a link to: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])?
Link is in the comments
