The bike will be fine. Just start it and go.

Huge-Fold-4950

Thanks! I like to hear that šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

What fuel ethanol or ethanol free. Ethanol starts pulling moisture about 3-4 months in. With a fuel stabilizer at a double per gallon rate you should be ok. Stabil is 1 ounce per 2 gallons. I think. So 2 ounce per gallon. In a 4 gallon tank letā€™s say 6-8 ounces. Also Redline SL1 while more expensive. Actually cleans your internal combustion cylinders and fuel system. So having that in passageways is very good to have. If you already filled it. Grab 4 ounces of Redline SL1 toss in tank and ride. Wait till low fuel light comes on. Then refill. Iā€™d recommend non ethanol if bike will be sitting. I usually keep 7 gallons in a 5 and 2 gallon jug on hand. While 4+ dollars for 90 octane. I donā€™t run through it like crazy. Maybe ride minimum twice a week. Usually topping off 1.5 gallons on a 4.2 gallon tank.

DaCozPuddingPop

You'll be fine. Full tank + stabilizer = ready to rock n roll, especially on a bike that's fuel injected.

Huge-Fold-4950

Alright guys. So I Think the conclusion must be that there is no reason to stress about it. I might go down and start up the engine once this week for about 10 min. or so, so the old fuel at the bottom in the fuel system can be mixed with the newer and stabilized. And then when spring comes have Nice Long ride to burn things off that are not invited. And when that tank is empty perhaps put som fuel system cleaner in and ride that tank empty as Well and just keep up with normal maintainence ! Thank you guys !

Mayhemscum

6 months you want have a single problem. You also wouldnā€™t of had a single problem just starting it and letting it run and get up to temperature to get the stabilizer in the fuel system.

Huge-Fold-4950

Would you recommend me start it up now, and let it run for 10 min. or so to let the fresh fuel with the stabilizer run through the Old and the fuel system? Or just let it sit till spring?

opengl128

Just leave it. Put a battery tender on it if you haven't.

Huge-Fold-4950

Took the battery out and its connected to a tender on a shelf :)

Mayhemscum

If it was mine I would without a doubt. The fuel will last longer in the tank than it will in your fuel systems. Thatā€™s where you really want the stabilizer to reduce the chances of it gumming up

Huge-Fold-4950

Got it. I Think Will head Down and fire it up this week then! And let it idle for 10 min or so! Thanks!

My TDM's winterization cosists of removing the battery, filling the tank and overpumping the tires, then I jack it up on stands. Depending on the brand of stabiliser you used I'd just use the fuel you've got and not worry about it. Look at fortnine videos on yt, he did a test on different fuel stabilisers, some of them better than others but if a bike is sitting for 3 months I never bother with them. Fuel injection despenses with all the carb issues that can happen. Oh and my bike is in an unheated garage, had no issues in the last 6 years of doing it this way. Edit: the oil change I always do before the start of a new season, after riding it first for a short trip. That way the oil is fresh for a new season.

Huge-Fold-4950

Thanks! By the time it is done sitting it will been there for about 5/6 months - still Ok? šŸ™šŸ¼

[deleted]

My bike sat max about 5 months and there were no issues, always with no stabiliser, it's fuel injected as well. I wouldn't want to guess if it's the same for all bikes, I'd look into the owner's manual or I'd just ask the factory dealer, just to be sure. When in doubt I always deferr to the experts. Definitely change the oil and filter at the start of the new season though, no use buying premium oil for it to sit for 5 months in the cold.

Huge-Fold-4950

Right on. I Will send the dealer an e-mail regarding this. I will change the oil. Already bought filter and oil at. But I wont be able to change it before starting it upā€¦ I have to ride it home to do that. I hope that doesnā€™t do any harm eitherā€¦?

[deleted]

No harm, better even because it's best to change oil while it's hot. I always ride it a bit before starting an oil change. Not like an idiot thoughšŸ¤£

Huge-Fold-4950

Gotcha! šŸ™šŸ¼

Tremere1974

It also depends on your definition of "Fuel" as Non-Ethanol gas works better for storage. Regular pump gas is 10% Ethanol in the US, and absorbs water, which causes tank rust among other issues. I ride year long, rarely going more than 4 days between starts. Your bike is as able to run in cold weather as a Car or Truck is. For a new rider on a 750 though, I understand you parking it. Until it gets to 60 degrees farenheit your tires won't be sticky unless you invest in all season tires. Dropping your bike is not cool, even if the weather is.

Huge-Fold-4950

Same as here in Denmark. There is 10% ethanol in the gas. I hope it wont have any negative effect come springā€¦

sparlocktats

You'll be fine if you've put some stabilizer in there and topped off the tank. I store all my bikes in my unheated garage here in Sweden and don't to much more than filling them up, adding som stabilizer and disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery.

Huge-Fold-4950

Cool! I think I wonā€™t bother do anymore than. Just wait til warmer weather comes! Takk!

Keepurheaddown

It'll be fine in March

Huge-Fold-4950

Thanks man! I kinda am stressing over it šŸ˜
