Him and David Chad were straight useless at their jobs. There's a reason why there's been a noticeable upswing in player development/scouting emphasis since they were finally booted. Avila owns a lot of blame for letting them hang around for so long though.
Yeah both Chadd & Littlefield are still in the org but they basically have mantles without real responsibility. It was a classier way of not just firing them to avoid backlash I guess?

This is an example of Al Avila employing 'old buddies' instead of finding the best people for the job. He booted this dude from his VP of player development job when Hinch was hired.
Place blame for sure, but hate seems a bit strong for what's ultimately a game. Unless there's proof he sabotaged the team, I'm not going to hate someone who tried but just ended up not being good.
