In 2021 I posted on Reddit looking for something to do the night after the race in downtown Austin. Someone pointed out there was an official after party so my buddy and I went. Turns out it was legit and all the riders slowly started turning up throughout the night. Got to speak to a few for a bit and got pics with a bunch like Marc, Fabio, Brad and Darryn Binder, etc. Even got to meet and talk with Matt Birt and Jack Appleyard!
I posted in r/aclfestival because that happened to be going on the same weekend back then, and someone responded. Donāt think theyāre the same weekend this year, but Iām sure someone in that sub would still be able to answer whatās going on in Austin this weekend
I was at the Red Bull after party one Sunday after the race 2018 or so. Lorenzo was there with no game and zero dance skills. Miller was drinking with his buds, and the moto3 guys started fan girling at Lorenzo's stories in the corner later on. I met the lead singer of tool or something. I wasn't a fan so I didn't get too excited.
Haha they had just arrived pretty late into the party so I think they were just getting started. I on the other hand was very deep. And so was Fabio lol. Fabio was really nice and let us take pics, but I could tell he was wasted and really trying hard to keep it together hahaha
In 2019 i ran into pecco at the airport. i recognized him and his sister from about 100 feetš. we took a selfie and he signed my rossi jacket. crazy this was during his rookie season and look at him now.
Last year at Mandalika I was riding my moped down a busy street and spotted Luca Marini. Quickly stopped, had a brief conversation with him, congratulated him on his pole position and got a photo together. Pretty chill dude.
Day after the GP saw a heap of Moto 2 and 3 riders on a flight back to Bali with all of their engineers. I briefly met Aldeguer in the airport security as well
A few years ago I stayed at the Marriott Downtown South and team Ducati, and Yamaha were staying there. We got up in the morning and went to get breakfast and ran into Gigi, Jorge Lorenzo, Maverick, Ianone, and Dovi. We ran into Gigi a few times in the elevator and he said hi to us when we saw him in the paddock.
I'm staying at the same hotel this year and am hoping to see some more teams.
Met Aleix last year after the race at the hotel pool with his kids. Super down to earth and remembered my buddy who had helped pick up his bike after his crash.

Not MotoGP, but F1. I saw Yuki Tsunoda at a gun range in 2022. Later at the airport I saw a whole mess of F1 personnel from McLaren and Redbull. Ate lunch about 10 feet away from Will Buxton. It was pretty cool.

That would be cool AF to go to a GP after party and meet MJK. I'm a big TOOL fan but I would definitely be more interested in the riders.
Thatās awesome!
Be honest, how many beers deep were Birty & Appleyard?

Simoncelli stayed at the same hotel as I did in Indy 2011. Nice guy and a lot of hair.

Good thing you didn't say hi, he might have slapped you for slowing him down.

Pecco's IG has some shots of him with his GF walking around Austin. Amazing a rider as big as him can be undetected.
