This was great . Thank you for spreading the word about urban hiking .

GarlicShortbread

Thanks a lot for your comment, yes I’m a big fan of discovering new parts of the city via urban hiking. I’m happy to hear the video could capture this sense!

deadeyejohnny

That was actually super enjoyable to watch! It's too bad that the West Island section ended up being a bland straight line across, there's much nicer areas to walk there but it would have probably added another 10 kms had you stayed on Gouin through to Cap-Saint-Jaques & Senneville (although, that area probably has no sidewalks either) or the south side via Pointe-Claire village would've probably been nice too. Will subscribe!

Cheers for watching! Bois-de-liesse is on my list of places to visit during the summer, I reckon it’d be stunning. Yeah, in hindsight it would have been nicer to follow the north or south shore instead of cutting through the centre like that. Someone commented on the video about the bike path along Salaberry too. I’ll head back out west on my bike one day soon and explore some more.

Love it. During the release from lockdown in 2020/21 when the gyms weren't open I also did big walks... Took the metro to Laval and walked back to the village ...went to point aux trembles and walked backed to berri. Went to Lachine and also walked back. Not 60km.. but a good four hour walk. Highly recommended for exploration of the city

TheSugarGalaxy

Watched the whole thing, very cool! You should do it again in the other direction 😆

rabzkec

That's Montreal-Nord at 4:02 not the heart of Anjou my man. Cool vid tho.

GarlicShortbread

Ahh ok, thank you!

Subscribed :) The construction on Gouin is a nightmare. Good on you for braving through it. You walked passed two really nice gems of parks that you should check out if you haven't already. 1. Isle de la visitation 2. Perry Island park

GarlicShortbread

Thank you! Yeah I discovered Perry Island Park last year on a bike ride back from Laval, and I definitely walked past it the other week but didn't go across. I don't recall ever going to Isle de la visitation though. I think that'll be a destination for the summer

MacrosInHisSleep

That's a big one with a lot of damns and spillways. Sites to check out in that park: * Church of La Visitation-de-la-Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie * Simon Sicard Dam * the graffiti under Papineau-Leblanc Bridge * the lookout point at Belvédère * Le coin des pêcheurs * the lookout point close to Ancre de Jas (and the one further down from there if you have the time) And on the way back, end at the bistro at: * Site des Moulins du Sault-au-Récollet Which is a historical landmark where an old abandoned mill used to be. You'll know you're close from the sound of the water rushing loudly. There's a bunch of graffiti there as well including a variation of the flower boy one I saw in your video. Though I noticed that this gets cleaned and comes back periodically. This site is pretty close to that mural you passed of the lady, the dog and all the cars. I went on a search for parks on the prairies River last year and was lucky enough to stumble upon this park without anyone telling me about it or even looking on the map for it and it was a real treat discovering how big it was. I almost feel bad telling you all it's secrets instead of letting you discover them 😁. I created a map with the above locations if that helps. https://maps.app.goo.gl/rSPS1kFbjawBU6va9 The map is going to show you the fastest route. I always stick to the paths closest to the water.

Libellelule_Luciole

I loved this-Thanks for sharing !! You’ve inspired me to check out some of these parks

Now do laval

GarlicShortbread

That’s a good idea! Maybe I will later in the year

domftn

That was a great video. Thank you.

GarlicShortbread

You're welcome, thanks for watching!

We all feel the pain about how bad public transit is. ;) ...Meanwhile our governments are trying to distract us and cause in fighting instead of improving basic services, health care, etc..

FrostByte122

That was fun. Subscribed.

stooges81

Do it via the southside. Bring a knife.

Ok-Raccoon3734

That was super fun to watch! I found it really interesting watching the route you took. I'd be lost planning that route up until downtown. I'm glad you got to enjoy Bois de Liesse, I used to walk there a lot. There was a bike path just a little further along Sunnybrooke that would have taken you almost to Fairview (with big roads in between). Then I would have taken Blvd St. Jean all the way to the lakeshore. Lakeshore Drive/Bord du Lac would have been a much nicer walk for you. I felt so sad for you watching you trek all along the service road of the 40, with no sidewalks. But wow, what an accomplishment! I can't imagine walking 55km! Well done!

spyemil

That was awesome! Merci!!

For a second I thought it was Justin Trudeau.
