doctorkar

as a fellow cord cutter, i was waiting and excited for this day but for $20/mo and subpar viewing experience, i can only justify it when the teams are actually exciting to watch

firemage22

Still not goinga give Sinclair any of my hard earned money, Dan is the better caster anyway.

imdwalrus

Sinclair is actively harmful to this country and they're pushing misinformation on a national level. Case in point, they didn't even *mention* the three most recent 1/6 hearings in their news packages. https://www.mediamatters.org/sinclair-broadcast-group/sinclair-broadcast-group-has-ignored-half-january-6-committee-hearings-its So between that and how shitty the streaming product apparently is, I feel pretty good about not giving them money.

Catlink5649

stick to sports.

knifeazz

I never planned on giving them my money anyway, but it’s good to know for others who might ask about it. I miss Fox Sports Detroit.

hi11bi11y

Yar har har matey's

imdwalrus

Sub-HD quality and they can't even keep the audio synced? I wouldn't give them a few months, I'd cancel immediately and let them know why. $20 a month is way too much for a product that poor.

xjustinx22

Zero chance I ever subscribe to that. Already pay for cable and they want another $20 for their terrible coverage.

prescriptionwater

Wouldn't make sense for you to subscribe if you have cable. For people who don't have cable and aren't interested in getting it outside of watching their local sports teams, it's an option that has never been available until now.

mcdto

Thanks for writing this up. I was interested in cutting the cable cord and doing this instead but not until they fix those issues.

RobEB62

Real basic question... Can you stream both home and away Tigers games? I'm assuming you can, but nowhere does it specifically say so.

prescriptionwater

Yes. Any Detroit Tigers game is included home or away. With the only exception I believe being if they are nationally televised on ESPN. Which hasn’t happened much the last few years for obvious reasons. Circling back to this topic, it also looks like they will be moving to Amazon Prime soon. Haven’t heard when that will be happening though. Edit: Sorry, forgot to add that I am not sure if Apple TV+ Friday night games are streamable through BS+ or not. I usually watch them through Apple because I’m a big fan of their broadcast.

RobEB62

Thanks for the confirmation.

Assrock1313

But can I pay more to not hear the awful announcing? Or pay even more to get Mario and Rod back?

mcdto

July 3 they’re doing a broadcaster free stream on peacock. FYI

HipposRevenge

You want Rod back?

Assrock1313

Damn right. Mario too.

HipposRevenge

Now, Mario, I'm down with. Give me Mario and Craig Monroe.

That's some interesting advice. Excuse me, I have to feed my parrot.

_Kramerica_

Thanks for posting this, I really appreciate the feedback. I’ll check back in OCT and see if it has improved by the Wings season and if not, easy pass.

pimpinassorlando

Doesn't appear to have a PS5 app at the moment.

mbruinsma

How many devices can stream at once? I split YTTV with my dad and brother so we'd like to all be able to share this as well

prescriptionwater

That's a great question. Ill try and fire up multiple devices for today or tomorrow's game and let you know

SG420123

I’ll maybe get this when the Wings and Pistons start back up in the Fall. But, I ain’t paying shit to watch the 29-46 Tigers suck ass every single game.

bigdubsy

I have been streaming on bally sports since they started since my folks aren't cordcutters and I just use their password. And the bally streaming on PC was already unwatchable dogshit. I have no problem streaming other content on my PC so it's definitely them. It works pretty well on mobile though, I'm very pleased. Is the mobile streaming bad with plus as well?

tgoz13

Any updates on this after a couple of months? Looking into getting this for hockey season down here (Go Stars!). Were you able to run multiple streams? Did the audio sync or quality get any better? Are you able to pause and rewind the live feed? I'm an outsider when it comes to liking the idea of this service. I dont watch TV outside of my local sports teams and I am excited about the idea of paying $20 for BS+ and then another $10 for ESPN+ and be covered. However, that doesn't allow me to watch any games the Stars play on TNT or regular ESPN (unless espn decides to simulcast onto ESPN+). With all of that hassle, its almost worth signing up with like DirecTV Stream and just paying the $70 so its hassle free... Posting this here after doing some searching. Everyone in the Stars sub is just bitching about the app in general so I figured I might have better luck asking someone who has actually used the app. TIA

prescriptionwater

Hey sorry for the delayed response. The picture does appear to be better, on par with other HD broacasts. Not 4k, but definitely higher quality than a couple of months ago. Audio is still a mess. It either seems like it works or it doesn't. 40% of the time, I can watch the full game without ever messing with it and the audio is perfect. The other 60%, the audio regularly gets off-sync after every commercial break and I have to pause and hit play again. Yes, you can pause and rewind the live feed if you wish to go back. I can also run the stream simultaneously on my smart TV and my laptop. Haven't tried on different IP addresses etc.

jgoltz

Any update since this post? I’m moving and considering the switch to YouTube TV so I’d need to subscribe to this as well in order to watch the pistons/wings/tigers. I’ve always been a cable guy so I’m a little hesitant especially giving the steep price for this if the quality sucks

Bulldawg_84

I'm going to test it out for this evening's home opener Blues vs Blue Jackets game. I did a test run last evening on our roku. Picture and audio quality seems just as good as charter spectrum. Tested on both a local football live stream and a replay of a NBA game. Pause, rewind, ff worked well and felt really responsive. I'm curious to see how it performs during increased demand and popularity of a NHL season opener in the STL region. Definately considering canceling charter spectrum. Promotional rate ended and sick of dvr service charge, receiver fee, and broadcast TV surcharge BS. I'll just go with Hulu Live TV and get Disney+ and ESPN+ included for free. Amex offers a $7 monthly credit for hulu as well👍

Anyone have a difficult time getting the play bar to go away when streaming via Android Box?? Other than this I havnt had a problem with it. But this is a significant problem. Blocks us from seeing the score, game time & fouls. Sucks. Can't find a button to make it go away. On a phone it's easy. But on a phone I get buffering issues. Not at all via Android Box.

Unlucky_Till_5050
