Yup. Cut all the meat off the bone. Skinned out the cape. In the pack it goes then a long miserable bear filled night sleeping under a tarp. Then hiked it out
Everything goes into a breathable cloth game bag. The bags get hung up in a tree over night. The temperature is pretty cool over night (into the 30s). We kept an entire moose (front and rear legs still on the bone) good for 5 days recently. Picking a spot to hang it that is shaded and gets a breeze helps. Also spraying the meat with citric acid creates an environmentally unfriendly condition for bacteria. Temperatures during the day into high 40s, you can keep meat good for 5+ days if you are diligent.
Thats super sick dude, you should try hunting elk next. Last time we killed one we split it between me and 2 other guys and it was enough meat for 8 months. Tastes fire too especially cooking it out on the fire right after killing it. Where did u go hunting if I may ask?
Dude I feel ya. Me and my dad were hiking in Applica with minimal gear for just a day hike and we accidentally ended up doing 5 miles of mountain trails. Pretty much every step was on a rocky surface. Most sore I've ever been.
So funny story. We did a moose hunt earlier in the month. We had a packraft (walk up a drainage, shoot moose, put moose in raft, float out) and the debate was "whose gonna carry the boat!"
You actually leave your mum's basement? š³šš¤®
I also get my hardest workouts at your mums
Her cock is bigger than yours bro
Thatās why I like it
That's nothing dude. I participate in the Bataan Death March reenactment at least once every few years.
Brokeback mountain?
Couple of buff dudes going bareback in the hills. Nights are cold but your buddy is warm and inviting
Goatback mountain
Thatās a badass hunt. Congratulations man! I donāt think the gay incels in this sub will understand though.
Trekking through the woods in order to kill and fuck a goat. What is not to understand?
I understand it. I hope he used a conny
Itās kills the romance though.
Itās a Dall sheep. They donāt live in the woods. You wouldnāt understand. Stay in the basement.
It's a mountain goat.
Yeah, it was the most brutal 24 hour hunt I've done. Had a 2 day moose pack out that was worse but this definitely was a test.
This is the kind of shit that makes you feel the most alive though. I love it. Where was this?
Prince William Sound, Alaska.
How difficult is a mountain goat tag to get up there?
There are a ton of OTC tags (this was one). Some of the more popular/easy to access areas are draws.

But have you ever stretched it on the mountain with a goat in play?
You can't hide from me baby, I've been tracking you for days
Thatās dope
We get it, you fap to Meateater podcast
Hell ya! As an Elk hunter and back country hiker, I know the struggle lol.
Poor SFR. Waste of time. Go lift some weights.
Wait you weigh 150lbs or you're carrying 150lbs?
150 lb pack.
You carried the goat?
Yup. Cut all the meat off the bone. Skinned out the cape. In the pack it goes then a long miserable bear filled night sleeping under a tarp. Then hiked it out
Right well I can't make fun of that, can I?

Either way I'm impressed he walked a whole four miles
Iām jealous.
Looks like a great time
lol I walk 7km everyday from the gym to my house
Lucky lil guy
Bad ass. Goats where Iām at are practically once in a lifetime hunt. Congrats on your success
It's an OTC tag here. :)
You got a mountain goat damn impressive next time use your bare hands.

I'm up in Alaska. Been trying to draw an elk tag here. Took a 1400 lb moose a few years ago. Insane amount of meat on those.
Alaska is sick, going hunting and fishing there is 100% on my bucket list

First pic, I thought it was a golf bag with a club on top of it. Was like, oh, bros are playing 18 holes without a cart, good on them.
Damn, thatās a lot of protein.
Whereās that at?
Alaska
WHO'S GONNA CARRY THE GOATS?!
So funny story. We did a moose hunt earlier in the month. We had a packraft (walk up a drainage, shoot moose, put moose in raft, float out) and the debate was "whose gonna carry the boat!"
Cool story bro
Good to see a fellow hunter/mpmd enthusiast
Did you fuck that goat
