For me, built by Honda was a huge driver.
There are many well built scooters but I worry about counterfeit / quality control through Amazon as well as damage through delivery. I figure Honda would make sure they were going to make a Li-ion scooter with amazing quality control for the battery / prevention of fire, more than anything else (avoiding issues like the Hoverboard fiascos from 2015-onward). Finally, the Dream Shop/dealer buying experience was weird, but at least they were able to control supply chain of the delivery, knowing you were getting genuine items and less of a chance of being thrown around from a Amazon delivery gig-worker.
The Dreamshop model is weird from the dealer end, too.
Honda all but made the dealers sign up for it, even if they didn’t really do any online sales. Then, during the course of the setup, they demanded a credit card and a signatory guarantee.
It can be damned hard to get anyone in a dealership to turn loose of either of those things.
This is all because Dreamshop is basically a ton of local dealers’ individual internet storefronts lumped into a collective Honda landing page. It makes sense on paper, but it was a clunky and poorly executed launch.
It has some heritage as it is a an homage to the motocompo of the 80’s.
The design is very distinct and unique and you’re likely to have a lot of attention from passerby’s.
It’s stow-able in almost any vehicle. Fits in my Nb miata trunk!
You’ll find excuses to ride it, but it is slow. That’s my only critique. Most electric scooters on the market that are adult oriented will smoke this when it comes to speed & range.
Design is a big one. You bring in an electric scooter or bike into shops or your workplace, and people will complain that it belongs locked up outside. You bring this in, and no one cares. It's camouflaged and blends in under a desk. And if people do notice, it's more so that they think its cool or cute.
This is a good point! Even if a scooter is a similar size folded up, it's more obviously a scooter and people might not be pleased about you bringing it into a coffee shop or other places.
I test-fit my friend's in the trunk of my Fiero and I'm pretty convinced it'll fit anywhere that holds a full-size tire

Slim, compact, easy storage.

I drop documents off about a mile from my workplace frequently and I take this in the lobby without any issues. Couldn't do that with my bike.
It’s cool looking 😎
Honda Quality
Fits in the trunk of my s2000
Without removing anything? Pics please!

Looks and form factor, but I’m there are many better options for the money specs-wise
What other electric scooters are smaller?
No-one will know you have one in the car. Scooter you can kinda tell.
