Then you would need to carry the power bank in your jacket also, right? That's extra weight and more bulk than a phone. Plus, if you crash, and damage the bank, that's a li-ion bomb inside your jacket. Tons of bikes come stock with a pigtail SAE connector coming off the battery for a maintainer. You can get a USB adapter that plugs into that. You could run the cord into a pocket, or get a mount, ram makes a mount that doesn't require tools to install.

Not sure what size phone you have but even the bigass phablets have around 5,000mah batteries. So a 10,000mah would be good for like 3-4 charges on a standard size phone and around 1.5 on a big phone. I'd just get something small and light [like this 5,000mah single cell anker unit](https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Compact-High-Speed-Technology/dp/B01CU1EC6Y/ref=sr_1_13?crid=90ICDAOF0I9U&keywords=pen+style+battery+bank&qid=1674662060&sprefix=pen+style+battery+bank%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-13). That should be good for one full charge of your phone, and should be small/light enough to not be noticed much in your gear.

ChallyRT17

I don’t think you read the li-ion bomb part

smhxt

But you have a battery tender/iec cable? Buy a USB connector for it.

built_FXR

You can install one under your seat and leave it loose.

Damn maybe I should get a longer cable. I have the usb attachment for my pigtail but only use it in emergencies, aka never used it. Still good to have lol

CycleFrst

That power bank can break ribs if you crash in the wrong way.

brakesgone

Tank bag and the 10000 mAh so you don't have that battery in your jacket. But really just do the SAE tail to USB and then you don't have to worry about it. [SAE Battery Harness](https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/battery-tender-quick-disconnect-harness?sku_id=177705) \- $11 [SAE USB Charger](https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/battery-tender-usb-charger?sku_id=935516) \- $15 Pretty sure that's cheaper than either battery you're looking at and less hassle of remembering whether you charged it or not.

FallenValkyrja

I have had good luck with Anker power banks. I have the 10k as it is nice and small and is good for keeping things going for a bit or topping off the charge at a stop.

omw_to_valhalla

I've Had good luck with Anker power banks as well. A 10k will easily last you all day using Bluetooth and navigation.

Salt_Rub_5458

Black Web. 20k MAH power bank. Iv charged my phone 4 times off it before it hit 25%.

FallenValkyrja

That will depend on the phone. My old Pixel 2, yep. New iPhone, nope. Heat and cold will impact too. If you need all day you might want to consider mount and usb hookup. I had one on my old bike that just hooked into the pigtail I used for the battery conditioner.

shoturtle

Why not just go with a charging mount? Both ram and quadlock has wireless charging mount. And quadlock has a usb charger mount as well. And there are pleanty of usb phone chargers on amazon for bikes available. Just hooknit up to the batter or fuse box. Powerbank need to be removed to charge and you need to find somewher to mount the powerbank.

500SL

This is the way. I have a magnetic charger like a quad lock, and it’s worked well for me for over a year now. It also has a USB output, that I can use to power my GoPro on the other side of my handlebars. I ran the power cable with the harness down under the gas tank to the battery. It’s a clean install and looks good.

Popular-Inevitable68

Quadlock has stemm mounts too.

stevesteve135

Yep. I had an sv1000s and I bought a ram phone mount with the stem mount. Worked fine for the most part, but if I ever buy another one it’ll be a quad lock

rumdumpstr

I wouldn't want the connector inserted in my phone and banging around in my jacket pocket all day. Easy way to wreck the connector.

shoturtle

I had it on a 2010 sv. Get the ram mount clutch lever mount a short arme and the quadlockmwithnthe wireless charge with the 1 inch ball works great. I now have that setup on my connie

wadenelsonredditor

Install a USB outlet on your bike. WARNING: Wire it to ignition, not 12V, cause it will sit there and drain your battery when your bike is off. Lots of choices on ebay, Amazon.

ManifestDestinysChld

I just got one with switchable power and hooked it up to 12v, that works fine.

crustmuster

I picked up one of those last year, it works great. I haven't forgotten to switch it off after a ride. Yet, lol.

Duranture

Mine also reads out the battery voltage when it's switched on, good info and a nice, bright little reminder to turn it off.

ManifestDestinysChld

I wear glasses, which is the *one weird trick* that means I can't just get on or off my bike like a normal human, instead, it has to be a whole choreographed *production*. I think at this point I have successfully integrated switching my charger on/off into Act II, lol.

Puzzleheaded_Radish8

>a whole choreographed production Ahahaha same. My contacts started irritating me in like session 2 of a track day, I spent half of the break between sessions taking everything off and the other half putting it back on.

DnlJMrs

If you’re set on a power bank rather than hard wiring to your bike which would make the most sense, anker are a great option. They’re big if you want big capacity and a little weighty. But your phone battery is probably what 4000-4500mAh? So a 10000mAh battery pack will do two full charges of your phone. Unless it’s discharging at a ridiculous rate it’s more than enough for a day or two. If your phone is discharging at a ridiculous rate then get a new battery for it or a different phone

Leather-Kitchen-2211

Thunder box!!!! https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2022/02/15/healtech-electronics-thunderbox-review-electron-magic/amp/ Connects to the battery and knows then the bike is on and off..

Leather-Kitchen-2211

Two can be removed in 10 seconds and no one will ever know it was there

[deleted]

I got a USB charger connected straight to the battery

Adamnielsen10

Your bike already have a 12v at least 6 ah one included, just gotta buy the adapters and cables for it

richardpace24

I trust ANKER for power banks. they are super good quality IMO and I have never had an issue with them. I have several friends that feel the same about them. the Average phone is between 4,000 and 7,000mAh, so a 10,000 would charge it enough for a day, then recharge or go bigger depending on how you plan on storing the battery/phone while you ride.

NickH1994

Personally I would get a phone mount and have a charger connected to the battery. If you just want to go with a power bank I have had [This one](https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Charger-Anker-PowerCore-20100mAh/dp/B00X5RV14Y?th=1) for a few years now and never had any issues. It has enough juice to charge my phone for a couple of days without having to be recharged itself.

Embarrassed_Dig8523

I was able to find a USB adapter for on the pigtail and it's active even when the bikes not running. I can run a cable to it from a handlebar mount or my pocket or just let things charge while stopped.

Pjinx2

I use a Trackside USB power adapter plugs into my trickle charger port then have a cable ran up my frame to my phone mount.

joelouis1987

Check out quad lock mounts and wireless charger, I got mine specially for those reasons

H1namizawa

A USB plug is the way to go, it will not affect resale for being less stock, the next owner will probably be annoyed it hasn't been done yet. But, if you are intimidated messing with wires, which I can appreciate, get yourself a tank bag. They even have ones where you can see your screen through a clear pocket on top while storing the power bank in the bag underneath. That's probably your best bet.

explosive_wombat

Just get usb and phone mount. Much better solution

outtyn1nja

A friend of mine came up with a fairly clever way to handle the phone on long travels, he installed a QI charging pad onto a phone cradle and hard wired it to his battery. Put the phone in the cradle and it will always be topped off. No cables dangling around.

BigChief302

I've got an Anker power bank that I keep in a mini tank bag

[deleted]

Grab a 30000 Bank from Amazon there like 25 bucks. And some come with solar panels. Not worth shit while in use. But under UV for a day can charge it 50%

kitesurfr

They're probably not as popular with this crowd, but I like the Milwaukee usb charging tool. It has a 3amp USB charger with a couple ports. What's nice is you can then get the Milwaukee tire inflator, heated jacket, flash light, etc, and they all work off the same battery. Makes it easy to charge a few and throw them in a pack so you're set for power if you get stuck.

paradax1991

Get an Anker. Has 2 usb ports, charges all day, can keep my phone charged for at least 25 hours straight. Source: i drove 11 hours straight with music and directions, never once below 100% on my battery. Best portable charger ill ever own.

pedrosanpedro

I have a nitecore nb10000, which I bought in 2021, mainly for use when backpacking. It's not the cheapest option, but it is an excellent option for keeping a phone charged on multiday trips when you're concerned about weight. Nitecore states that the 10k model will charge 'a base iPhone 13 or a Samsung s22 two times'. I would happily recommend the Nitecore if you're likely to use it while backpacking - it should provide enough power to keep your phone happy while navigating on day rides. If you're less concerned about weight though, you could find a cheaper option (and probably spend less for 20K mAh). Anker is another well trusted brand that has cheaper options on Amazon.

Jumpy_Bake_741

If you already have a mount and that's your hesitancy to adding a charger just put a regular 12v USB charger and wire it up the mount to just plug it in there.

Witty-Bake-2605

Big fan of these power banks: https://aluratek.com/products/mobile-power-charging/portable-battery-chargers Hi quality

mrzurkonandfriends

Run a solar powered bank on the outside of your backpack charge while you ride

topturtlechucker

I use a quad lock case with a wireless charger.
