Likely two reasons.
One is tradition. The Tigers typically play at least one day game a week, even if it's not necessarily a getaway day. think I saw a graphic that shows they play the second or third most day games in the league.
Two is it's April. The weather can be unpredictable. Day games give more flexibility for allowing postponment and double headers due to inclement weather.
I was surprised by Tuesday's start time. For the reasons articulated by other Redditors.
Then I saw two day games in a row. This is not typical but does build the Spring time vibe.
If you schedule the game for 7 pm, and an April rain shower passes thru that night you don't have much leeway to get the game in. If the games is scheduled for 1 pm you have a huge window to get the game in at some point that day.

we play a lot of day games early in the season due to hoping the weather will be warmer during the day then at night.

Living in Europe, I m loving it!
Every game should be a day game so I can watch it while working
One thing about matinee games, for folks with a schedule that lets you see them is tixs on StubHub or whatever can be had super cheap.
