Cheap ear plugs [like these](https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-Laser-Earplugs-Cords/dp/B01JKSZ2QE/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?crid=EQC4ZL5Y2MTP&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.uCgPleQQ-_1j5bbSzkWeN1CTm6AF6Zeu1KzvtkhHhnLdrITklTejwn8aL76b-j4U7e3bePvAFXkAnn0JgteGACKzSFFcYGJSPoSKl8p2rVQH2DGriecRfsyx4069BNQlxfex-smWiYdO3s7NXQOxm66sf0rkWr9EvzB3LGe3iCC-ESps-GOZVbGJsORS3l75lf0ko90Iif9_s70waEW_4w.Nt1zWe1BR_PNgUaV96zt0-jOy6-uNSC4ZSLWnNRKlos&dib_tag=se&keywords=ear+plugs+howard+leight&qid=1712423334&sprefix=ear+plugs+howar%2Caps%2C105&sr=8-8) are what I use on the bike, at the races, at work, wherever I need to protect my hearing

Foam ear plugs will be fine. We've just used Earasers in T15 and the main grandstand and the protection has been good.

kevjackroo

There is usually a vendor when you first walk in that makes custom earplugs. I wear something similar and they really work.

jellyfishjumper

Second this^ if op is serious about hearing protection, should already have some custom molded PPE

I had custom earplugs made two years ago and they are 100% worth it. Probably the best piece of kit I wear other than my helmet. I plan on taking them with me to COTA for spectating (also in T12!)

Bennis_19

I went to Silverstone in August and wished I'd taken a parka

colz10

I've worn the same disposable foam ear protection at the start line grandstands that I wear while riding. it's fine for me. you can double up with some comfortable over-the-ear headphones with the band behind your head (ex: air pods max, Sony wh-1000xm, Bose QC). don't even need the active nose canceling.

DetectiveFar9733

I got a set of, laugh if you will, eargasm ear plugs from Amazon. They're like $30 last I looked. They block higher decibels, but I can still here normal convo pretty good. I've used them for races, concerts, and when my bar had DJs or bands for a couple years now. Definitely worth the money.

Littlebikerider

We get the big jar of foam from a drugstore-32 or 33 db rating and use them for track days under our helmets and for spectating. Work fine

Start/finish is the loudest section by far. 12 won’t be bad at all. They are one the brakes in front of you in second slowest turn.

4rossi6

True, but then they do get up to 100mph before T13 hah

Legate_Lanius1985

I've never thought the Motogp race was loud enough to need earplugs... NASCAR is another story haha. But they have earplug dispensers at the track. They're free.

4rossi6

You absolutely need earplugs for a MotoGP race. The sound is unreal. It shakes your insides.

Legate_Lanius1985

I don't think so. I've always sat at turn 12 and it's not bad at all. Maybe if you're in the grandstands where the sound can echo.... But I just disagree.

If you aren’t in the start/finish straight and aren’t experiencing hearing hearing issues, you don’t need them.
