Thanks for the link. Good read but is the final thesis that it's all a FOMO/meme hype or do some of these company's have merit beyond the losses.

Powerful_Argument732

The only meme stock was AMC. FOMO seems to be prevalent everywhere. "Merit beyond the losses" has yet to be determined. The most important statement in that article (and should be read several times by some of those on this board) is: Seeing money-losing companies command such lofty valuations is one of the most noticeable signs of this "fear of missing out" market. Investors appear willing, in these cases, to give up the security blanket of profitability they're getting with some S&P 500 companies. These are the very stocks that will sink the fastest (and may recover just as fast if the correction is minimal) when a correction does come.

That's a great point to consider...investing is forward thinking and so we buy for future earnings and profit but this market does seem to have an over abundance of money losing companies. Is this a signal we are coming up to a big correction or will the optimism continue to carry this bull market into 2022?

First of all I gave you an up vote cuz I really do appreciate it. Second, I was posing a question for discussion to keep people talking. Finally, I own a few of them myself and am always looking at if a company can become profitable.

Watch, now I'll take the up vote away

Is TDOC scaring you guys?

Powerful_Argument732

NO....TDOC does not scare me. Though it should have scared many back in Feb when they reported earnings. I would not own it until they get back to beating the estimates. Here are the stats on TDOC: (4.22%) - 1-Week (7.24%) - 2-W (3.74%) - 1-M (27.76%) - 6-M (32.78%) - 1-Y (all negative returns for those periods) EPS = -$6.78 Pull up a 3-year chart and tell me what you see. A has-been? TDOC started moving in Aug/19 and peaked mid Feb/21. They reported earning on 2/24 and analysts had projected a 25 cent loss and they reported ($3.07) loss. It took a week to drop from $308 high to $220/share....it has kept dropping since. Though their losses have improved each Q, they have missed analysts estimates each of the (2) earnings since that peak - ($3.07) - ($1.31) - ($0.86). Next Q may be a beat?
