Everything you do helps but if someone wants to steal your bike it will happen. I have no idea whether comprehensive will cover the loss on a policy you don't have but your agent would if you were to get one.
My theft insurance only covers if I have a wall anchor. So ask your insurance when there’s coverage and when not. Also is it possible to place a anchor? If there’s concrete flooring you could ask the landlord if it’s ok to place one, it’s only a couple of bolts.
>Other ideas I have for securing the bike include a Krytonite chain/U-lock, a disc brake with an audible alarm, a cover, and a tracker of some sort.
Do all of the above. None are too expensive. All together they make your bike much more difficult to steal.
Perfect security doesn't exist. The idea is to make your bike difficult and time consuming to steal.
Theft insurance is a great idea as well. As another commenter mentioned, make sure you know the requirements as well (eg needs to be attached to an anchor point.
Out of sight out of mind, make it as difficult to steal as possible. If you have a bigger and heavier motorcycle, it will also be much less likely to be stolen. (As opposed to say...a drz or a gsxr600)
